CHAPTER 4

YOLI'S POV

I opened the door and stood in shock.

Oh. My. God. This guy is gorgeous. He had a pair of old jeans and a plain black t-shirt. His eyes were the exact same shade of gold as Bella’s. Vampire, huh? His reddish-brown colored hair was windblown from his obvious run here.

He stared at me for a couple seconds before he finally spoke.

"Where's Bella?" That got my attention.

"What?"

"What do you mean what?! Where the hell is Bella?!"

Keller and Elli came up behind me and crossed their arms, obviously ignoring his amazingly, good looks.

"Yoli, what's-"

I cut Elli off. "Who exactly are…" I trailed off as something clicked in my mind. "Um, Elli? Keller? Would you please leave me alone with Mr. Cullen?"

"Uh, sure," replied Keller, unsure. She closed the door when she went back in and I glared at the vampire in front of me.

"What the hell do you want?"

"Who are you?" he asked.

"Hmm, I know who you are."

"Do you?" he challenged with a raise of his eyebrow.

"Yes. You're the bastard that broke my best friends' heart and left her for dead 90 years ago. The one that she fell head over heels in love with when she was human and then was nearly died when you left."

"Who are you?" he asked again, irritated now.

I stuck out my hand for him to shake and put a fake smile on. "I'm Yoli. The person whose heart you broke's best friend."

BELLA’S POV

“Keep quiet,
Nothing comes as easy as you.
Can I lay in your bed all day?
I'll be your best kept secret
And your biggest mistake.
The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day.
Keep quiet,
Nothing comes as easy as you.
Can I lay in your bed all day?
I'll be your best kept secret
And your biggest mistake.
The hand behind this pen relives a failure every day.”

I sang really, really loudly as I brushed through my hair and got dressed.

I heard yelling outside and turned down my iPod to listen.

“No she doesn’t want to see you!” I heard Yoli yell.

I opened the door and started down the long spiraling stairs.

“I don’t care! Let me through!” somebody else said. Why did he sound familiar?

“No! You can’t come in!” There was Yoli again.

I saw Elli, Keller, Cheyanne, and Leslie all crowded around the door.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“Shhhhhhh!” They all said in unison, waving their hands at me telling me to shut up without taking their eyes off of whatever was going on outside.

“She doesn’t want to see you! Why would she?! You broke her heart and left her for dead! You have no idea how much you hurt her. I do!”

“You don’t know anything! Now get out of my way!”

‘That’s enough,’ I thought.

I shoved past the girls and opened the door open.

“What the hell is going on out here?!” I asked.

I looked at who Yoli was fighting with and my mouth dropped. Edward stared back at me.

“Bella…” he trailed off. I snapped my head in Yoli’s direction. She held my gaze and her face was contorted in concern and worry.

“Bella…I,” she started but she stopped when I shook my head furiously trying to clear it.

I felt dizzy and put my hand to my forehead.

“Bella, I’m so sorry.” It was so quiet I thought I had imagined it. What did he just say? “I should have never left. I still love you. I’m so sorry.”

Everything was spinning and my head felt light.

“Oh. My. God,” I said.

My knees gave out and I tumbled to the ground. Everything went black.

In the background I heard Edward and my friends calling my name and muffled ‘Oh my God’s’.
