I ran out of the classroom before the bell had finished ringing. Oh, no. I thought, not him. My friends Danica, Susannah and Vivian were waiting out side the door ready to go to lunch. Vivian was looking at herself in her hand held mirror while Danica talked to Suze.
“Hey guys” I said still walking away from the classroom, not wanting Edward or any of the others to catch me. The three of them followed close behind with confused looks.
“What’s wrong? Bells?” Danica asked concerned. I glanced behind me seeing that the Cullens were now exiting class, I walked faster.
“Um…nothing” I said rounding the corner. Vivian was the only one able to really keep up with me, in fact she was going faster then I was. Her being a werewolf came in handy at times. As for me I was just waiting for something to trip over.
“Well, then why are you walking so fast?” Suze asked curious. “You can’t be that willing to eat the cafeteria food.” A smile crept on my face. Suze was good at that, making me laugh.
“No time to explain” I said nearing the cafeteria door. Vivian reached out and pulled me back stopping me completely.
“No” she said with a stern look “You will explain now.” She grabbed the hem of my shirt and dragged me to the girl’s bathroom. Danica and Suze followed suite.
“Alright” Suze commanded “Talk.” I stared at them trying to keep my face blank.
“What’s up with you?” Danica asked.
“Nothing” I insisted. They all crossed their arms as if on cue. I gulped. “Seriously guys nothings wrong.” They glanced at each other and shook their heads.
“Something is wrong” Vivian stated.
“And you had better tell us” Danica continued.
“Or you will regret it” Suze finished. They all smiled angelically at me. I sighed, my shoulders sagging.
“Alright” I said surrendering “Alright, I have something to tell you guys.”
I watched as Bella bounded from the room. That stung, she didn’t want to see me. Why should she you left her. I looked to Jasper he shrugged and glanced over at Alice. Alice was still starring at the door stunned. I could tell that she had been hurt by how Bella had left, too.
We headed out the classroom not before catching a glimpse of Bella’s skirt as she turned a corner. I sighed, and followed Alice and Jasper to the cafeteria.
The room was filled with people, well creatures. There was a table full of werewolves across the way, but they smelled different then the ones that I was used to. I could see a pair of witches by the counter; they were starring at me lustful. I looked away not interested.
We found a table by the window-Alice picked it out- it was sunny outside but since we were allowed to show ourselves to everyone, we sat there. Our bodies glowing with small crystal lights. We were engaged in a conversation as to what Mr. Glass had been talking about earlier, when her scent hit me.
Bella was standing at the doorway to the café, along with three other girls. They all walked over to a table that was filled with mixed creatures. They were all greeted with huge smiles, as if they were some sort of leaders of the entire thing.
Alice and jasper had finished talking and were now following my gaze.
“This is unbelievable” Alice whispered. She stood and before Jasper and I could stop her she was heading over to the table. She was gaining looks from the entire room, as if she were crazy or something. Whoa they MUST be popular.
Alice made her way over to us with determination written on her face. Vivian leaned into my ear and whispered:
“Is that her?” I nodded. Alice smiled at us showing off her amazing teeth. Rafe and reed raised their brows. I shook my head knowing exactly what they were thinking.
“Hey” Alice greeted looking around the table, then her eyes landing on me. “How are you Bella?” she asked. I could feel the eyes of everyone in the room boring into us, I swallowed.
“Good” I replied. Suze elbowed me from next to Jesse-her boyfriend/slash ex-ghost/mediator. I through her a glare she just smiled up at Alice.
“Why don’t you join us?” She asked. I stared at her perplexed. Alice looked to me for confirm. I looked around the table at the hopeful eyes and Rafe mouthing, Please. Sighing I nodded.
