Chapter 15

"You’re very lucky," Kate said to me," she has a good soul."

"I know," I replied simply, "but how do you?"

"Part of my power," she sighed and leaned her head back on the couch she was sitting on.

"What exactly is your power?" Carlisle asked.

"You really do not want to know," she said with an odd tone of voice.

"She can read minds," I supplied.

"That can’t be all she can do," Bella’s quite voice said from beside me.

"How do you know?" Kate asked her confusion on her face. Bella just shrugged, and went to sit by Alice. Kate looked at her for a minute then smiled, "you’re right it isn’t my only power, and you’ll have many when you change as well."

"Really? I haven’t been able to see her powers." Alice said.

"Yeah I know of two she’ll have but she’ll probably have at least one more that’s dormant, most likely having to do with the way you observe things. It’s almost an advanced form of Innate Ability." She said looking at Bella.

"What will be the two others?" I asked. I’d always been interested in what power Bella would have.

"Power negation and Power mimicry or absorption," she said. We just stared until Emmett asked:

"What’s that?"

"Power mimicry is when you can use others powers if she has this she might not have the advanced innate ability. Power negation is basically when you block others powers. Bella’s already showing some signs of this."

"How do you know all of this?" I asked.

"I have both of those powers," she said simply. We stared.

"Ok, can you just tell us what powers you have?"

"No, there’s too many," she said.

"For goodness sake just tell us!" Alice, Emmett and Rosalie yelled.

"No!"

"Yes" It went on like that for about two minutes, until Kate got fed up with the arguing.

"Ugh fine! Um… telekinesis, illusion, teleportation, force field generation, time manipulation, intangibility how many is that?"

"Six," I said. She started muttering to herself counting on her fingers, and then started up again.

"Psychic weapons, memory manipulation, Domination, which is basically, mind control, telepathy, invisibility, some innate capability and time travel, then power negation, and mimicry which I already said."

"How is it you have so many powers?" Carlisle asked.

"I have a few theories," she said, "The one that stuck was that when I was human I knew exactly who I was, you could say I reached my full potential. When I was changed I reached my full potential in this life as well. If your reach your full potential after your changed you evolve some. Your power gets better, but you don’t go as far as you could. I’m not even as strong as I could be. Some of my powers don’t work all the time for domination and time travel I have to be in the right state of mind. I’ve only been able to time travel once."

"What was that like?" Carlisle asked. "Where did you go?"

"I don’t know where I went, I was just sitting in a tree, I closed my eyes and when I opened them again the geography changed. There was a path a few meters to the left of the tree where there’d only been grass before. A girl walked past, I called out but she didn’t hear me I jumped down in front of her she didn’t see me. It was like I was a ghost." She explained with a smile.

"How did you get back?" Alice asked.

"I just sat in m tree closed my eyes and waited."

"It must be awesome having so much power!" Emmett exclaimed.

"Are you kidding? It’s the worst. I hate it. To hold so much power over everyone else, to know you could do something about all of the crime, but you can’t because they’ll see you as the evil one, the one they just don’t understand so they mark you as the bad one. Trust me I’ve tried it. They had me hanged thought I was a witch…I guess it wasn’t the best time to try helping the community, about a year after I was changed. 1919. I just pretended to be dead, escaped when no one was looking. Since then I’ve just made it through stopping crimes where I could without exposing myself. "
