Ruby Oliver

After Kara had talked me inside the house, Emmett and Jasper helped us with our stuff. I only had about eight boxes. And five of them were my clothes and shower stuff. One had my comforter, my two pillows and sheets in it and one had a bunch of knickknacks. The last one had special stuff like some pictures of my family and Kara and me. Plus, my jewelry box that my grandma gave me for my thirteenth birthday. It had my diamond earrings that she gave me for my fourteenth and my various wild jewelry, along with my birthstone necklace (Amethyst). That’s one of the few things my dad left me. He also left me his leather jacket, a few pictures and some of his favorite T shirts.

Kara had three suitcases with her. Two had her clothes and the third had her blankets and her laptop.

We loaded the stuff into the room. It was huge! There were two queen sized beds, both black. That Kara liked. The walls were painted dark blue. That worked, because my bedding was blue with black stars and Kara’s was black with blue stars. There were two black dressers, both six drawers. There was a bookshelf in the corner with DVDs and videos along with a few books here and there. There was also a shelf of CD’s above it.

There was a plasma screen TV hanging on the wall and a stereo system on one wall.

Kara found a closet too. We walked inside and it was almost as big as the room. It had two racks of clothes on either side and a couple of full body mirrors and a two vanity are stocked with make up, hair care supplies, lotions, shower gels and accessories. And the whole closet was full of somebody’s clothes.

“You like?” I high pitched voice asked behind me. I jumped ten feet in the air, while Kara ran over to hug Alice.

“I love!” she screamed. “But whose clothes are these?”

“Yours!” Alice laughed. “I went shopping. I thought you might like some extra clothes.”

When the hell did she do that?

“The left side is Kara’s and the right side is Ruby’s. The Vanity with the darker make up is Kara’s and the one with the brighter make up is Ruby’s. And there’s a bathroom through that door. Two showers and two bathtubs.” She smiled. She was pointing at a door on the back wall of the closet.

“Thanks, Alice!” I sighed. I had nothing against anyone but mom’s man. Alice was so much fun, Esme was really sweet, Emmett was funny, Jasper was nice and Carlisle was helpful. Rosalie was just a bitch though. And Edward was an utter bastard.

“Your welcome!” she sang. Then she leaned down and whispered in my ear “There’s a little door behind your clothes. It’s full of snacks and sodas and stuff. I heard you liked junk food.” I laughed and thanked her again.

She whispered something in Kara’s ear and she squealed. She had something too.

When Alice left us alone to unpack we started talking.

“I have junk food!” I sang.

“So do I!” Kara laughed. Even if she was a gothic freak, she had bubliness that Alice couldn’t even match!

I put all of my clothes in the dresser as did Kara with hers. Kara stuck all her music on the shelf. Her music was mostly Three days grace, Bullet fot my valentine andPanic! At the disco. I had a lot of Boys like girls and Paramore. Along with a bit of All time low, Plain white T’s and a few mix CD’s I made.

I organized my books on the bookcase. I loved to read, just like my mom. My favorite books were Lets get lost by Sara Manning, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, Good ghouls guide to getting even by Julie Kenner, Crank, Glass, Impulse, and Burned by Ellen Hopkins.

I had a lot of other books too, but those were my favorites.

I put on my sheets and my blanket. Then I organized my stuff on my dresser. I put my framed picture of Kara and Me on the bookcase and another couple on me and Kara’s dressers. I put a few pictures of my mom and I around the room along with in the closet. Kara was putting up a few pictures of her younger sister, Tessa.

And finally, I got out the three pictures of my dad I had. I put one on my dresser, one on my vanity and one hanging on the wall next to my bed.

Kara was putting up our posters when I went to explore the closet. I knew it was late, but I didn’t feel like sleeping. I wasn’t tired.

I went through my vanity to find pricey designer make up and crap. There were three baskets on the shelf next to it. They were filled with soaps, shampoos, conditioners, shower gels and lotions.

And they were all my favorites. Weird, right?

All the clothes Alice got fit me perfectly. They all looked amazing on me too! I even found some sweatshirts that would cover a baby bump for a while. And a few pairs of jeans that would fit my pregnant ass later on, along with some slightly too big shirts that would work. There were shoes all along the bottom of my clothes. There were Chucks, a couple pairs of Converse’s, a few different colored flats, and a lot of high heels.

I put my favorite pair of beat up old Chucks in there, along with my only pair of heels. I put my shampoo in my designated shower along with the soap I brought. I put jewelry box on the shelf with the baskets and went through the new accessories.

There were some pretty wild headbands, multi colored bracelets, some necklaces, and a few nice looking rings and there were even a couple boxes of hair dye! Yes! I could finally dye the tips of my bangs blue! Yay!

Kara came in not long after this little discovery and we went through our food banks. There were Twinkies, muffins, chocolates, chips, and there was even a little refrigerated section with little quarts of ice cream and lots of sodas! Dr. Pepper! My favorite!

I think it was around three in the morning when Kara finally crashed. She was conked out on her bed, still fully clothed. I put on my old sweats and an old T shirt of my dad’s. It said some shit about football. I went down the hall and opened the only other door on this floor. My mom was asleep and I expected Edward to be too, but he stared at me, curiously.

“May I help you?” he asked, seeming amused.

“Just checking on my mom,” I hissed. “Making sure you haven’t, like, ax murdered her yet.”

He glared at me, losing all traces of humor. “Do you have a problem with me?” he growled.

“Whatever gave you that idea?” I asked, innocently. He rolled his eyes and got up.

“You seem angry with me.” He pointed out.

“I have a right to be.” I smiled, evilly.

“And why is that?” he raised an eyebrow.

“You screwed my mother’s life. You left, she died. Well, in the figurative sense.” I explained.

“I suppose.” He nodded, amused.

“Oh, don’t look so happy. You can take that grin and-”

“Edward?” mom was sitting up in bed. “Roo?”

“Yes, my darling mother?” I asked, sweetly.

“It’s, like, four in the morning, Roo! Go back to bed!” she exclaimed, lying back down.

“Well, it’s been fun.” I whispered. He glowered still, but nodded. I turned to leave and went silently back to my room.
