School was worse then I expected. The teachers pronounced my name wrong and all the students stared at me like I was some kind of freak. And the the only person who actually talked to me was Mike Newton.
I had Spanish right before lunch so I was glad to escape the world of learning for forty-five minutes. That's when I saw him. He was flawless with bronze colored hair, golden eyes, and pale skin. I kept on staring at him until he looked at me. Blushing I quickly looked awa, but not before I saw him smile with perfectly white teeth. Of course.
"Cameron? Cameron? You with us?" Mike asked looking worried.
"I think she entered the Twilight Zone." someone who I didn't know said in a mystical voice.
"Yeah sorry. Just trying to remember what classes I still have. I think I have gym next."
"Cool me to. I'll walk you their."
"Thanks." I really was thankful, that is until some girl looked at me like I just shot her mother. Yeah, I was right. School sucks.
When I got home I told my mom I was going to a friend house. I wasn't really, but what she didn't know wouldn't hurt her.
I needed to find I place where I could sit and be angery with out anyone seeing or caring. I drove around for ten minutes until I found a place that looked like a beach. But insted of sand it had rocks. It reminded me of times before the divorce when we went to Pentwater.
Before I could stop them, the tears started to flow. I didn't notice him until he sat down next to me and spoke.
Instead of responding, I screamed.
"Calm down. I'm not gonna hurt you."
"Sorry I said still trying to get my heart working "You just scared the hell out of me. I'm Cameron Daenzer."
"Jacob Black." We sat in silence I studied him. He was tall with long black hair and tan skin. He was muscular and looked like he could break me in half ery easily.
"What are you staring at?"
"So whats wrong."
"Tht's not very specific." and before I knew it I had just told this complete stranger my life story up until today.
"So take your wosrt day and multiply it by ten."
"That bad huh?"
"Yeah. I mean who knew that teachers can't read?"
This made him laugh. "Hey, you wanna go somewhere?"
"Well, we could go to my house or to your house. Anywhere really."
"Lets go to your house."
When we got to his house I met his dad.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Black."
"Please" he said "Call me Billy."
"Okay. Billy." As we walked away I said "Your dads really nice. Nicer then mine." I looked away trying to inconspicuously wipe my eyes. Seeing family was a subject that should not be talked about, he quickly changed the subject.
"So, what was the name of that one kid who talked to you?"
"I know that kid. Yeah, he's weird." his comment about Mike made me laugh which made him look relieved.
We talked for hours about stuff that was serious, funny, and just plain stupid. It only ended because my mom called me and said that I had to eat dinner. Stupid dinner.
