That day when Edweird came to pick me up from school, he attempted to make small talk with me. Worst idea ever.

"So, how was school today?" he asked, faking interest.

"I threw up in the bathroom all of fifth period and I confronted the dude that inpregnated me and argued with him all of lunch so I've been starving all day, considering I missed breakfast because I was hacking my guts out all morning." I answered as nonchalantly as I could manage.

"Oh, well, um, how did that go with your, uh, friend?" He asked, trying again.

"Well, he pushed me into a wall, then when I told him I was pregnant he babbled about how we needed an apartment and welfare, then he accused me of saying he couldnt see his kid and threatened to take me to court. When I re explained what I said, he walked away." I told him, casually. He looked very frustrated that he couldnt get a normal answer.

"Ah, ok, so, um, how are you feeling?" Third times the charm.

"Well, my feet are swollen, my stomach hurts and I'm dying to eat some macaroni." I truthful right there. I was dying for some macoroni.

"Oh, well, I'm sorry, Ok, so, your mom tells me that your up for valedictorian. That's impressive." Ah, he was trying a different approach. Compliments.

"Yeah, I am. But probably not for long, you know, with having to go threw with this whole pregnancy thing and then having to raise a kid, that's pretty time consuming. My grades will probably slip and I'll probably be bottom of my class by senior year." That was it, you could see it in his eyes.

"Ruby, I think we started off on the wrong foot. I know you dont like me, but really, could you tell me why?" He asked, looking pitifully desperate.

"Let me see. You left my mother heartbroken at eighteen, and to make herself feel better she slept with a guy she forced herself to be in love with, ending up with me. Then when said guy left her, she marries a dead beat with an alchohal problem so that we would be supported moneywise. She was so weak because of everything she'd been threw that she let him abuse her and me, on his drunken rages. And this all started with what?" I raised an eyebrow at him. We were pulling into the driveway as I finished. He stared ahead for a very long time before I heard him whisper nearly inaudibly,

Bella Swan

Ruby came in the house looking smug, and Edward trailed in behind her looking sullen. He was a Sullen Cullen.

"What's wrong?" I asked him as he picked me up and set me in his lap.

"Ruby just gave me her insight on this whole matter." He sighed, closing his eyes.

"And?" I know Ruby can be stubborn as hell, but so can he.

"She gave me a logical explanation on how this whole thing is...all my fault." He answered, quietly.

Oh geez, not again.

"Edward, this isnt your fault. This was all me. I should have made better choices and I should have been watching Ruby more closely. No way is this on your shoulders." I soothed him, hugging his waist.

"As long as you see it that way." He muttered to himself angrily, but still smiling slightly.

Carlisle Cullen

I heard Kara and Ruby talking when I came in the hallway to their room.

"So, how'd it go?" Kara asked.

"With what?" Ruby asked, sounding bored.

"Daddy of the year, Brendon, your ex lover. How'd it go?" Kara pressed.

"Fine. Just absolutely perfect beyond imagination." Ruby answered, sarcasm clear in her voice.

Nobody said anything for a few seconds and I took that as my chance to knock.

Kara opened the door slightly, obviously seeing if it was someone that was going to annoy Ruby. When she saw me, she opened the door all the way and grinned.

"Hey, Carlisle. Whats up?" She asked as I walked into the room. Ruby was laying on the bed watching Vh1, eating twisted cheetos. She looked up at me and smiled.

"Hey, doc." she chirped.

"Glad to see your in a good mood." I smiled.

"Not really. I'm in the exact oppisite mood multiplied my twenty zillion, but your not as annoying as everyone else in the house." She laughed.

"Glad to hear it. Listen, Roo, considering your condition and your symptoms lately, I think it would be best if I checked to see how far along you are and prescribe you some pre natel vitamins." I explained.

"Ah, I see. Ok, whatever. Right now, work for you?" She asked, getting up and already walking out of the room. I followed her up to my study. She went over and sat on my desk. Normally that would bother me, considering there were three chairs right there, but for some reason, I really liked Ruby. She was a funny, sweet kid who just made a bad choice.

"Ok, lets get started." I laughed.

Ruby Oliver

"Okay, Ruby, it seems that you are about three or four months along. Now, you're starting to show more and more each day, so I would advise you to go clothes shopping, because your going to stretch your clothing otherwise. Here are some vitamins, take them once a day (?) and you'll be good to go. In a couple weeks you'll be able to find out the gender, I'll tell you when its time. You can go ahead and resme whatever you were doing." He told me, hugging my shoulder.

"Thanks, doc." I smiled. I didnt feel like going back to my room, it was kind of hot in there and I could smell Kara'a soap from a mile away, it was making me sick. Plus, I still wanted some macaroni.

When I walked into the kitchen, Emmett and Jasper were sitting at the counter playing cards. I hadnt seen Rosalie at all since yesturday, which wasnt a bad thing at all. Esme was in the garden, I could see her out the back door. Mom and Edweird were in his room doing god knows what. Alice was watching house hunters in the living room with Kara. Those two had really hit it off.

"Do you have any three's?" Jasper asked.

"Go fish." Emmett said proudly. I looked over his shoulder at his cards and saw he had four sevens and three fives. I held up seven fingers to Jasper and he winked when Emmett looked away.

They went on with their game, and I fixed my self a whole box of mac and cheese. I put it in a plastic green bowl and poured myself some coke. I went out to the living room and ate my food with Kara and Alice, watching TV.

"So, Alice," I said after I was done. "I was thinking, maybe I should go shopping for maternity clothes, cause my clothes arent going to be fitting me real soon and-"

"Aggghhhh, say no more, we'll go right now!" She squeled. "Go get ready and I'll get your mom and Esme. Kara you too, get ready. You have five minutes."

Kara and I went upstairs and searched our closet for something to wear. Kara put on a black camisol with a red V neck sweater. She had on black baggy jeans and she pulled her hair back in a pony tail, letting her bangs fall in her eyes. She had black converse's on with silver little squiggles she did one day in silver sharpie when she was bored.

I put on light blue skinny jeans and a big green tee shirt that said green is the new black. Kara hated it. I usually wore it to bed, but this shirt was perfect to hide my stomach. I put on my green converses and I put a black headband in my hair. I brushed it out a little and put on some eyeliner so it didnt look like I didnt sleep last night.

We went downstairs and found Alice, Mom and Esme standing in the foyer waiting for us. Alice was tapping her foot impatiently, and when she saw us she rushed us out to the car. She was trying to hide something, I just knew it. I was a master at hiding things. Not.
