I gunned the engine and sped off. I was scared that Edward would find out, but that just added to the thrill. I had kept my motorcycle after Jake had gotten me in trouble with Charlie.
It was starting to drizzle when I saw a silver Volvo behind me. Oh, shit.
I sped up, and was going 20 over the speed limit now. Edward slowly sped up faster than me. He was getting closer.
Then, I slammed down on the back brake. The back of my bike spun around, so I was facing the other way. I gunned the engine and switched to the other side of the road. A huge line of traffic was behind me, so I had to speed up rapidly to keep from getting rear-ended. The line of traffic blocked Edward from following me.
After a few minutes of riding around aimlessly, the Volvo pulled up behind me again. I could see his face. He was furious.
T hat look made me panic. I flored it, and turned. I took the turn too fast though, and the bike started to slip. My lower leg scraped the ground, but then I threw my weight in the other direction, and the bike started to stand up again. I gunned the engine and sped down the street.
When I got home, Edward was waiting in my room. He just glared at me. I bit my lip.
"Sorry. I just haven't ridden in so long."
He glared at me, and spoke. "What the were you thinking Bella? You almost crashed! You scrared the hell out of me!"
I cringed. His expression didn't falter.
"Edward I'm sorry. I didn't get hurt. I know how to ride it. I wouldn't do it if I thought that I would get hurt." I pleaded.
"Oh, like cliff diving? You didn't think you would get hurt doing that, and you almost died!"
That threw me off.
I sat there, biting my lip and staring at the floor for about five minutes. Then, Edward finally spoke.
"I'm glad that you didn't get hurt. I forgive you. Just tell me next time. And wear a helmet."
I smiled at him and came over to hug him.
"That, I can do. Thank you. I love you."
