Five minutes later, we were speeding through Forks to Port Angeles in Alice's yellow porsche, with the top down, and while Alice found it exhilarating, I found it irritating. The wind was blowing her hair back in a magnificent manner, that put all supermodels to shame, whereas mine was being blown in an annoying manner, whipping all around my face and getting in my mouth. I spit out another annoying strand, pushed all my hair back with one hand, held it with great difficulty, and turned to look at Alice.

"Alice, can we please go back?! I want to be there when Edward comes back!" I yelled, over the roar of the wind.

She screamed an amused laugh and then said, in between laughs, "Believe me, Bella, Jacob hurt you and Edward doesn't have a decent outlet. We have plenty of time to kill!"

"Where are we going?!" I yelled again, hating that I couldn't hear my own voice, though I knew she could hear even the smallest whisper in this noise. My yelling didn't seem to bother her, though.

She merely smiled, "Relax, Bella. It'll be worth it, trust me. Edward will love it too."

"Love what?!" I hated it when she did this to me.

"You'll see." She taunted, as she sped up past 150, seeing as we were well out of the Forks city limits.

Mere minutes later, we screeched to a sudden stop outside the Port Angeles Jewelry Shop. I smoothed out my now tangled and greasy hair that was matted to my head and turned to look at Alice, whose hair was unaffected by the wind. I choked back a retort of jealousy and furrowed my eyebrows, "Alice, what are we doing here?"

She shrugged, "Getting Edward's wedding band inscribed." She spoke in such a nonchalant, innocent tone that I almost felt bad thinking of accusing her of tricking me.

She smiled innocently and I moaned, "How did you know about that?!" She simply stared at me, waiting for me to catch up. I sighed, "Oh, never mind!" I climbed out of the porsche and stalked towards the jewelry store.

She was walking beside me urgently and I rolled my eyes. "Oh, Bella! I saw what you're going to have inscribed in his ring and it is so beautiful. I would've cried if I still had functioning tear ducts." I scoffed and she continued on as if I hadn't interrupted at all, "I've had to use every ounce of strength I have to not think about it, because Edward knows something is up, but I don't want him to have everything before the actual wedding; there's no fun in that. Oh, and I was thinking--"

"Ugh!" I grumbled wearily.

She smiled and shrugged, "Never mind. I'll save it. Damn, you're becoming more like Edward everyday. You're very unpleasant to be around when you're worried!"

I rolled my eyes and walked into the jewelry store, struggling to hide my irritation.

The owner smiled at us and immediately approached me. "How can I help you ladies today?"

I was too bitter and concerned to answer so Alice answered for me. "We need to get a ring inscribed." She pulled the ring out and handed it to him.

He examined it and smiled, warmly, "This is a beautiful band. What inscription would you like?"

Alice leaned across the counter and whispered in the guy's ear. The man smiled, nodded, and went to the back.

I scoffed, "How come he knows what it's going to say and I don't?!"

She shook her head and said, "Bella, you know what it's going to say...you came up with it. I'm just the messenger here." She raised her hand slightly and I couldn't help but smile.

She repeated word-for-word, as if a well-rehearsed line for a play, what I had been planning on having inscribed on Edward's ring, "'To the Love of my Existence: I love you always. Love: Your Bella.'"

I grimaced, "No privacy."

"Yeah; thank God....Otherwise, it would've never been done." I couldn't come back; I was too freaked out.

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever! I'm gonna go wait out in the car." I made to go outside, but Alice stopped me.

"No, ma'am; I value my life; thank you. If I let you go off by yourself here, Edward will ship me off to the Volturi, himself. We're almost done here."

I sighed and leaned against the wall, counting down the seconds until we could leave and I could go see Edward. I hated this; it should be totally illegal for us to ever be separated.
