We ran through the forest, Felix carrying me and Jane and Aro running along side. I had no idea whether they intended on taking me back to Volterra to kill me there, or if they planned on doing it in the forest.

Soon we emerged onto a road where a car was waiting. Felix threw me into the back then ran around to the driver’s side, Aro sat next to me, and Jane hopped into the passenger seat. Felix revved the engine as he sped, to fast, down the slick road.As I looked around, I noticed that we were in La Push.

That brought on new tears for two different reasons. The first being that now there was no doubt in my mind that I couldn’t be saved, the wolves would never allow the Cullens onto their territory no matter what was at stake. And the wolves were always eating dinner around this time so they wouldn’t be able to save me either. The second reason was Jacob. He was another person I would never see again. A sharp slap to my face brought me out of my thoughts.

“Stop crying,” Jane sneered, “It’s starting to get on my nerves.” I quieted immediately and turned my face to the window. I tried to inconspicuously hold my throbbing cheek while making it look like I was resting my head on my hand.

“You humans are such weaklings.” She said it almost as if she was disgusted. The rest of the car ride was silent.

We screeched to a stop in front of a small plane hanger. Felix roughly yanked me out of the backseat, carried me into the plane, then threw me into a chair and strapped me into the confusing jumble of seatbelts. The rest of them just settled into their chairs and closed their eyes.Soon, Demetri climbed aboard the plane. Everyone’s eyes opened while they nodded to him, and then shut again quickly. Demetri waltzed into the cockpit and I realized then that he would be flying the plane. I stiffened; they could easily crash the plane. Where I would most likely die, they could walk away unscathed.

“Bella, we’re not going to kill you, yet. So please try to relax and get some sleep, your next few days might be uncomfortable.” Aro stated. I had no idea what he meant by uncomfortable, seeing that I would be dead, but I tried to relax as requested.Surprisingly I did fall asleep a few minutes after we were in the air.

The next thing I knew, I was being shaken harshly by Felix. “Wake up! I don’t think people would react well to seeing me carrying a limp body! Please wake up!” He was scared of people thinking of him as a murderer, which was quite comical because he was a murderer. I didn’t open my eyes; I wanted Felix to suffer somehow for taking me. I felt another sharp blow against the same cheek that had been hit earlier. “Jane, did you really have to do that? I mean, sure she’s not opening her eyes, but she is awake, didn’t you hear her heartbeat speed up? Do you really hate her that much?” I found it surprising that Felix would stand up to Jane like that.

“No, you moron, I hate that I’m not the one who gets to kill her.” Jane snapped back. “Bella,” she spoke to me now, “if you don’t open your eyes this second, I swear I won’t hold back next time I hit you.” I opened my eyes. “See Felix, a little threat works all the time.” She smiled angelically at him and for a second I saw his face twist in pain. Then Jane broke her glare and turned to me and said with disgust, “Come on human.”

My legs were a little shaky from the plane so it was a good thing for once when Felix threw me back over his shoulder. The bad thing about it was that we were headed to Volterra.

I saw the city from a distance as we approached. It looked the same as last time. The Volturi members easily hopped the stone wall and then continued to a small alley not far away, and I knew that we would be using the underground passage ways again because of the sun. Felix stopped as Aro and Jane jumped down the hole and then lowered me down and dropped me into Aro’s arms. Felix appeared and threw me back over his shoulder, they were obliviously to impatient to let me walk by myself, and we started down the long tunnel.

As we went I tried to suppress the memories of my last trip to Volterra, my surroundings were all too familiar. The only difference being that last time I had been here with someone I loved.
