Bella’s P.O.V.

“What did you say?”

“He’s coming home! He’s coming home! He’s coming home!”

She came over to me and started jumping up and down while holding my hands, causing me to jump with her. Was she serious? Was Edward really coming home? Oh God! I was so caught up in this news I didn’t even realize Jacob was shaking furiously beside me. Then he threw Alice full- force into the wall. “Jake! No! What are you doing?” I screeched at him.

“It’s okay Bella. I’m fine. Really.”

I ran over to her to make sure she really was fine. “Why did you do that Jacob? God.” Then I realized he was shaking more than I thought possible. “Jacob? Are you okay? Calm down. Please, calm down. I really don’t want you to change right here. What if Charlie comes home and you’re a werewolf? That wouldn’t be good, would it?” The mention of Charlie seemed to calm him down a little, but he was still shaking.

I went over to him, put my hands on his shoulders, and forced him to look me straight in the eye. I heard an “ugh” sound from behind me, but I ignored it. I had to get Jacob to calm down before I could get anywhere further with Alice or else he would explode. “Relax. Just relax.” He seemed to be calming down. “Good. Are you going to be okay?”

“Yeah. I think I should go now.”

“Okay. Be safe.”

“Yeah. You too,” he told me, but looked at Alice as he said it. I heard Alice start to growl at that but then stop. Then Jacob walked out the door, leaving me to stare after him as he got into the same car he came in. It seemed like ages ago since he first got here.

Jacob’s P.O.V.

No. He couldn’t be coming back. He just couldn’t. Not after all he’d done. How dare he. And what the heck did she mean by home? This isn’t his home. This isn’t any of their home. Not now, anyways. They left. They shouldn’t come back. None of them.

“What did you say?” Bella asked her as if she didn‘t hear the first time the little leech said it.

The bloodsucker ran to her. Then she grabbed Bella’s hands and jumped up and down, causing Bella to jump, too, all the while chanting “He’s coming home! He’s coming home! He’s coming home!”

I couldn’t take it. The little leech was acting so giddy about this. What was there to be happy about. Her brother broke Bella’s heart, and when she finds out he’s coming back to do more possible damage to Bella, physically and emotionally, she is joyful. Ugh. And then she had to go and force Bella to have a party with her. It just was all too much. I roared out and threw the bloodsucker off of Bella.

“Jake! No! What are you doing?” Bella screamed at me.

I don’t know what she was getting so upset about. Could she not see how horrible this news was? And her friend was perfectly fine. She recovered and got right back up after I slammed her into the wall. To prove my point, Cullen said “It’s okay Bella. I’m fine. Really.”

Bella ran over to her. “Why did you do that Jacob? God. Jacob? Are you okay?” I realized I was shaking, a lot. “Calm down. Please, calm down,” she begged me. How could she ask me to calm down? Could she not see the how horrible their return was? Mostly the bloodsucker that broke her heart. Could she not see what more danger that put her in?

“I really don’t want you to change right here. What if Charlie comes home and you’re a werewolf? That wouldn’t be good, would it?” Charlie! I couldn’t let him see me in werewolf form! He would have a heart attack. If he didn’t he would probably try to kill me. And Bella. I could accidentally hurt her if I changed. I couldn’t end up doing to her what Sam did to Emily. I would never forgive myself if I did. I had to calm down.

Bella came over to me and gripped my shoulders. I stared her into her eyes. “Relax. Just relax,” she ordered me.

I tried hard to do what she told me to, though it was hard. I knew I should calm down.

“Good. Are you going to be okay?” Bella asked me.

“Yeah. I think I should go now,” I told her.

“Okay. Be safe.”

“Yeah. You too,” I looked over at Cullen on that last part, hoping she got what I meant. The bloodsucker started to growl but then stopped for some reason. Then I left.
