Chapter 7: The Confrontation . . . A.K.A. When hearts are broken, and when hearts are mended.

Let’s Recap: My eyes followed the muscular hand up, up, up until I reached his eyes.As I noticed the golden color, I froze. And with that, my very heart, mind, and soul broke into tiny little pieces.

I gasped, staring into Jasper’s eyes.

Emily quickly realized what was going on, and grabbed Jasper by the collar.

“I swear to God,” she whispered in his ear ferociously. “If you say a single word, I will tear your guts out, rip you apart, and burn the pieces.”

I must admit, Emily was speaking the truth.

She was more murderous and evil and devilish than that of a new born.

It was like she was made to kill.

And she was.

“Bella?” Jasper asked, clearly underestimating Emily’s short skirt and knee-high socks—with the play boy bunny on them.

My eyes narrowed.

“Cullen.” I acknowledged, but then realized I sounded like Mike Newton—too late.

“Bella!” Jasper cried, pulling me into a bear hug.

To my absolute HORROR, the sound of his voice attracted four certain vampires . . .

Who walked over.

My absolute horror.

Emily could tell I was about to run forward, and follow through on Emily’s threat—just on different people—so she held me back.

Or vampires.

Just then, I saw Taylor coming round the corner. . . .

Justin at her heels.

And Taylor in tears.

Or, well, dry tears.

But still tears.

Instead of looking at Taylor, I looked straight ahead.

Alice, looking as if she had let herself go, wearing stuff that never was in, and never will, looked as if she was about to run forward and throw herself at me.

Edward, still amazing, looked sad, yet . . . Happy?

Rosalie actually looked sad!

Almost as if she missed me . . .

Then they were in front of me.

Alice’s lip was quivering.

“B-B-Bella?” she asked, her voice breaking.

At this, my heart broke.

My heart may be hard and unmoving but. . . .

How could someone not cry at that?

I immediately pulled her into a hug, not being able to help myself.

She was Alice, and I loved her.

She was amazing in every way, and so loveable.

Alice was Alice.

Edward was Edward.

Emily was Emily.

Taylor was Taylor.

Rosalie was Rosalie.

Esme was Esme.

Emmett was Emmett.

Destiny is destiny.

Destiny is Destiny.

Fate is Fate.

And there is nothing I could ever do to change that.

But I wanted to.

“Bella,” Edward whispered, unbelieving.

“Oh, Edward, you’re so stupid!” Alice suddenly said, beginning to lecture him.

I was confused.

“Alice? But . . . I thought you didn’t want me anymore? That’s why you guys left, remember?” I asked.

Emily nodded.

“What? We did not! Edward just wanted to protect you, remember?” Alice said, looking at us.

If Edward could blush, he would have.

“Well, actually Alice, I told Bella we didn’t want her anymore.”

I was beyond confused.

“What’s going on?” I demanded.

Alice’s face softened.

Then she slapped Edward across the face.

“What the hell?!” she screamed, her face becoming as hard as a rock.

If that were possible.

But it isn’t because her face is already as hard as a rock.

So how can it become as hard as one?

Enough with my ranting/questioning.

Let’s get this over with.

Edward rubbed his cheek.

“What was that for?!”

“For being a bitch!” Alice yelled.

“Classy,” I murmured.

“Do you think this is funny?!” Alice yelled, turning toward me, her eyes a-blazing.

I cowered, when suddenly Emily was in front of me.

This time it was Alice’s turn to cower.

Hey, it’s not Alice’s fault.

Emily can be as scary as a pit-bull.

“Em,” I whispered, putting my hand on her shoulder. “Relax. Alice was just getting worked up.”

Emily took a deep breath, just like her anger management class always tells her too.

“Finally you listen,” I joked.

“This is not a time for joking around!” Emily hissed. “I really don’t like you’re . . . Uh, friends.

“Em,” I sighed wearily.

“I know, I know,” Emily muttered. “But when you’re done with them, can I kill them?”

I rolled my eyes, used to Em’s childish antics.

“Bella,” Edward murmured.

“It’s Coco!” Emily yelled at him, exploding like a fricking volcano.

She stalked forward till she was right in his face.

“If you fucking think that we are just gonna let you break Coco’s heart again, you better think twice. If you think we are just gonna hand her over, then--”

I pulled her away.

“I think I can handle this.” I whispered in her ear.

Then I took a spot in front of Edward.

“What do you want?” I asked, my voice strangely calm.

“You,” he whispered, his voice shaking.

“But why?” I asked. “Why did you leave me?”

“I love you. But you were in danger! I could kill you!” Edward said, on the verge of dry-tears.

“I love you too,” I whispered. “But I need a little more time.”

“I’ll give you all the time you need. Just be with me.” He said.

Now, I know this is cheesy.

And the prince vampire and princess vampires lived happily ever . . .
