Everyone’s eyes bored into mine with intense curiosity. I was to scared to look into the mirror to see what was wrong, so I asked in the odd voice, “Who do I look like?”
I swear you could hear a pin drop in that room. Even Bella was as still as a statue.
“Aro. You look like the leader of the Volturi,” Carlisle stated finally. Everyone else in the room was still wide-eyed.
“Your brain is in a weakened state due to the fact that you are a brand new vampire who has special abilities. While Aro is a very patient vampire, he is exceptionally curious to see if you were Bella. My theory is that he was trying so hard to figure out whom you were that his brain somehow printed itself on your new vulnerable brain. If my theory is correct, you should be able to change back. You are a very unique newborn vampire Angela.” Carlisle explained his theory perfectly.
“Okay, I will try,” I whispered and wished I was me again. Everyone started to become their regular selves, so I knew that I was myself again. A wave of calmness washed over me -- the wave felt like it was coming from the right side of me.
I looked over and saw Jasper looking at me. “I’m not the only one with powers, am I?” I questioned.
“No, you are not. I can see the future, which is how I know the Volturi is coming. Edward can hear your thoughts, and Jasper can control everyone’s emotions."
To make sure, I thought ‘Edward, can you hear me?’
“Who's coming, Aro?” Carlisle asked Alice,
“Yes, just him and the guard. He wants to see you, Carlisle,” Alice explained after she looked into the future again.
“Are we going to run?” I asked.
“No, they are friendly. Alice already established that. We'll talk and figure out what our next course of action will be."
“Okay. Once that is taken care of, I really want to eat.” I joked. Seriously, I was starving. I was appalled at myself when I realized that it was not food I was hungry for, it was blood. I walked over to a mirror and looked at my eyes: they were a startlingly blood red. I felt strong now -- not just vampire strong, but super vampire strong. Weird.
“Newborn vampires have human blood in them. It wears out in a year or so. If you decide to drink the blood of humans, then your eyes will stay and you will have to leave this area to hunt. If you drink the blood of animals, then your eyes will become a butterscotch color,” Edward explained, reading my thoughts. “We should go outside now. The Volturi should be here in a few minutes."
“How do I run super fast like you guys say we can?” I asked, wondering if there was anything in particular I had to do.
“Just run,” Alice said with a smile. She was such an optimistic vampire. I did as she told and I was off.
The feeling was amazing. I was at the door before anyone else. I smiled at Alice when they got there less than a second later.
“Not fair, I bet I could beat you any day!” Emmett challenged.
“She can’t race you now, we have visitors.”
As if right on cue, four hooded figures walked out from behind the trees. There was obviously someone leading them -- Aro, I guessed.
“Hello, Aro. Welcome to our home,” was all Carlisle said once Aro reached the entire family, but Aro had no interest in anything that Carlisle said. Aro’s eyes were only looking at me. Great, I wish I could disappear.
So I did, and started running.
