Edward's POVi took my seat in Chemistry class and layed out my newly bought notebook. The teacher, Miss.Wayley was setting up beakers and other equipment on the table. She was about in her thirties and had short blonde curly hair. She wasn't very tall, but still about two inches taller than Alice. The bell rang and kids came pouring in as if on cue. They all seemed to be divided up into groups. The cheerleaders, sports players, skaters ect. But as the crowd of students sat down, a boy appeared in the doorway. He had dark almost black brown hair, and matching brown eyes. He was definatly human, or at least seemed to be.He looked around the room hoping for a place to sit. There was an empty table across the room, but he seemed more interested in the seat next to me. He started forward causously, making sure that it was okay with me. I shrugged even though i would rather be alone, but it didn't matter."Hi" he said sitting in the chair. I nodded in reponse. The gesture was to silence him, but it seemed to have the opposite effect. "I'm Chris." I looked over at his anxious face. "Edward." i responded not wanting to be rude. Mrs. Wayley called the classes attention, and i was grateful. I wasn't really in the talking mood.ican't wait to get ou of here. His thoughts swarmed. I can't believe i let her talk me into this. i don't need to sit here all day, i've got better things to do. I was asumming that the her he was refering to was most likely his mother. All through the class his thoughts kept returning to hte fact that he'd rather be in San francisco right now. I soon learned to ignored his thoughts, but he was so loud that i had to block them out completly. Thank god that lunch is next. I really can't take another entire class without a break. The bell rang. I stood up quickly and grabbed my things and bolted out the door.chris's POVChemisrty was boring. I've already learned that stuff. I really don't know why Bella and have to go to school. There really is no purpose, except that Bella thinks that if we go to school and then graduate that people will think that were not as young as we look. I say who cares what they think. I didn't like school when i went thirty years ago, and i don't like it now.Everyone was boring. Well except for that Edward guy. Something about him was very interesting. I would of sat alone, but something told me that i better sit next to him. I don't know why though.I enetered the cafeteria and spotted Bella instantly. Every male in the room was staring in her direction. I walked briskily over to the table ignoring all the hostile glares. She smiled up at me as i approache i grinned and leaned down and kissed her cheek. Not that i didn't want to kiss her lips, but i have trouble with lip action in front of a crowd."Hey" she said as i sat down next to her. She pushed away her half eaten chicken patty. "How was class?" I shrugged.

"fine."

Bella's POV

Chris's expression showed that he didn't think to well of the whole school thing. He wasn't the kind that liked to do things twice. Which made him bad at demon fighting, because most of what we vanquish just comes back later. But that's really his only flaw that comes out of the job, except that he thinks he should be paid.

"You really shouldn't wear that." He said geturing to my outfit. i had on a pink mini-skirt and a black tank top and black sandals.

"Why?" i asked confused. I thought i looked nice. He saw my expression and smiled.

"You look great. Which is the problem." he turned and pionted out a few guys that were starring. As soon as they say that we had caught them they turned and started to talk with their group. "They can't keep their eyes off you." He said.

I rolled my eyes. Chris could be so protective at times. Do you see me compaining about all the girls watching him? No. But when a few guys decide to look he's all, oh no.

"Did you meet anybody interesting?" i asked trying to change the subject.

"Yeah." He said in tone that said that he had forgotten about something. He turned and scanned the room. His eyes landed somewhere near the corner of the caferteria. "Over there." He pionted to a group of people sitting at a rectangular table.

I looked over each one of them, their backs were facing away from me so i couldn't make out what they looked like. There were five of them, all crouched over like they were speaking to each other.

Then one of them turned their haed slighly to glance outside then turned back to the others. But it was enough for me to realize exactly who they were.
