Sam sat in a circle with Embry, Quil, Jacob, Paul, and Seth.
"I haven’t seen or heard anything from her! She didn’t call." said Seth.
"Yeah, and she hasn’t phased at all either," said Embry.
"Well, we’ll just have to hope she comes back or takes pity on us and calls, I guess," said Sam. "I’m afraid that’s all we can do."
Leah woke up and went to work like it was any other day. When she got there, there was a new worker. She hadn’t seen him, she had just heard it from another cashier named Chloe. Apparently, his name was Bujia. Chloe also said that he was very big- very strong looking. Leah had a horrible thought. What if it was just one of the pack, pretending to be someone else?
"What did he look like? Like, besides big," Leah asked.
"Well, he was tall, he had shortish light brown hair, dark blue eyes, and a cute smile!" she winked.
"Oh... okay. Thanks so much"
"Anytime!" she replied.
Leah went out to cashier and realized he was in the aisle next to her. She saw him- and stopped dead. So did he. She imprinted on him, but that wasn’t all. He imprinted on her, too. He was a werewolf.
"What...?" Leah managed to get out. "Are you a-a w..."
"Werewolf? If you are...." he said. "Then you must have..."
"Imprinted? Because I did, did you?" she asked.
"Yes..." The first customer came in.
"Come meet me later," she hissed. "I’ll call you- what’s your number?"
"‘Kay." Work seemed extremely slow that day to Leah. She couldn’t wait to find out about this Bujia. She didn’t even know his last name.
She was finally done with work! She ran home and found her cell phone. She quickly dialed the number.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Hey, it’s me."
"Okay. I just have some questions... What’s your full name? How did you become a werewolf? Where are you from?"
"Okay... My full name is Bujia John Sovard. I became a werewolf... Well, my dad was a werewolf. He was American."
"Where in America? Specifically."
"America, Washington, Olympic Peninsula, La Push, he was a Quilete Native American."
"So am I!"
"Okay, so that explains it. Well, my mom was Swedish. Her last name was Sovard. Her full name was Kara Sovard. I use her last name. My dad’s full name was John Whiting."
"I remember him! He left when I was like, two. He was really tall."
"Yeah, he was."
"So why are you here?"
"My parents died, so-"
"It’s fine. Well, since they were dead I thought I would go back and live in La Push. Also, I wanted to see if anyone else was a werewolf. Obviously, there’s one. Are there any more?"
"Yeah, I was only the sixth or seventh werewolf to change."
"Wow! Big pack! Now... it’s my turn to ask questions."
"Hey! You didn’t answer where you were from!"
"I wander. I was born in Sweden, but we didn’t stay there for long. We left and my parents died pretty much right after they got here, to America. Since then, I just kinda got raised by foster families and made my way, here. I told you, I’m trying to get to La Push. Now, my questions."
"Okay. What do you wanna know?"
"What’s your name? Who’s in your family? Why are you here?" he asked.
"Okay, well my name is Leah Clearwater. My dad is dead, but my mom’s name is Sue. I have a brother named Seth. He’s a werewolf too. As to why I’m here.... well, that’s a long story."
"I’ve got time."
"Okay, here goes. Well, I’d gone out with this one guy, Sam, for four years. We got engaged, but then he turned into a werewolf. I had invited my favorite cousin to my house to tell her the great news. He imprinted on her and left me. I was really sad, so I decided to... well, run away. Get away from it all. So, I ended up here, and imprinting on you."
"Believe me, I’m fine. Where are you staying?"
"Nowhere. Just wandering."
"Come over and meet me. I’m at 8 Motel. I’ll wait for you outside."
"‘Kay. Be right over! I’ll probably be there in like, ten minutes.
"Okay! Bye!" Leah said.
"Bye." Leah snapped her phone shut, then opened it. She went to her contacts and picked out a name.
