Chapter 1 -Bella's Point of View-

I was sitting on the couch watching TV. I heard Charlie talking on the phone, "Yeah, sure, no problem. See you soon, bye." He hung up the phone and walked over to me. "Bella, I need a favor from you."

I sighed. "Sure dad what do you need me to do?"

"I just go off the phone with one of the new officers at the station, his name is Brendon Ross, I was wondering if you could show his daughter Elaine around today, they just moved here and she doesn't know anyone."

Great, I get to baby-sit today. I was going to hang out with Edward and Alice.

"Okay, sure". "Alright we're going to go to the station in half an hour" Charlie walked away. I sighed again, now to call Edward. I went up stairs to my room and called him. He answered on the first ring.

"Hello?" I'd do anything to just hear that voice forever.

"Edward I can't come over, I have to baby-sit this new police officer's daughter."

"Oh, do you want me to come too?"

"No, I don't want to scare her." "

Oh, well shall I come over tonight?"

"Yes please."

"Hey, Alice has been over excited; she saw something but won't tell me what."

"Can't you just-"

"No, she's been blocking me out by singing annoying songs in her head."

"Oh, sorry, I don't know why"

"Okay, bye, I love you"

"Love you too, bye"

I sighed, yet again. As I walked downstairs I shouted,

"Dad! I'm ready!"

"Okay, let's get a move on them."

It was a silent, and slightly awkward ride in the police cruiser, neither of us felt like instigating a conversation. When we got there it was again, silent and then I said something "Hey Dad, I'm going to go use the restroom real quick, okay?"He was the one to sigh this time,

"Okay, meet me in my office." He the turned around and trudged off. I snuck off to the restroom area, but didn't go in. I took out my phone and dialed Edward's number.

"Hello?" The sound of his beautiful voice sent soft chills down my spine.

"Hi, I just wanted to hear your voice before I had to leave."He chuckled quietly, "Bella what am I going to do with you"

"Change me…"Now he sighed,

"Not right now, I'll talk with you later"

"Okay, bye, I love you Edward."

"Love you too Bella, goodbye."I hung up the phone and prepared to meet this new girl.

I walked toward my dad's office at the station. When I walked in the girl whipped her head in my direction, she inhaled deeply through her nose, the man more subtly inhaled quickly two times. That was the first thing I noticed. The second thing was that these people were incredibly gorgeous.

The man had short, soft, and beautiful curly brown hair and was very tall and lean. The girl had somewhat perfectly messy bronze hair that hung just right and reached just above her waist, she was small and slender. And they both had magnificent yellow-gold eyes. Both of them welcomed me with warm smiles. Charlie started talking after a small awkward silence.

"Brendon, Elaine; this is my daughter Isabella, but she likes to be called Bella. Bella this is our new officer, Brendon Ross and his daughter Elaine." I looked at them; he looked a little young to have a teenage daughter. But who am I to judge.

"It's nice to meet you Officer Ross, and you too Elaine." I said, trying to be polite. They smiled at me. "

Please, call me Brendon." He said. I smiled again and nodded. "Okay, you kids have fun; I'm going to show Officer Ross around. We smiled at them and murmured a goodbye the left the room and for a few minutes Elaine and I just stared at each other.
