Jacob.... Vampwolf?

-Bella's POV-

I shoved Edward off of me. He landed with a thump.

"JJJJJJJJAAACCCCCCCOOOBBBBBBB!!!!!!!!!!!!" I yelled, and my voice echoed around the surrounding mountains. "Oh. My bad."

I ran up to my Jacob. And took in the slight differences.

The first thing I noticed was his skin. It was much paler than before. A sort of cream color, but not as white as Edward and I.

He was taller, and even more muscular than before, if that was even possible!

His eyes, so carefree, met mine. That was what I had missed these past few days.

"Hey Bells." He smiled- yes, the one that reached his eyes, the one I loved. But more important was his voice. Very alluring, yes indeed.

Then I remembered, he hated my smell, I took a step back.

Jake recognized why I did it, "Oh no Bella, you don't smell bad anymore." Immediately, faster than Edward had ever moved, he closed the distance between us and gave me a good-ole-fashioned Jacob hug. The ones that weren't as tight as Emmett, but when you were human, still seemed to knock the air out of you. The ones that I hadn't felt in almost 3 years. The ones where you had to beg to be placed back on your feet.

"Jake! Put me...." my thoughts were lost as I felt his bare chest on my arms. His skin wasn't burning me as it had earlier by the bed. Also, he was hard. Rock solid. Like Edward. I guess he had changed, but was it for the better?

"How do you feel?" I questioned. Edward quietly ran to my side as I faced my foe, who now might have turned into friend.

"I feel great Bells. I'm stronger and faster. But I'm still a wolf. I phased in the forest, " his eyes sparkled with delight, and I saw they were still the black/brown they had always been, " I even talked to Sam for a little bit. You don't even smell horrible anymore."

As he talked about smell, I noticed he too, didn't smell as delicious he had before. Damn. But still, it wasn't repulsive. Almost as good as Edward. Almost.

"Watch me RUN!" He was so excited, it made me happy he wasn't mad at me.

It was amazing. Quicker than Edward. Quicker than any vampire could ever be. He made a lap on the field in a quarter of the time any of my family had ever done it.

Jake skidded to a stop in front of us.

"Cool right?!" Yes. Very very very very very cool. I'd like to see him hunt. Poor creatures wouldn't even know they were dead.

"Wait. Are you thirsty? I mean... you are a newborn... kinda." I glanced at Edward, whose face was wrinkled on in thought as he sorted through Jacob's thoughts.

Edward talked, and it sounded as though to himself but just for the benefit of me, "No, he's not thirsty at all. Like you were sort of but he just thinks that we're wierdo's for wanting blood. His mind is so complex. His hearing, sight, taste, touch and smell are ridiculously perceptive. He's better than any vampire yet."

Jacob's smile expanded as Edward spoke every word.

"So you're saying," Jake pondered, "I'm better than you will EVER be?"

Edward wasn't offended by this, but perplexed," Actually, yes probably. No one stands a chance against you, your highness. Even though you are still flea-bitten."

Jacob's head whipped around to the edge of the forest where he had entered, hearing and smelling things we weren't aware of.

Five seconds passed and we smelled it. Oh. It was just Alice and Emmett.

Alice skipped out from under the treeline and pecked on three of us on the cheek. Jacob seemed a little uncomfortable at first but then realized she wasn't a threat to him anymore.

Emmett silently ran up next to Jacob.

"Hey guys," he said, "Billy's here."

Uh oh. I don't think an old indian guy was going to be too happy his son had been transformed into an unstoppable vampire.
