Several hours later, she woke up--for real--and I watched for her eyes to meet mine before making any assumptions.
"Hi." she said, before stretching and rolling over, arching her back as she did so.
"Are you really awake this time?"
The words were out of my mouth before I could stop myself. Ah, damn it. I really should keep this to myself, but I couldn't help it. I was dying to see her reaction. I loved to make her blush--it was so cute.
She furrowed her eyebrows, confused, "Yes...why?"
Eh, well, damage was already done, too late. Might as well enjoy this. Still, I should give her fair warning.
I shook my head, "You don't wanna know."
"Tell me," she insisted, "What happened; what did I say?"
Well, if she insisted, I wasn't going to deprive her of the information.
I snorted and said, "It's not what you said...per se...more like what you did."
She groaned, "What did I do?"
"First, tell me something...did you...were you having a sex dream about me?"
"What?!" She asked, frantically, sounding somewhat mortified. Hah! Drop the act; as if she had an excuse to act "innocent" anymore. Those days were over.
"NO! I didn't have a--" She hesitated and horrified comprehension filled her eyes; it was amusing to watch. She gasped and blushed, fiercely, "Oh, God," she mumbled, burying her face into the pillow. "Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"
She slammed her head repeatedly against the pillow.
"Bella!" I restrained her so she couldn't do it again. As if she didn't get hurt enough without intentional help...she was quite strange at times. There were some things about her that I would never understand.
"Honey, it's okay. It is. I'm not mad." I assured her, assuming that was her biggest concern. "Believe me, I am most definitely not mad." I said, hoping my suggestive tone would help her feel better.
"What are you talking about?! OW!" She made to lift her head, but wound up smacking it against the headboard before I could stop her.
"Damn it, Bella!" I sighed. When would she learn to show more caution? Especially now that she was recovering from severe injuries as it was.
I began examining her head, "Here; let me check the stitches."
"Stitches?!" She asked, trying to raise her head.
I pushed it back down, agitated with her. As endearing and amusing as her clumsiness was from time to time, her damn timing was exactly what was so impeccable...and she always seemed to be even worse after serious injuries.
"Why do I have stitches?"
"From Jacob!" I said, bitterly, clenching my teeth. I forced myself not to think about the dog and what he did to Bella or else my anger would most likely drive me to hurt Bella even more by accident.
"Bella, would you be quiet for a moment, please?" I asked, irritably, "I'm not as skilled at this as Carlisle is; I have to concentrate."
She immediately shut up and let me work.
I moved her hair back and checked the stitches, testing them in every way I knew to make sure they wouldn't break.
I tugged on the knot, causing her to cringe and gasp. It felt a little loose so I slowly untied the knot and tenderly tightened the two pieces, ensuring they would not come undone, causing her to cringe again.
I tied them together and then sat back, struggling not to get mad again.
"You'll be fine. Stitches didn't break. Bella, you have got to be more careful. You can't afford anymore injuries right now."
I couldn't help but be slightly angry with her right now. If she wasn't so damn careless all the time, half the injuries inflicted upon her might actually be avoided.
"Sorry," she whispered, sounding so apologetic that I immediately felt guilty...like it was my fault.
I sighed and pulled her into my arms, kissing her softly, before tucking her head beneath my chin and merely holding her.
"It's not your fault. You don't do it on purpose." I kissed her head before resting my cheek against it.
"So...what did I do?" She asked, after awhile.
Oh...my...God, did she really want to get into this right now?
She didn't notice, but she had stiffened in my arms as she said that, obviously anticipating me to get angry with her again.
Aw, now I had to answer her. It was only fair.
I couldn't help but smile as I answered her, "Not much...you...started having sex with me, and at first, I thought you had just woken up. It started leading to more than just kissing almost immediately, but you kept collapsing against me and freezing in the middle of kisses and stuff. I finally figured out you were still asleep and I laughed so hard, I'm surprised you didn't wake up from it."
"Gee, thanks for that." She said, sarcastically, struggling not to show her embarrassment.
I chuckled once and kissed her temple softly. "Mm...sorry. Can't help it. You're just so cute."
She smiled, "Oh, yeah?"
"Oh, yeah." I said, eager to make her see it.
She laughed and hid her face in my chest, inhaling my scent, and sighed, "Ugh, I need to take a shower. I don't want to get up."
"Well, if it helps, everyone's out hunting--even Emmett went again. We have some clothes here for you. I could give you some assistance, if needs be." I said, releasing her slightly.
I felt a little ashamed...this would be the fourth time we have had sex in two days. What was I doing to her?
"In that case, I could do a bath. Do we have time?" Shame's all gone.
"All the time in the world, love." I murmured, against her neck, kissing it. "All...the time...in the world." I inhaled her scent deeply, revelling in my ability to do so without any problems, and brought my lips to hers, kissing her softly.
She pulled away, biting her bottom lip slightly, looking painfully seductive, without even meaning to--God, I wanted her so bad right now--and ran her hand down my chest, resting it in between my pecs, tracing circles in it with her fingertips.
God, she was killing me..she was so irresistible; it should be a sin to be so incredible.
I looked down and raised my eyebrows.
She smirked and leaned in to kiss my neck, only making it worse--or better depending on how I looked at it--and said, "I approve," with a chuckle.
Oh, God, did I approve too! I could give her something to approve of. I shifted so that we could get up, and helped her up.
She finally noticed that we were both naked and said, sheepishly, "Uh-oh. Did I do this?"
Half-and-half. "Nah," I shook my head, deciding to tell her only about my fault in it.
"I just didn't have the heart to redress you..." She did undress me completely in her sleep, but I kept that little bit of information to myself. It could a remedy to help me out when I was feeling blue. "...but, no one saw you." I assured her, not wanting her to think I was a horrible person--even though, I was--"I made sure of that."
She rolled her eyes, "You are such a guy!"
Whoa, whoa--she undresses me in her sleep and I'm the culprit. That--I did not approve of.
Nonetheless, I played it cool: "Told you," I said, with a chuckle.
No longer able to concentrate--considering she was naked in my arms--I picked her up and ran us to the bathroom, eager to be with her already--my body aching desperately to be with hers-- causing her to shriek in delight.
