“Bella!” A beautiful voice called. I saw Bella run up to a tiny, golden eyed vampire and hugged her tightly.

“Alice! Alice you’re here!” she cried. So she must be the sister of the vampire who left Bella. I saw Bella blink a few times to see if she was dreaming or not. Why would she think doing that would help you tell? Oh well, I’m not human how should I know? Alice rolled her eyes at Bella.

“I’m here Bella, and I should never of left,” she said trying to calm Bella down. Bella cried into her shoulder until Alice remembered the situation. Alice tensed up and looked from demon to demon. “Bella, get behind me,” she muttered. Bella moved over next to Alice. I then remembered that I was Bella’s guardian angel and ran next to Alice. I saw Jonathan, James and Victoria exchange glances worriedly. The demons disappeared and Victoria ran away into the sunset. I chuckled quietly. Cowards. As soon as the numbers were evened out they split. But it’s what to be expected. Alice and I relaxed a little after they were gone. But we both stayed on edge.

“Alice, how did you know where to find me?” Bella asked confused. I saw her brow wrinkle as she looked up at Alice.

“Bella, you seem to have forgotten my power,” Alice said humorously. Bella opened her mouth and formed an ‘O’ in understanding. She looked a little frustrated with herself. “You have some explaining to do, Bella,” Alice said more seriously. She eyed me curiously. Well who wouldn’t be confused when a girl dressed in all white shoots fire balls out of her hand?

“Oh yes! Alice this Beck my…guardian angel,” she said timidly. I laughed inwardly. This was always the awkward part of the job. But Alice surprised me by taking it very lightly.

“Hi, I’m Alice,” Alice said reaching her arm out to me.

“I’m Beck,” I responded taking her hand and shaking it. We all stood there for a few minutes, contemplating what to do next. “Well, we need a new plan now. Since Alice showed up, all you have to do now is find out where Edward is,” I said cheerfully since the mission just became a whole lot easier. Alice acquired a far away look in her eyes. It took her a few moments to wake up.

“Wow…that was…interesting…” Alice said looking at me oddly. I was terribly confused.

“What?” I asked.

“Oh, it’s…nothing,” Alice said, snickering a little at the end. What was so funny? If it concerned me I had a right to know!

“Really, what?” I asked laughing a little trying to look like a good sport.

“You’ll find out, pretty soon,” Alice said. She chuckled a few more times then looked over to Bella. “I think I may know where Edward is, Bella.” Hey! What about the vision?

“Really? Where?” she asked eagerly. She then preceded to jump on Alice up and down begging her to tell her.

“Calm down, Bella! I’m not even sure if he’s there or not!”

“Where?!” she yelled again.

“He may be in Denali…”

“Then let’s go!” she screamed.

“Hold on!” Alice yelled at Bella. “Let me make a call first!” Alice took out her cell phone and dialed. I heard it ring a few times before it was answered. “Hello?….Yah it’s me….no everything’s fine….is Edward still there?….then where is he?…..what? Why?……okay…..bye.” Alice hung up the phone and sighed as she put in away.

“So…..?” Bella asked very impatiently.

“He’s not there anymore,” Alice said regretfully. After seeing Bella’s expression she quickly added, “but he may be in Montana.”

“He’s probably tracking Victoria,” Alice said, chuckling to herself. “He’s not doing a very good job is he?”

“Montana? Let’s go!” Bella yelled out. Alice rolled her eyes at Bella playfully.

“Can’t you wait for a few minutes? He’s not there yet! We have a day at least,” Alice stated.

“We can’t stay here,” I said so they wouldn‘t forget entirely that I was there. “The demons will come back later, that’s for certain. We have to move.”

“Yes…” Alice said thoughtfully.

“Do you think we should go to Montana?” I asked.

“Maybe, but maybe I should call him first. He would want to know that Bella is in so much danger,” she responded.

“I guess so…” We talked on like that for a few more minutes before Bella’s stomach grumbled.

“But first, food for the human,” Alice said. We led Bella to a dinner a block away. Once we were inside, Alice started to ask me questions.

“Can demons die?” Alice asked.

“Well, no. But if they do a very bad job then they can be fired. They just go back to being regular dead people.”

“Oh…So…how long have you known Jonathan?” Alice asked interested. I was confused to why exactly she was asking, but I answered anyway.

“A very, very long time,” I said rolling my eyes. “Every time I get assigned to someone, he’s always there. I think he takes his job too seriously.” And he did.

“Why are Heaven and Hell fighting?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Wasn’t it?

“No.” Well, it was to me.

“It’s like werewolves and vampires. They hate ach other, but they don’t know why.”

“Oh. Can’t there be peace?”

“Probably.” But there won’t be anytime soon.

“Hello, can I help you?” a friendly voice called. The waitress was standing at the table waiting for our order.

“Uh…” Bella skimmed through the menu, obviously forgetting to before. “I’ll have the…spaghetti,” she said picking something randomly.

“Okay, Hun.” She looked at Alice and I but we refused food. As soon as she was gone, we picked up on our conversation.

“When do you think the demons will attack again?”

“I’m not sure. But it will probably be soon. They’re probably seeing their window of opportunity closing,” I said calculatingly. I personally had no idea when they would attack again. They were always so random.

“Hmmm….” Alice said, closing her eyes. She suddenly opened them. “We have to go.”

“Why?” Bella asked confused. She looked around the restaurant seeing if her food was coming.

“They’re going to attack. Soon. They even poisoned your food,” Alice said disgusted. That’s a first for Jonathan. He never poisoned anyone before. It must have been that new demon. “Come on.” We ran out of the restaurant and down the side walk.

“Where are we going?” Bella asked. Alice and I looked at each other waiting for the other to respond.

“The airport,” Alice finally said. We rounded the corner and Alice stopped suddenly. “We need a car,” she stated. She ran around the corner and in a few minutes she was driving back with a Ford. “Come on!” she yelled at us. We got in the car and before Bella could buckle up, Alice took off. We got to the highway in seconds. But there was a black car behind us the entire way. Alice drove faster, somehow navigating between the cars. I had to hand it Alice, she had some pretty good reflexes.

Due to Alice’s reckless driving, we were at the air port in seconds. We got out as quickly as we could and ran inside the airport. Alice bought tickets to Montana and the attendant looked at us funny when we didn’t have any luggage. We didn’t see Jonathan or James anywhere around, but we didn’t let their guards down.

It took a few minutes for the plane to come in, and we hurried on as soon as possible. Bella fumbled with her seatbelt many, many times so Alice had to help her with it. The plane took off and Bella fidgeted endlessly. When Alice was sure Bella wasn’t listening, she started to tell me her vision of earlier that day.
