There's a new girl in the town of Forks, she's smart, musical and down to earth. Sound like anyone we know? So what happens when she meets the Cullens? ES FINITO! Also some people haven't realized this, I changed the title of this from, 'A New Point of veiw' to it's current title 'Afterlife'. Sorry for the confusion! Also in this and all of my other stories the pictures do not belong to me I don't claim them in any way what so ever and I put who does own them in the chapter. Don't sue me please.colorful-12.gif image by Erka_03Someone left me a review with a banner! I was so happy but then my mouse got knocked and the review got deleted. So if you are that amazing person who made me a banner, can you please try and put it in another review? I would be eternally greatfull.

I own none of the characters in the fabulous Twilight Saga. The rest however are figments of my imagination. For anyone who knows me I picked the name for the main character because I couldn't think of a better one, and once I put it in there it just worked.

Chapter 5

What a horrible place. We were in the smallest town in the world, a place where everyone knew each other’s secrets. Where no matter what you did there was no way out.

Forks was especially like this, the whole place was surrounded by and covered in trees. I mean sure Chicago had had trees but not like this. When I looked up there was no blue sky, only green leaves. And it rained constantly. It’d make it easier for people like me to live here. But did it ever stop raining?

"Ew," Bridge said as we got off the train. My head phones were in, but this wasn’t new I had them in nearly 24/7. We all had three bags. Except Aaron who was trying to push the huge crate that held his drums. I smirked.

"Hey Aaron you know that’s our ride right?" I asked pointing at the tinny cab that the orphanage had sent for us.

"Shit," he said and opened the crate, "would you guys mind if we carried the drums in

our laps or something?" I just laughed and shook my head. He refused to send his drum set by UPS. So we squashed our luggage guitars and base into the back, my keyboard came via UPS, and squashed into the back with Aaron’s set.

"Honestly Kate, where do you get your clothes? I really like that jacket maybe in gray plaid for me." Bridget asked trying to make polite conversation. But I couldn’t really tell her it was from the 1950s and wasn’t made anymore. But her mind was somewhere else anyways it was saying something like: I wonder if there will be cute guys at the orphanage? ‘Course none of them will be as good looking as Maxi. Bridge had always secretly fancied Maxi. Maxi had no idea, he was blissfully unaware of how good looking he was… when it came to human guys.

The rest of the ride was spent in silence. I had one of my two favorite songs on repeat, which also was our biggest hit. I guess the public really liked Afterlife in a girl’s voice. Who knew?

Anyways I lost myself in the complicated melody. Until we got to the place we would

be staying, (unless we were adopted. Not likely.)Walking in was like walking into hell. Everything was way too perfect, not a scratch any where.

"Aren’t there supposed to be munchkins?" Aaron whispered. He always called kids munchkins, Maxi called them "little people". That’s when the devil herself decided to appear, at the top of the stairs.

"Welcome, welcome!!!"

"Hide your instruments as soon as we get into our rooms." I whispered. Her mind was sending off "I hate music and there’s nothing you can do about it" waves. Aaron looked at me and then his drums and made an exasperated sigh.

"I’ll be off milady." The driver said. Maxi was thinking about he didn’t want to be left alone with this witch. My thoughts were around there to. Thinking ahead, I hide my iPod in the pocket inside my coat, so she couldn’t take it away.

"Sign these all of you." She said sterner now that there were no adults in the room other than her. "Rooms girl’s to the left boy’s right." She said indicating two hallways. "HENRY!!! PATTY!!! Show these kids to there room. I’ll give you tonight to unpack. Tomorrow we’ll have a meeting about rules and regulations." She said sounding like the devil herself. You’re probably thinking "Hey that doesn’t sound to bad every place has rules." Well you didn’t hear her or her thoughts. Her mind was channeled to the "I hate kids" station.

As soon as Patty, Bridge and I were out of the Devil’s ear shot. I asked Patty where we could hide our instruments.

"So you picked up on that huh? Well we have a place where you could stash your guitars but we won’t be able to fit the drums up there. A bit of warning the director, the lady you just met, is most likely posed by a demon." Patty said, "Oh and my name’s not Patty. She calls me that because it bugs me, the names Patrice."

"Much better," Bridge said with a nerves laugh.

"I picked up on the demon thing too. Patrice, how bad is the rules." I only asked because Devil lady wasn’t thinking about the rules when we were introduced.

"Goodness you get right to the point, don’t you? Patricia don’t worry she’s not normally this rude. I’m Bridget, and this is Kate." Bridget said she wasn’t really paying attention to what I asked. I just shook my head and put my headphones in. Patrice’s thoughts had immediately gone to the rules when I asked. Apparently all we were allowed to do was eat, sleep, clean, and do homework.

Damn this was going to suck.
