Blind

Summary:
This is Recklessness in Edward's POV; it's quite a bit longer and has some extra scenes in it that are not in Bella's POV. As always though, it's a lot more interesting.

I was struggling so hard to control my temper towards Emmett's childish comments and remarks every two seconds. I tried to block it out, but it was either block that out or deal with the pain of resisting Bella's blood.

Emmett eventually said, amused, "God, this is making me so thirsty. I feel so parched. I really need to smack a bitch. Hey, Bella, you mind?" He gestured towards Bella's neck with his head and licked his lips with a smirk.

I growled angrily, "EMMETT!! STOP messing around! That is not funny!"

Emmett and Bella burst out lauging and Bella said, carelessly, "Calm down, Edward; he was kidding."

I glared at Emmett, who shrugged apologetically. 'Sorry, I'll stop.' He thought.

I rolled my eyes and he smiled, "Don't be such a brat! Come on, we have to know. I will not let my baby brother settle for a chick who scares easy." Like that was ever an issue. "We have to see how strong she is."

Like that could ever be an issue. She was the strongest human I had ever met. Sometimes, I couldn't help but think that her strength far surpassed my own.

I shook my head, "Emmett, you're a pig."

'Took you this long to figure that out?' He thought, as he shrugged proudly and said, "I know."

Bella chuckled softly and said, "Come on, Edward, stop being so emo."

Emmett burst out laughing so hard the room was shaking from the impact.

"Emo," he gasped through his laughter.

I simply glared angrily at their careless approach to such a serious matter when Bella said, "You do know what 'emo' means, right?"

"I know what 'emo' means; I'm not that out of the loop." I protested, irritably.

Desperate to calm me down, Emmett said, "Calm down, Edward. Count to ten and take a deep breath."

As angry as I was, curiosity got the best of me and I simply stared at him, waiting for an explanation.

"That's what Yoga says to do," he said, defensively, while thinking: 'And by 'Yoga', I mean 'Jasper.'

I joined Bella in amused laughter, causing them both to freeze and stare at me. "You're an idiot, Emmett!"

Emmett smiled proudly, "I am an idiot! But, I love it. It's so much better than being boring."

I shook my head, unable to NOT forgive him. "You're lucky I love you."

'Aw, thanks. I love you, too, little bro. Although, I must say, I think I should take over protecting Bella; I'd do a much better job than you.' He nodded, raised his eyebrows, and smirked.

Bella shook her head, "Now can we finish this movie?"

Emmett and I nodded and stared at her, both thinking the same thing: how truly amazing and strong she was.

A couple of hours later, the movie was over and Bella and I were getting ready to leave.

Emmett followed us out, "Well, it was fun having you over, Bella. Please come back. You are the only human I can stand to be around. It's different. It's interesting."

She chuckled, "Absolutely. Thanks, Emmett. Can I just say that if I had had an older brother, I would've wanted you."

'I want you as a little sister, too, but somebody is too damn stubborn to let me. You know, I could totally protect her, Edward. I'm stronger than you are.' He thought, bitterly towards me.

I snarled so that Bella couldn't hear it, but Emmett simply ignored me.

"Well, duh!" He said to Bella, in an obvious-tone, "Everyone wants me as an older brother. I'm the best. They don't come any better."

I snorted and he said, "You shush," irritably, smiling. "Edward, I have to say, of all the girls that have wanted to date you, she's definitely the best. You have my full approval." 'I couldn't ask for a better girl for my favorite little brother.'

I nodded once in total agreement, causing Bella to blush slightly. Emmett and I laughed in response, and then he said, "Bye, Bella."

"Bye," she called back as I led her outside.

I helped her into the car and then we took off almost immediately.
