Edward Cullen

It was around four in the afternoon when I headed up to me and Bella’s room for something to do. Bella and Kara were dragged off to go shopping with Alice and Esme, Jasper was sent grocery shopping for Bella, Kara and Ruby, Emmett and Rosalie were hunting and Carlisle was at the hospital. That left Ruby and I…

I really needed to fix this rift with Ruby and I.

I went down the hall and was about to knock on the door when I heard Ruby’s voice.

“C’mon over! There’s no one home, just me! Please!? Yes! Bring the equipment!” she was grinning like crazy, holding a phone, when she stepped out of her room and ran into me.

“No one’s home?” I raised an eyebrow.

“Oh, it’s you. Move it, Jackass.” She hissed, shoving past me.

“Who’s coming over? I hope it’s not that boy that, you know, well…” I trailed off hoping she would get it.

“Knocked me up?” she suggested. I nodded.

“Well, who’s coming?” I asked.

“Some friends.” She muttered.

“And the part about bringing the equipment?” I asked.

“Ever heard of privacy?” she growled.

The doorbell rang, silencing our disagreement. Ruby went to answer it. There in the doorway, stood three boys.

“And these boys are….?” I murmured.

“If you must know,” she sighed. “This is Eli, Ian and Seth.”

Apparently Ian was the one with the shaggy blond hair. Eli also had shaggy brown hair, and Seth had longish black hair.

“Are you Bella’s new man?” Seth asked. Ruby smacked his arm and the other boys laughed and went to get something out of the car. They came back with a set of drums, two guitars, an amp, and a microphone.

So this was the band…

“You can go now.” Ruby hissed. I smiled down at her in hopes of what Bella called, dazzling. She didn’t seem to go for it, because she still pointed toward the stairs. I reluctantly pretended to go up to my room. But I really stopped half way up the stairs so I could get a good look at them. Ian grabbed a guitar, along with Ruby, while Eli went for the drums. Ruby tossed Seth the microphone and the whole room filled with music. Loud music….

“Grown up
She just turned 16
Stuck in the moment
Dead at the scene
And it's on tonight
This is the life that you wanted, right?
So turn off all the lights
Dressed up just like a movie star
At all the parties they'll know who you are
Wouldn't it be great, to be fashionably late?
So why don't you wait, till you're sedated

Don't it feel like something's not right in his kiss tonight?

Yeah what I'm saying is do you, do you want to lose it all?
Cause this is more than just a dance hall drug
You can't wait to fall in love
All I'm saying is do you, do you want to learn to fly?
Then you should pack it up and say goodbye
Cause when the push comes to the shove
It's just a dance hall drug.” Ruby and Seth stared at each other. Her strumming her guitar and Seth circling around her, singing.

“Step in and you can lock the door
The candles are lit and the clothes on the floor
You could take a chance on finding romance
Now you're holding hands
But he's got other plans
Tick-tock, the clock is turning red
The room won't stop spinning and thoughts in your head
And it's too late
You feel like you're making a big mistake
You should've waited

Don't it feel like something's not right in his kiss tonight?” Ruby was jumping up and down, grinning like crazy.

“Yeah what I'm saying is do you, do you want to lose it all?
Cause this is more than just a dance hall drug
You can't wait to fall in love
All I'm saying is do you, do you want to learn to fly?
Then you should pack it up and say goodbye
Cause when the push comes to the shove
It's just a dance hall drug

Just wait, love
Show 'em what you're made of

Don't it feel like something's not right in his kiss tonight?

Do you, do you want to lose it all?
Cause this is more than just a dance hall drug
You can't wait to fall in love
All I'm saying is do you, do you want to learn to fly?
Then you should pack it up and say goodbye
Cause when the push comes to the shove
It's just a dance hall drug
Do you, do you want to lose it all?
Cause this is more than just a dance hall drug
You can't wait to fall in love” By this time, the whole band had joined in. Geez, first song and there already so into it?
“All I'm saying is do you, do you want to learn to fly?
Then you should pack it up and say goodbye
Cause when the push comes to the shove
It's just a dance hall drug” When that song ended, I was completely stunned. Ruby was so into her guitar, it was mesmerizing. She played that thing like her life depended on it. “It’s her outlet.” I then noticed that Bella was standing on the stairs. When did they get back? Ruby then started a new song. This one, more quiet then the last one.

“It's too late baby, there's no turning around
I've got my hands in my pocket and my head in a cloud
This is how I do
When I think about you
I never thought that you could break me apart
I keep a sinister smile and a hold of my heart
You want to get inside
Then you can get in line
But not this time

Cause you caught me off guard
Now I'm running and screaming

I feel like a hero and you are my heroine

I won't try to philosophize
I'll just take a deep breath and I'll look in your eyes
This is how I feel
And it's so surreal
I got a closet filled up to the brim
With the ghosts of my past and the skeletons
And I don't know why
You'd even try
But I won't lie

You caught me off guard
Now I'm running and screaming

I feel like a hero and you are my heroine
Do you know that your love is the sweetest sin?

And I feel a weakness coming on
Never felt so good to be so wrong
Had my heart on lockdown
And then you turned me around
I'm feeling like a new born child
Every time I get a chance to see you smile
It's not complicated
I was so jaded

And you caught me off guard
Now I'm running and screaming

I feel like a hero and you are my heroine
Do you know that your love is the sweetest sin?

(I feel like a hero and you are my heroine)
And I feel a weakness coming on
Never felt so good to be so wrong
Had my heart on lockdown
And then you turned me around
(Do you know that your love is the sweetest sin?)
I'm feeling like a new born child
Every time I get a chance to see you smile
It's not complicated
I was so jaded

And you caught me off guard
Now I'm running and screaming

(I feel like a hero and you are my heroine)
And I feel a weakness coming on
Never felt so good to be so wrong
Had my heart on lockdown
And then you turned me around
(Do you know that your love is the sweetest sin?)
I'm feeling like a new born child
Every time I get a chance to see you smile
It's not complicated
I was so jaded”

The whole song, Seth stared at Ruby with pure adoration in his eyes. It kind of made me want to wring his little neck. Not sure why, his thoughts were completely innocent. The next song started and I then noticed Alice and Esme were standing with us.

“Paper bags and plastic hearts
All are belongings in shopping carts
It's goodbye
But we got one more night
Let's get drunk and ride around
And make peace with an empty town
We can make it right

Throw it away
Forget yesterday
We'll make the great escape
We won't hear a word they say
They don't know us anyway
Watch it burn
Let it die
Cause we are finally free tonight

Tonight will change our lives
It's so good to be by your side
But we'll cry
We won't give up the fight
We'll scream loud at the top of our lungs
And they'll think it's just cause we're young
And we'll feel so alive

Throw it away
Forget yesterday
We'll make the great escape”

Ruby had then started singing with him. She was fantastic in harmony with him, I could only imagine what she was like alone!

“We won't hear a word they say
They don't know us anyway
Watch it burn
Let it die
Cause we are finally free tonight

All of the wasted time
The hours that were left behind
The answers that we'll never find
They don't mean a thing tonight”

Ruby had a guitar solo here. Seth was grinning down at her and thinking along the lines of God, she’s amazing…

“Throw it away
Forget yesterday
We'll make the great escape
We won't hear a word they say
They don't know us anyway

Throw it away
Forget yesterday
We'll make the great escape
We won't hear a word they say
They don't know us anyway

Throw it away
Forget yesterday
We'll make the great escape
We won't hear a word they say
They don't know us anyway
Watch it burn
Let it die
Cause we are finally free tonight”

Ruby grinning up at Seth, while he pretended to bow to the audience they thought they didn’t have.

“That’s one of her favorites.” Bella whispered. Jasper was back by now as were Emmett and Rosalie. Even Carlisle had heard the music across town and had come to join us!

“Last one for today, boys!” Ruby called as she took the microphone from Seth. He took her guitar.

“We are not boys! We are men! C’mon, Roo, get it right!” Ian laughed. She flipped him off, laughing herself.

“I'm sitting in a room
Made up of only big white walls
And in the halls
There are people looking through
The win... the window
Though they know exactly what we're here for
Don't look up just let them think
There's no place else you'd rather be

You're always on display
For everyone to watch and learn from
Don't you know by now
You can't turn back
Because this road is all you'll ever have

It's obvious that you're dying, dying
Just living proof that the camera's lying
And oh oh open wide
Cause this is your night so smile
Cause you'll go out in style
You'll go out in style

If you let me I could
I'd show you how to build your fences
Set restrictions
Separate from the world
The constant battle that you hate to fight
Just blame the limelight

Don't look up just let them think
There's no place else you'd rather be in now
You can't turn back
Because this road is all you'll ever have

It's obvious that you're dying, dying
Just living proof that the camera's lying
And oh oh open wide
This is your night so smile

Yeah yeah you're asking for it
With every breath that you breathe in
Just breathe it in
Yeah yeah well you're just a mess
You do all this big talking
So now let's see you walk in.
I said let's see you walk in

Yeah yeah well you're just a mess
You do all this big talking
So now let's see you walk in
I said let's see you walk in

It's obvious that you're dying, dying
Just living proof that the camera's lying
And oh oh open wide
You're oh oh open wide
You're oh oh open wide
Cause you'll go out in style
You'll go out in style.”

Holy mother fucking god! Emmett thought. I couldn’t help but start clapping. I walked down the stairs and turned to face a completely furious Ruby. I think she actually gave Jasper a heart attack when the rest of us emerged.

“What the hell?” She yelled.

“Ruby, that was fucking awesome!” Emmett laughed, picking her up and swinging her around.

“Put me down!” Ruby screamed.

“Dude, nobody touches her.” Eli chuckled.

“Is that why she’s pregnant?” Rosalie smiled smugly.
