A Freaky Imprint

Jacob loses. Bella chooses Edward and runs away with the rest of the Cullens to whatever secluded, cloudy town they choose to move to. And they leave Jacob in La Push, trying as hard as he can to get over her. But then he realizes he's out of peanut butter. And so it all begins. The whole pack imprints on one girl. A girl who happens to be a vampire. Marie is running from something, and chooses Forks of all places to make her 'normal' life as a supermarket employee. But that idea is destroyed when the weird wolf guys come in and screws everything up. The pack is on the verge of falling apart over Marie. Only Sam seems to realize that she's not right at all. Can he possibly stop them from killing each other over something they are created to destroy? I'm sorry, I can't help but make it crack-ficish. Rated 'T' for language.

Chapter 10:

Kim’s POV

“What do you think is wrong with Jared?” I asked Emily, pulling at the red carpet that covered my living room floor.

“I don’t know. Wolf stuff.” Emily replied, staring at the small screen playing a cooking show, but not actually watching it.

“Something’s wrong,” I stated, “Jared looked at me funny…. It was almost disgusted. Something’s definitely off.”

“Sam said something about Jacob and Embry imprinting. Maybe it was over that.” Emily looked down at me from the armchair she was sitting at.

“Why would he be disgusted at that?” I muttered, burying my face into my knees.

“He was grossed out at you, Kim. He loves you as much as Sam loves me, and that will never change.” Emily lowered herself next to me on the floor and placed her hand gingerly on my back. “Come on, you need some fresh air. Let’s go out to the beach.”

Emily and I were pacing up and down the beach when we saw someone bounding up towards us.

“Hey, Seth!” Emily called as he came to a halt next to us.

I smiled weakly at him.

“So, any pack news you want to share with us?” she asked him.

“Can’t tell you anything, sorry.” he replied, falling into stride with us, seeing the infamous cliff sticking out in the distance.

“Give us a hint.” Emily joked, punching him softly in the shoulder.

Seth smiled softly. “Okay, but you can’t tell Sam, or anyone, that I told you this….” he started.

I looked over at him curiously. “Does it involve Jared?”

“It involves everyone.” Seth said darkly.

I glanced at Emily, and she caught my gaze, looking just as confused.

“We have an imprinting problem.” he stated simply.

My eyes widened. “What does that have to do with everyone?”

“Well… you see…. She’s kinda a…. Well, a….” Seth trailed off, obviously trying to not give to much away. I could understand. Sam was really creepy when he got angry.

“It isn’t Bella, is it?” Emily guessed.

“Thank God, no.” Seth smiled, but it quickly faded as he continued. “She’s…special.”

“Only a ‘she’. Is that Jacob’s or Embry’s imprint?” Emily asked.

He stepped in front of us, and we both stopped.

“That’s the problem,” Seth grimaced. “She’s both.” And then he ran off.

I stared at Emily open-mouthed.

“No. Way.”

“Jared, you better start telling me what the hell is going on.” I demanded outside the window of his car. I had searched for most of the day for him, but I finally found him parked outside of the Winn Dixie in his crappy car.

“Nothing’s going on.” he looked away from me.

“Don’t lie to me, Jared. I know you way to well. Now tell me: What the hell is going on! Seth said that Embry and Jacob imprinted on the same person! Is it true?”

He sighed. “Seth wasn’t allowed to tell you anything.”

“He likes Emily too much. Anyway, you shouldn’t be keeping things from us. We are part of the pack!” I crossed my arms across my chest.

“You aren’t part of the pack.” Jared corrected.

“I might as well be! I always know exactly what is going on, what you’re doing, what everyone else is doing! Why should now be any different? I love you, Jared! Please stop making me worry!” I tried to hold back tears, but a few escaped anyway.

“That’s the problem.” Jared said, and pulled out of the space and drove away.

I stared after him with an open mouth, and the tears started flowing freely.

I slammed the door to Emily’s house. The rest of the pack had left, so it was just me and her. I wasn’t afraid to cry.

“Kim?” she ran into the room, and wrapped her arms around my shoulders. “Are you okay?”

“Jared… He… He…” I cried harder.

“What happened, Kim?” Emily led me to the couch. I sat down with shaky knees.

“Jared… It’s Jared.” I couldn’t bring myself to say that hurtful words, couldn’t bear to think of Jared as the way he had been.

“Was it about what Seth said?”

“Partly.” I wiped away my tears. I couldn’t cry now. I had to be strong. “He’s been keeping stuff from me. He was mean. I told him I loved him and he… he just… He drove away, after saying that it was a problem.” I shook my head, more tears escaping. I knew in the beginning it was just too good to be true. I guess I was right about that now. After being fooled.

“He imprinted on you.” Emily said softly. “Something is wrong.”

I shook my head.

“No,” I disagreed. “It’s just that all good things have to end.”
