“Bella!” As soon as I heard the voice I ran over Alice and hugged her.

“Alice! Alice you’re here!” I cried. I couldn’t believe that Alice was truly there. I expected to wake up any second to see that it was only a dream. I closed and opened my eyes a few times to make sure. Alice seemed to realize what I was doing and rolled her eyes.

“I’m here Bella, and I should never of left,” she said soothingly. I cried into her shoulder. She tensed as she remembered the situation. “Bella, get behind me,” she muttered. I did as I was told and stood behind Alice. Beck came out of her shock and ran next to Alice. Jonathan, Victoria and James didn’t seem to like that the odds were evened out and quickly exchanged glances with each other. They suddenly disappeared except for Victoria who ran off. As soon as they were gone, Alice and Beck seemed to relax.

“Alice, how did you know to find me?” I asked confused. She must have really good timing.

“Bella, you seem to have forgotten my power.” Oh, well that was obvious. My brain must not of be working…. “You have some explaining to do, Bella,” Alice said more seriously. She eyed Beck curiously.

“Oh yes! Alice this Beck my…guardian angel,” I said timidly. I wasn’t sure if Alice would believe me, but she seemed to take the news good enough.

“Hi, I’m Alice,” Alice said reaching her arm out.

“I’m Beck,” Beck said shaking Alice’s hand. We all stood there awkwardly for a few moments before Beck spoke up. “Well, we need a new plan now. Since Alice showed up, all you have to do now is find out where Edward is,” she said cheerfully as if my mission just became a whole lot easier. Alice looked deep in thought and had a far away look in her eyes. She suddenly woke up and blinked her eyes a few times.

“Wow…that was…interesting…” Alice said looking at Beck oddly.

“What?” Beck asked.

“Oh, it’s…nothing,” Alice said, snickering a little at the end.

“Really, what?” Beck asked laughing a little.

“You’ll find out, pretty soon,” Alice said. She chuckled a few more times then looked over to me. “I think I may know where Edward is, Bella.”

“Really? Where?” I asked eagerly. I jumped on Alice asking her over and over again to tell me.

“Calm down, Bella! I’m not even sure if he’s there or not!”

“Where?!” I yelled.

“He may be in Denali…”

“Then let’s go!” I screamed.

“Hold on!” Alice yelled at me. “Let me make a call first!” Alice took out her cell phone and dialed. I heard it ring a few times before it was answered. “Hello?….Yah it’s me….no everything’s fine….is Edward still there?….then where is he?…..what? Why?……okay…..bye.” Alice hung up the phone and sighed as she put in away.

“So…..?”

“He’s not there anymore,” Alice said regretfully. After seeing my expression she quickly added, “but he may be in Montana.”

“Why?”

“He’s probably tracking Victoria,” Alice said, chuckling to herself. “He’s not doing a very good job is he?”

“Montana? Let’s go!” I yelled out. Alice rolled her eyes at me.

“Can’t you wait for a few minutes? He’s not there yet! We have a day at least,” Alice stated.

“We can’t stay here,” Beck said. She was being so quiet I forgot that she was there. “The demons will come back later, that’s for certain. We have to move.”

“Yes…” Alice and Beck started to discuss where we were going to go next. After a few minutes, my stomach started to grumble. “But first, food for the human.” Alice and Beck led me to a diner a block away. We were seated quickly and they started to talk again.

“Can demons die?” Alice asked.

“Well, no. But if they do a very bad job then they can be fired. They just go back to being regular dead people.”

“Oh…So…how long have you known Jonathan?” Alice asked interested. Beck looked confused to why she was asking, but answered anyway.

“A very, very long time,” Beck said rolling her eyes. “Every time I get assigned to someone, he’s always there. I think he takes his job too seriously.”

“Why are Heaven and Hell fighting?”

“Isn’t it obvious?”

“No.”

“It’s like werewolves and vampires. They hate ach other, but they don’t know why.”

“Oh. Can’t there be peace?”

“Probably.”

“Huh.”

“Hello, can I help you?” a friendly voice called. The waitress was standing at the table waiting for our order.

“Uh…” I skimmed through the menu, since I forgot to look through it before. “I’ll have the…spaghetti,” I said just picking something.

“Okay, Hun.” She looked at Beck and Alice, but they refused food. The waitress walked away and Beck and Alice resumed their conversation.

“When do you think the demons will attack again?”

“I’m not sure. But it will probably be soon. They’re probably seeing their window of opportunity closing.”

“Hmmm….” Alice said, closing her eyes. She suddenly opened them. “We have to go.”

“Why?” I asked confused. My food didn’t arrive yet.

“They’re going to attack. Soon. They even poisoned your food,” Alice said disgusted. “Come on.” We ran out of the restaurant and down the side walk.

“Where are we going?” I asked. Alice and Beck looked at each other.

“The airport,” Alice said. We rounded the corner and Alice stopped suddenly. “We need a car,” she stated. She ran around the corner and in a few minutes she was driving back with a Ford. “Come on!” she yelled at us. We got in the car and before we could buckle up, Alice took off. We got to the highway in seconds. But there was a black car behind us the entire way. Alice drove faster, somehow navigating between the cars.

Due to Alice’s reckless driving, we were at the air port in seconds. We got out as quickly as we could and ran inside the airport. Alice bought tickets to Montana and the attendant looked at us funny when we didn’t have any bags. We didn’t see Jonathan or James anywhere around, but Alice and Beck didn’t let their guards down.

It took a few minutes for the plane to come in, and we hurried on as soon as possible. My anticipation grew as the plane took off, hopefully headed for Edward
