Bella kept on looking out the window excitedly when ever we passed a sign. Personally, it was hilarious. But after a few times of doing that, I was getting tired of it. I rolled my eyes at her playfully.
“You’re acting like a little kid,” I said teasingly. She snorted and then went crazy when she saw a sign that said Chicago 25 miles.

“Oh my God, we’re almost there!” she yelled. She started to play with her seatbelt quiet annoyingly. I pressed on the gas pedal harder. I couldn’t stand this for so much longer. We got to Chicago quickly due to my suburb driving. Bella, of course, almost jumped out of the car as soon as we reached the city. But thankfully, I was there to stop her from jumping out in front of a car.

“Calm down, Bella!” I said. “You don’t even know what you are looking for yet!”

“Well, what am I looking for?” Bella asked impatiently.

“You’ll find out later!” I said simply. I didn’t even know yet.

“I don’t want to find out later! I want to find out now!” she wailed. Give me a break kid!

“Well, I can’t tell you!” I yelled frustrated.

“Why not?” Oh my goodness!

“Because I don’t know what we are looking for yet!”

“WHAT?!” she yelled at me. “You told me to travel half way across the country for no reason?” Did you think I know everything?

“There is a reason! I’m just not sure why yet! I’m going to get my instructions soon!” I said.

“When are you going to get them?” she asked a little more calm. Then my cell phone rang. Bella looked very surprised when I answered it.

“Hello, Beck. It’s the head angel. You need to go to he vampire’s human house.” “Yah.”

“She has to find the journal.”

“She has to find it herself.”

“She has to do it? I can’t help her?”

“She’s just finding a stupid journal, Beck. You don’t have to help her with everything.” …….

“Oh,” I said a little angry.

“You have to faze her out slowly.” I KNOW!

“Bye, Beck.”

“Bye.” I. Hate. Her. Like-. “I just got my instructions!” I said happily before I got really angry.

“Heaven uses a cell phone to talk to you?” What else would they use?

“Yes, what else would they use?”

“I don’t know…magic? Trances?” We’re not witches!

“No! It’s a lot more convenient this way!” Obviously.

“Whatever,” she mumbled. “What do we have to do?”

“Not ‘we’, ‘you’,” I said. Just like the awesome Head Angel said. How I love her! Please not my sarcastic tone.

“Fine then. What do I have to do?” Nice try.

“I can’t tell you.”

“What? Why? How can I figure it out by myself?” You obviously can if that idiot up in Heaven thinks you can.

“You’ll just know when the time comes,” I said. “But I’m going to make sure that you make the right decision.” I said quickly. I hope the Head Angel heard that.

“I’m confused…”

“Why?” I asked.

“Why is heaven helping me? I am in love with a vampire after all,” she asked.

“Vampires are people, too. They are just a different species,” I said. Why else would they be alive?

“So they can go to Heaven and Hell, too?” she asked incredulous. She started to sob. Get a grip girl!

“Of course they can.” I stomped on my breaks before I could continue. Jonathan that bastard!

“Jonathan!” I yelled angrily. I pulled into an abandoned ally. Jonathan appeared beside us. “What do you want?” I yelled. “Don’t you realize that humans are here?” How stupid was he?

“Of course I know, I’m not stupid. And isn’t it obvious why I’m here?” he said looking at Bella. Don’t. You. Dare.

“You’re not going to kill Bella!” I yelled.

“You’re right, he isn’t.” We all turned our head to see who talked. Another demon walked forward. Now that’s no fair! Bella grabbed onto my arm in terror. “I’m going to kill Bella,” he said narrowing his eyes.

“Not the new guy!” Jonathan wailed.

“New guy?” I asked confused.

“That’s right, I’m a demon now. And I’m here to get my revenge on Bella!” the new demon yelled out loud.

“With the help from his mate!” Wow. They liked to state the obvious. A red haired vampire stepped into view. To my humor Jonathan looked very annoyed

“I can do it myself!” Jonathan yelled. Jonathan was jealous that someone else wanted to kill Bella, too! Ha ha! But then that new Demon guy lunged at the car.

He was slow for a demon so I opened the door and pushed Bella out. While she fell to the ground, I landed a punch right into the new demon’s nose. The red haired vampire joined the fight. I was too busy fighting to see Jonathan walk towards Bella.

“It’s really not fair to do this, but I’m tired of playing games with Beck,” I heard him say. Before I could think, I sent a huge fire ball into Jonathan’s back before he could hurt her. I ran over to Bella who was on the ground.

“Are you all right, Bella?” I asked worriedly. She nodded. “Good.” I said. But then the demons and the vampire walked forward.

“Just give it up, Beck,” Jonathan said.

“Give the girl to me!” the new weird demon said.

“This is my job! I’m assigned to Beck, not you!” Jonathan yelled. He was starting to walk towards James. “I know that Bella got you killed and all, but I was killed once, too! And I didn’t go seeking for revenge!” he screamed. Way to make things dramatic Jonathan.

“Where you killed once, too, Beck?” she asked me quietly. I nodded. It wasn’t subject that I really wanted to talk about. The new guy lunged at Jonathan and the red haired vampire cheered from the sidelines instead of helping. So I took my chance.

“Let’s go!” I whispered. I grabbed her hand and we ran over to the car. We got in and I drove off as fast as possible.

“How does a person become and angel or demon?” she asked me nervously.

“Well, when someone is killed, they either go to Heaven or Hell. But when they go there, the really bad or good souls are turned into demons are guardian angels.”

“Oh…how did you die?” It’s none of your business!

“I drowned.”

“Oh. How did Jonathan die?” I’m not an expert on him!

“I think a gunshot wound. I think he was in the army.”

“But aren’t people in the army good?” she asked confused.

“I’m not an expert on Jonathan’s life you know!” I said angrily. I didn’t even know how I knew even that much about him!
“Okay! Sorry,” she muttered. I looked down ashamed.

“No, I’m sorry.” I said. We pulled around the corner and we reached the house. “We’re here!” I said excitedly. Bella looked out of the car window and shock was written across her face. Then pain replaced it.
