And with that I sat waiting for him to return. It was only a short time before Edward came back holding lit candles in his hand and a flashlight in the other.
“I hope I didn’t leave you alone for too long.” I shook my head as he smiled at me. He then sat the candles at the table. He then went to the fridge and pulled out what I had guessed to be the chicken salad. I watched him the whole time as he fixed me a plate and set it down in front of me.
“Here you go.” he smiled as he set it down.
“Thank you.” He then nodded and with that I began to eat small bites. We sat in silence for a while until it became unbearable.
“Do you know anything about the La’ Push trip? Mike asked me if I wanted to go.” I looked up to see him with an eyebrow raised and a small smirk.
“Mike huh? Yeah I know some things about it. Its at the beach on the res.” The smirk on his face disappeared and was replaced with a look of interest. “Did you want to go?”
“Kind of. I thought it might be interesting.” He then nodded and turned his head to the side. He then took a deep breathe and let it out with a sigh.
“Well I’m sure you’ll be able to go. But I’m also sure that it will be just you going. We don’t go to the Res.” He then got up, grabbed the flashlight and headed toward the other room. “I’ll be in my room if you need me.” And with that I was left all by myself in the kitchen wondering why they didn’t go to the Res and why he was being a little strange about it.
I was sitting in my room thinking about what had just happened. Even though I had found it hard to leave her I had to get away from her questioning eyes. She wanted to go to La’ Push. I had told her the truth though. We just didn’t go to the Res. My mind swirled with the facts.
The Reservation was home to a pack of wolves or rather shape shifting werewolves. They knew that we existed. They are still protectors of their people, guarding them from vampires. They are our enemies, our foes, the ones who are a key factor in us keeping our existence a secret. We had made a pact a long time ago to stay off their land and we did.
My mind then spun back to the other things that had happened. While watching the movie I had been so entranced by her. My hunger had stayed controlled as I silently admired her. I had been tempted by her and this time it was not just because of her blood. This was definitely going to be a problem. I was in too deep and I was barely up to my ankles with my attraction to her but I could feel it becoming stronger. My feelings for her were changing.
