It was turning out to be a good day. It was Friday and sunny with only one hour left in the school day. It was also a good day for another reason. They weren’t in school and I had Bella all to myself, well, not quite, she still refuses to go out with me. I just don’t understand why, I mean, sure she’s going out with Cullen, but once she realizes that I’m perfect for her she’ll dump him. Besides, what does he have that I don’t?
I had the perfect plan to get her to notice me, and now it was time to execute that plan. The first thing I had to do was get her alone. This was nearly impossible when Cullen was here, but since he wasn’t it should be easy.
I walked up behind her and reached out to touch her shoulder-I was really going to stick a small listening device on the collar of her shirt-as soon as my hand touched her she jumped away in alarm.
“Oh, good it’s only you” She said as the color began to spread across her face again. Why had she gone so white? Why was she so scared?
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. I was, um, trying to fix your collar. It was sticking up.” It wasn’t really; I just said that so I could have an excuse in case she asked. I noticed the microphone wasn’t completely covered and was clearly noticeable. I reached up again and tucked it under the collar. “There now it’s hidden.” Oops did I just say that out loud?
“Oh, um, the tag, it was showing.” Oh, no, is she onto me?
“OK” She gave me a weird look and walked away toward her next class. She looked back once she reached the door with a confused look on her face, shook her head and walked in the door. Yes! Part one complete!
After my next class ended I immediately drove home, I was practically running to the car. After I closed the door behind me I skipped to my room. Yes, I skipped! Skipping is a very manly thing to do. I closed my door and locked it. I ran over to my bed pulled the Spiderman blanket up and reached under it, pulling out a large cardboard box. I lifted the lid to reveal my secret stash of dolls. They were all from the tops of wedding cakes. When there was a wedding nearby I’d sneak over and take the dolls from the cakes. After I got them home I would name them. Each of the girls are named Bella and each of the guys are Mike. You’re probably wondering how I can tell them apart, well they each get a number on the bottom of them. Kinda like in Toy Story how each of the toys have the name Andy on the bottom of their feet. So far I have 47 Bella’s and 48 Mike’s. If it wasn’t for that stupid dog down the street I would have 48 Bella’s, but he must have thought it would be funny if he took her away from me.
I pulled all the dolls out, and underneath the fake bottom was a button. I pressed it and my radio turned on to let me hear what Bella is doing right now. I leaned back into my bed as I grabbed a can of orange soda and a bag of skittles.
“So, did you have a good day?” it was an older male, her father maybe? I could hear metal scrapping against something else, maybe forks against plates?
“Um, yea, I guess so, it was kinda weird though.” Bella replied back.
“Why was it weird?” The guy said with what sounded like a mouth full of food.
“Well, it was sunny out for one,” They both laughed at her joke, I didn’t think it was all that funny, I loved the sun, when it shone off of Bella’s hair it showed red tints that looked really good with her skin color, and her eyes reflected off the sunlight which made them sparkle. “And Mike Newton came up to me and put his hand on my shoulder, when I moved away from him he claimed he was fixing my collar. Then he changed his story and said he was putting the tag back in my shirt.”
“Well, what’s so weird about that? He was just fixing your shirt.” Her father said around another mouthful of food.
“Well, yea, except for the fact that I don’t have a tag on my shirt.”
Oops, I guess I should have paid more attention to what I was doing. I hope she doesn’t get too suspicious…
“Oh, give him some credit though, he’s a good kid. Creepy sometimes, I’ll give you that, but he means well.” A few seconds of silence past, then there was the sound of a chair scraping the ground as someone got up, and the sound of the facet being turned on.
“So, what are your plans tonight?” He asked her, it sounded like there was a double meaning to his words but I couldn’t be sure.
“Umm, nothing much, I might be going over to Edward’s house, apparently it's scary movie night over there.”
“That should be fun. Are you going to be staying over there tonight?” The way he said it, it sounded like she slept over there often. I shoudered, then listened harder.
“I’m not entirely sure. I’m going to go get ready now.”
“Ok, see you later Bells.”
Unfortunately I had to go eat dinner, so I missed out on the next twenty minutes. As soon as I was finished I raced up the stairs and prepared myself for the long night ahead.
