I replayed the scene in my head over and over in my head coming up with things I could have done differently and could have avoided this whole mess.
How could I have been so stupid?
A sign broke my strand of thought, it had written on it. “Welcome to: La Push, Washington.” I sighed, finally I am here.
The sun was setting, I guess I lost track of time. My stomach growled as if to prove that I was right about losing track of time.
There wasn’t much of a selection of hotels, but I picked the one nearest to the beach. The beach kind of had a calming effect on me, but it was nearly dark so I decided against going right now.
I bought a few snacks to munch on before I went to bed. In the morning I woke up panting again, I had the same dream as the night before. I took a shower to wake myself up, ate breakfast, and headed down to the beach.
I perch myself on a large piece of drift wood. I watch the waves come to shore then leave colorful pebbles behind and then the next wave wash it away. I had never been to a beach like this one before, it was completely serine.
It seemed like I had been there watching the waves crash to shore for hours before people showed up. It is a group of local guys and I think I see three girls. They had made a drift wood fire, causing blue flames to lick the sky.
All of guys were extremely tall and muscular; they looked way to old for the girls that were with them. But the way the moved and talked made them seem my age or younger.
The one I took the most notice in had longer than normal, brunette hair. His skin was dark, like he was from an Indian descendent, and like the rest of the guys he was muscular. He was extremely attractive, well for my tastes.
I smiled, I am thinking of boys while I am on the run from vampires! I guess that the boy felt my eyes boring into his back because he looked up.
I was quick and looked down before our eyes met. Embarrassment washed over me, some guy I didn’t know caught me ogling him. I felt some heat come to my cheeks. I could have sworn I heard him laugh but I couldn’t be sure.
I saw something in my peripheral vision, it was a sign. On it was “Trail to Tidal Pools.” Sure enough there was a trail behind it. I decided that now would be a perfect time to visit the tidal pools. It was something I could do to get away from the strangers stare.
It was about a thirty minute walk through the forest, but it was worth it. The tidal pools were filled with many tiny creatures. I was fascinated watching the sea critters go about their under water lives. I stroked some of the starfish that were with in my grasp.
I guess I was so amused by the tiny critters that when I looked up the sun was beginning to set. Time seemed to slip past me these days. If I wanted to make it to my car before night fall I would have to jog through the woods.
I started out in a jog but as the sky grew dimmer the woods began to get an eerie feeling to it so now I was fully sprinting. I am sure that I not too far now.
I hear someone clear their throat.
“Oh, Violet?” His voice was taunting. Fear seemed to root me to the ground; I turn my head and see him casually leaning agents a tree examining his fingernails.
As the adrenalin kicked in I couldn’t help but try to run for it. He blurred forward; it felt like someone hurtled a big cold rock at me. He had hit my arm wrong, I looked down at it.
My arm is twisted in an unnatural position. I try with all my might not to scream from the pain it causes. He is crouching low a few feet away from me.
“Did you really think that you could hide from me?” I didn’t respond, the only thing running through my mind is
Violet you need help, get help!
Before I thought about what I was doing I yelled as loud as I could.
“You really shouldn’t have done that.” He gives me a menacing grin and charges toward me in a blur, he rammed me. Air is whistling past me, and then I hit a tree with a loud thump. I scream.
I couldn’t help it now there was to much pain. He only seems to enjoy my pain. Then something rammed him, who or what ever it is moving to fast for my eyes to see.
Then the blur slows just enough for me make out the wolf from my dreams. Just for an instant the wolf’s familiar eyes met with mine. He tares his eyes from mine and continues with his attack on the vampire.
All of this was too much for me I couldn’t handle it. I welcome unconsciousness as it knocks on my door.
I was staring into the fire lost in thought when I felt like someone was watching me. I look around, I saw a girl who sat on a large piece of drift wood jerk her head down just fast enough to miss my gaze.
She looks like she is around my age; she has long dark brunette hair with loose curls in them. Her skin is like a porcelain dolls. From what I could see of her she is gorgeous. I have never seen here in LaPush before so she must be from out of town.
The suspicion that she had been staring at me is conformed when her cheeks turn a bright pink. I chuckled to myself. I guess she heard me because she gets up and heads to the tidal pool trail.
You know, I haven’t really talked to anybody outside of the pack in awhile. I smiled eager for her to return.
It seemed forever since she left for the tidal pools. I look up at the sun set, she still isn't back yet. I think it is time to take matters into my own hands.
I got up to tell Sam that I was going to go to the tidal pools. I guess I wasn’t the only one who had noticed her because I soon as I mention the tidal pools Seth says.
“Bowchikawowow!” then I guess Paul realizes what I am doing.
“Hey! I saw her first!” I laugh and sprint towards the trail before he could do anything.
I hadn’t been on the trail long before I smell it.
I barely paused to take off the necessary items before I phased. The hairs on the back of my neck stood straight up and the urge to kill blinded me.
“Help!” This was a girl’s voice and it sounded near by, this seemed to clear my head.
Seconds later is when I saw him he is in a crouch and smiling at the girl’s pain. Anger rips through me, I push my legs to go as fast as they could and ran straight for him then rammed him.
I slow down to change my position so I can attack him again. I glanced at the girl, I fully expected her to become even more fearful but she just looked curious.
Our eyes met no less than a second, her eyes were a dark shade of purple. She was even more beautiful up close. The instant that our eyes meet I felt something deep inside me changed. The only I could thing I see was her.I think I just…just imprinted.
