Edward simply held me as I dry-sobbed onto his chest, trying desperately to compose myself. I could not believe I had killed someone. My worst fear had come true.

"Bella, love, you didn't have a choice," Edward assured me, as he kissed my hair. "This is not your fault. You have to know that."

Once I calmed down, I looked up at him and said, "How could you say that? I didn't--I couldn't--how could I even do that? I can't be strong enough to take on the Volturi and win." I buried my face in his chest once again.

"In all fairness, you didn't do it alone. But, yes, you are. You never needed us, Bella. I was just too stubborn to admit it. But, it was you who saved our lives. It was you who took on the Volturi and came out alive. It was your strength that defeated them. No body else fought but you, Bella, and we're all still alive. Well, except Emmett, of course. He had to get his kill in to be satisfied." He chuckled softly at that.

"What?" I asked, looking up at him once again.

He took my face in one hand and stared into my eyes intensely. "Watch." He whispered softly, closing his eyes.

I obliged and channeled his power to read his mind, seeing everything that happened once I threw out the window:

The shield broke, freeing my family, but also allowing the Volturi access to them.

Carlisle and Jasper immediately protected Esme and Alice, sacrificing themselves if needs be, not even caring about their own lives.

Emmett jerked his hand free of Rosalie's death grip on it and charged. She looked pained; she had clearly been trying to dissuade him from this, but knew it was no use.

"Emmett!" She cried, uselessly, burying her head helplessly into Esme's shoulder. Esme leaned her head against hers, patted her back, and closed her eyes, in too much pain to watch what happened next.

"BELLA!" Edward immediately leaped for the window to come help me, but was thrown to the ground by the unknown person who made me live my worst fear.

"LET ME GO!" Edward snarled, thrusting him effortlessly into the staircase, so hard that he landed against the wall, breaking it, and caused the roof to collapse on top of him.

"Edward!" Carlisle called, worried.

He spun around forcefully and saw Emmett being cornered by Demetri. He made to help him when Caius reached for him.

Emmett, moving so fast that Caius barely had time to process it, threw Demetri into Edward's place and pulled Edward out of the way, crouching down and protecting Edward with his own body.

The sound of Demetri's death filled the room and Aro finally yelled, for the first time that I had known him, "ENOUGH!!"

Everyone froze and Edward nodded to Emmett, signaling that it was okay to let him go. Emmett obliged and they spun to meet their fate.

Aro shook his head, in disbelief, "Have we no dignity, my brothers?! Have we gotten so...reckless, so ridiculously apathetic as to resort to killing innocents of our kind? I will not have it. We shall leave immediately."

Caius made to protest further, but Aro interrupted him, "Have we not lost enough? Come now, brother. We cannot afford to lose anymore. And I will not kill an innocent such as Carlisle. He was so kind to us...he was once apart of us; we cannot forget what he meant to us. His family is our family, whether or not we like it. I'm done negotiating my terms. We leave immediately."

He spoke with such conviction that not even Caius dared argue with him. He simply stared blankly at him, angry at what he deemed to be lack of justice. "Marcus...bring Mikail...we shall oblige. Come."

Aro turned to Carlisle as Marcus obliged in collecting the body of the one I didn't know that had attacked Edward. He was still alive; they would regenerate him and then continue as if nothing had happened.

"Carlisle, my old friend." Aro said, softly, approaching him carefully, "I truly apologize for any inconvenience this has brought upon your family. May we meet again."

"With all due respect, Aro," Carlisle said, surprisingly coldly, "I honestly hope we do not. For your sake. You shall never bother me and my family again, is that understood? All matters have been settled and I am done negotiating. Please leave now."

Edward slipped out unnoticed and came up behind me, trying not to frighten me anymore than I already was.

I was struggling desperately to not collapse, and turned to run inside, running into his arms instead.

"Bella!" He said, concerned, pulling in even tighter, holding me as close as possible, "Oh, Bella. Bella, Bella, my Bella. I am so sorry."

"And you know the rest," he said, softly as I snapped out of it.

"I'm sorry." I muttered, shaking my head.

"What are you apologizing for?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"For everything. For putting you through this. If it wasn't for me, this never would've happened."

"Yes, my love, but if it wasn't for you, I could no longer exist either." Oh, he knew me only too well.

"Touche." I surrendered, too delirious to argue right now.

He kissed my forehead with a small chuckle. "Oh, Bella. Do you have any idea...how exceptionally beautiful you are?"

I shook my head slightly. "I thought being a vampire would make me see what you so ridiculously created me to be in your mind, but so far nothing. I don't even feel different."

"Bella, you were beautiful long before you became a vampire. I wasn't imagining your beauty. I'm not the most sane person around, I'll give you that, I mean, I do drink blood to survive." We both chuckled slightly, "But, I'm not delusional. I've been alive for 107 years and never had I seen true beauty until I saw you. I never knew such beauty and purity and utter...perfection existed. I had lost faith in all things. I had no reason to believe in anything anymore. What for? I was damned to such a demonic existence without any reason. I so wanted to cease to exist. As much as I love Carlisle and respect him, part of me couldn't help but hate him for doing this to me. I saw it as a curse to live forever. But now...forever is not long enough. I love you so much, I ache. I ache, knowing that I could never deserve you. But, I had to have you. And you wanted me as well. I couldn't deny myself happiness. My happiness, my love, my existence...all lives in you. It was born in you, it lives in you...and it can never die. So long as I have you...I have more than the universe could offer anyone....And...that definitely says something about you. Wouldn't you agree?"

I planted a soft kiss on his lips and shook my head. "You're impossible."

"Mm...look who's talking." He smirked.

"I love you." I said, kissing him again.

"And I love you. You're my Bella."

I chuckled and looked around, finally noticing the unfamiliar territory. I stood up and looked around me. "Where are we?"

He too stood and took my hands. "We...are on our honeymoon. Now that everything is over, I decided to get out before anything else went wrong."

"It's not over." I looked in his eyes, "It's only starting."

"I agree," He said, releasing one hand and leading me out of the trees.

I heard the whistle of a train and stopped cold. "Edward, where are we?" I demanded, confused.

"Durango, Colorado." He answered, revelling in my confusion. "Durango has a non-stop passenger train to Silverton. It's a gorgeous place. Of course, it's nothing compared to you, but--"

"Stop trying to get points." I interjected, causing him to smile.

"But, I know of a cabin in the mountains of Silverton. This is where we will spend our honeymoon. It'll be perfect."

I nodded, "Yes, it will. I'm with you. It doesn't get more perfect than that."

He caressed my cheek with the back of his hand and then led me to the train.

We boarded the train, sitting towards the back so we could look out behind us, and he sat down on a bench, leaning his back against the wall.

He gestured for me to sit in his lap and I obliged.

I laid with my head against his chest, and sighed contentedly, as he wrapped his arms around me from behind.

"I love you," he whispered, kissing my ear.

"Mm," I responded, lightly rubbing his forearms, pulling them tighter around me.

I turned my head around and kissed him softly before burying my face in his neck.

The train started moving and he chuckled, "You'll miss the scenery, love."

"Who cares?" I said, sniffing his scent in deeply, but looking out of my peripheral vision to see the scenery, which was so unbelievably, indescribably gorgeous. The only thing topping it was, of course, Edward.

Being in Edward's arms, at this moment, was so perfect. I had never known more love than right now.
