La Tua Cantante

Summary:
As usual, this will come in two parts: Edward's pov and Bella's, but the first is always Bella's. I got this idea from watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, when Angel got shot with a poisoned arrow and has to drink Buffy's blood to survive. This is pretty much mid-Eclipse and the Volturi infected Edward with a disease called "Distruzione" (Italian for "Destruction") which only affects vampires and he will die unless he drinks the blood of his la tua cantante, which is Bella. This is just more hardships for Edward and Bella to fight through, but as always, they fight it together and never give up.

There are some adult-themed situations, so unfortunately this fanfic will have to be rated Adult instead of Everyone. Sorry to my younger fans, but please, exercise caution when reading this fanfic. It will get extremely detailed.

I woke up the next day to Edward kissing the side of my neck repeatedly and holding me against him, trailing the back of his hand up and down my arm. I smirked and nestled into him, curving my body into his. "Hello."

"Mm..." he responded, still kissing my neck, and picking up my hand. I sid the back of my hand against the palm of his, searching for his fingers. Our fingers entwined and I brought our hands to my lips, kissing every inch of his and as his other hand ran slowly across my stomach.

"'Morning," he whispered, now railing his laps along my jawbone. "How'd you sleep?"

"Perfect," I breathed, "You're so amazing."

"You really wanna play this game?" he asked mischievously.

"Actually....yeah," I said, trying not to sound cocky, considering I knew what his response would be. "How'd I do?" I asked, bluntly, no longer afraid to act corrupted.

He shrugged, "That depends."

"On?" My heart stuttered. NOW I was scared.

"What your answer is to me."

"That's not fair; I asked first," I protested.

"That's not the question I was referring to," he told me, turning me to face him.

"Well, I asked mine first," I said, trailing my index finger down the bridge of his nose to his lips.

He kissed my fingers and then reached up and took my hand, holding it against his cheek as he spoke. "Well, that's fair. You are...so utterly perfect. So perfect, it hurts me."

I snorted.

"Why are you laughing? I'm serious. Last night was the best night of my life. And, I know it always will be. There are no words to describe you and how much I love you. No words do you justice."

"Don't judge me...a little prideful," I said. He smirked.

"You should be. You have the right to be 100 times more prideful than Rosalie is and then some. But you are the most humble person I know."

I chuckled and kissed him softly on the lips before saying, "Now, for you. Let's just say that...those were definitely not screams of pain." I chuckled at my newfound ability to be so blunt.

"Bella!" he reprimanded, but the appalled chuckle betrayed his feigned emotion. "I am utterly appalled at you! But, whle we're being so open about it, can I just be a little prideful myself; yes ma'am, you are welcome."

I laughed and said, "I'm proud of you. Finally able to be open, huh?"

"Um, excuse me?" he said, with a smile.

I rolled my eyes, "That's different. I couldn't help it that you couldn't read my mind, but you loved to torture me endlessly with your cryptic crap. Why couldn't you just say what you meant?"

"Misery loves company?" he shrugged. I shook my head.

"Then you wouldn't want me. I can never be miserable with you," I said.

"I sure hope not, because you seem to think it would be the worst thing in the world."

"What?!" How did he ever get that impression?

"You want me forever, but you won't say 'I do.'" Ugh! I groaned internally in disgust. "Edward," I whined, trying to turn my heada way, but he held it firmly in place so I had to look at him.

"Bella, you can't avoid the subject forever."

"Oh yes, I can. I'm gonna live forever."

"You want me to change you? I'll change my mind; keep pushin' it."

"Why do you hate me?" I cringed involuntarily. I hated talking about it.

"I don't hate you, I love you. I love you so much that ir hurts that you keep trying to avoid it. I mean, is there something fundamentally unmarriable about me?"

"No!" I said irritably. "I've already told you. It's not you at all, it's me. It's my issues. Please don't make them yours."

"They already are, Bella. They are inevitably mine because you are mine."

"Edward, please...don't do this."

"Don't what? Don't love you? Don't want you forever? I'm sorry; you know what; I didn't know I got a choice in that."

"No...that's not what I meant..." I immediately tried to amend the damage my words had done. "Edward, I know what this means to you, and I'm sorry that I can't be happier about it. I am thrilled beyond belief to spend forever with you. It's just the whole concept of marriage...scares me. It always has. And I'm sorry, but I can't help it. I WILL marry you. I will. You are the only man I would ever deem worthy of marrying. You are the only one I would consider doing this for. After everything you have done for me, everything you've become to me, how could I not?"

A smile twisted at the corners of his lips. "So, is that...yes? Is that a yes?"

"Yes." I said, trying to hide the regret in my voice. "yes, Edward Cullen, I will marry you."

He smiled and sat up, "Good. Then, I can give you...this." He reached over to my nightstand and grabbed something that I couldn't see. I propped myself up on my elbow and tried to look around him. "Edward, what are you doing?"

He turned back around and showed me the ring. I gasped slightly and he said, grabbing my left hand and sliding the ring onto my ring finger, "It was my mother's. And now it's yours, if you'll have it."

I tilted my hand so the sunlight would bounce off the diamonds, giving the diamonds the appearance of rainbow colors. As beautiful as it was, though, compared to Edward's hand, which was on mine, and sparkling as well, it was very...ugh. Edward's hand was the most beautiful thing to me in that moment as I looked down at it until I looked at his face. "Of course I'll have it," I said softly. "I'll have you."

He kissed me softly before saying, "Yay. And now, you need breakfast. Let's get dressed and then I can stay for a bit, but I'm going hunting with Emmett today."

I pouted and he chuckled, "I'll be back soon, promise. Superspeed, remember?"

I smiled and kissed him one more time, before we got up and got dressed, heading downstairs hand-in-hand to the kitchen.

Once we got there, I regretfully let go of his hand and opened the cupboard with the cereal. Once I fixed a bowl of cereal, I turneda round to see Edward sitting in the only chair, as he had broken the other one earlier.

"Damn," I said, with a slight smile, "It seems we are having a chair shortage."

He grimaced sheepishly. "Sorry. I'll replace it, I promise. Charlie will never know it was gone."

I shook my head, "Eh, who cares? I suppose I'll just have to sit in your lap..." He smiled his crooked smile and gestured to his lap with one hand.

I smiled and scurried over to him, anxious to be in his arms, unable to get enough of him. I sat sidways in his lap so my legs were on the other side of the chair.

He wrapped his arms slowly around my waist, hugging me tightly to him. He rested his forehead against the side of my head and kissed my temple.

I managed to eat three bites clumsily when he slid his hand into the back of my shirt and began tracing shapes on the skin of my back, while trailing his lips along my jawbone. I had the spoon raised for another bite, but froze, losing myself to his inescapable spell.

"I suddenly lost my appetite," I said, my voice cracking slightly.

He chuckled once seductively and swept everything off the counter with his forearm before lifting me by my waist and sitting me on the counter. I gripped his t-shirt roughly in my fist and pulled him in closer to kiss him.

Once his lips touched mine, it took all my strength to not do more than right now. I clenched my legs passionately around his waist and he leaned in even further to deepen the kiss.

My trembling hands raced down his chest ot his pants. I fumbled to unzip his pants and made to undo the button when Emmett's voice called cheerfully form the doorway, "Hell-ooo, all!"

Edward and I wrenched apart and he immediately zipped his pants back up and straightened out his shirt, "EMMETT!"

"I'm sorry, but I can't wait any longer, dude. Hi, Bella." He smiled at me in a teasing manner.

"Hi, Emmett..." I trailed off nervously.

"I'm starving, man, you comin' or not?"

Edward groaned, "Why are you such a pain in my ass?"

"Because that's my right and obligation as the oldest brother. It's true. It's an unwritten law."

Edward rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming, wait outside. Emmett!" he added forcefully, probably in response to some of Emmett's thoughts.

Emmett smiled smugly, raised his eyebrows, snorted, and walked out.

Edward shook his head, "If I come back alone, it's because I killed him. In which case, Rosalie would kill me, so if anything happens, know that I love you."

"Edward! That's not funny!"

"I'm kidding, Bella. I'll be back soon. Promise. Nothing can keep me away from you for too long, love."

I smiled half-heartedly, "Be careful."

"Always am." He assured me, "Love you." He kissed me and then caressed my face.

"I love you," I said forcing a smile.

He took off and I sighed. "Well, at least I have something to occupy my time." I looked on the floor and noticed the mess Edward and I had made. I cleaned it up--along with all the others--before going to take a shower.

I got dressed in a button-up shirt that Edward bought me and my favorite jeans. Having nothing else to do, I decided to scrub the house from top to bottom, and put my hair and put my hair in a bandana to keep it back.

I listened to my IPod as I worked, listening to all the songs Edward put on it for me, including Claire de Lune and my lullaby.

I literally scrubbed every nook and cranny and listened to my IPod on full blast to kill time.

Nearly four hours later, I finished and put all the cleansers away. Damn it. Edward still wasn't back yet. I supposed I could try to watch some TV for kicks, but I doubted it would do any good. Like I could really pay attention to TV right now.

I missed Edward so much and it had only been four hours since I saw him last. Oh, how I looked forward to being in his arms again!

I threw myself carelessly onto the couch and grabbed the remote control. I flipped through each channel, not really seeing or caring what was on it. I finally settled on a novella for background noise as I sighed impatiently. How long could it take?! Well, I had to do something; I couldn't just wallow in self-pity.

I leaned my head back and closed my eyes, and sighed contentedly, as I had flashbacks of last night with Edward:

Our bodies moved together with perfect, harmonious rhythm--our legs entwining with one another's, beneath the sheets, which were tangled, but wrapped around us nonetheless. My hands traced every contour of his back, every inch of his skin, memorizing the feel of his muscles flexing and contracting against them. I dragged my nails passionately down his back, and arched my back to be even closer to him. He caressed my parted lips with the bridge of his nose and I kissed it softly, before he trailed it to my cheek and caressed my chin and bottom lip with his thumb. "I love you," he whispered, breathlessly, transferring his lips to my neck and frenching it passionately, holding me even closer to him. My mouth involuntarily fell open and I sighed as moaned out of delight into my neck.

I snapped out of it, only to find he was still gone. I pouted and turned back to the TV to hear dramatic music playing over two people arguing in Spanish over a violin looking instrument.

I smirked, "So, I take it that he bought her the violin and she's really not happy about it."

The woman said something angrily in Spanish, so I mocked her: "'Steak or chicken? Decide!'"

The guy looked confused, so I said, deepening my voice, "'I'll have whatever Maria's having.'"

Then, the scene switched to two girls having a heated argument. One of the girls pulled the other girl's hair, jerking her head back.

"'If I pull her hair, her head will fall off.'" I said, now laughing at how ridiculous the whole thing was. How people found entertainment in the media department was beyond me.

She jerked the girl forward and I could see down her shirt. I froze. "Ooh, she should not be wearing that shirt." I turned my head momentarily, "Hello, knockers." I looked back, "I say push her down the stairs. Push her down the stairs. Push her down the stairs! Yay!"

She finally pushed her down the stairs and the girl's feet flipped over her head as she rolled down the stairs. I laughed hysterically at how stupid the whole thing was: "Ugh, drama. It's so annoying!"

I shut off the TV, unable to stand watching anymore, when there was a knock at the door. I jumped to my feet and ran to go get it. As I ripped the door open, I said, excitedly, "Edward, finally! You know, after what happened last night I don't think you need to knock anymore. I--Jake."

It wasn't Edward who stood on the other side, but Jacob. As quickly as my mood had perked up, I lost it all in that second, my heart sinking into the pit of my stomach. But, I put on my friendliest face and said, "Hey. What's up?"

He shrugged, "Sun's out; figured I wouldn't have to worry about the bloodsucker being here. Can I come in?" He tried to sound nonchalant, but even I could see the anger through his facade.

I nodded, "Of course." I stepped aside to let him through.

He pushed past me through the door into the living room. I shut the door, appalled by his hostility and followed him hesitantly. I guess I had this coming; I should've known. Oh, well...time to face my demons...I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
