A sparkle of light,

Encapsulated in dark,

Something to live for.

A miniscule star,

A beacon in the night sky,

Something to live for.

A glimmer of hope,

In the caverns of despair,

Something to live for.

I left for my son,

All I cared about was him,

And now he is gone.

The star's disappeared,

No more glimmers or sparkles,

Just darkness. Nothing.

I jump.
