I walked in the front door, slamming the door behind me with unnecessary force. The thoughts coming off my siblings wasn’t pleasant, and were making me very upset. They were always talking about how I needed someone in my life to make me happy, and when I go find the girl that does they get all mad! I know it’s dangerous to date a human, but Isabella Swan was addictive, like a drug.

"What the hell are you doing?! Putting us all in danger! Who are you to decide something like this?! We’ve been here for a very long time and I’m not ready to leave!" Rosalie shouted in her mind, appearing at the top of the staircase, glaring down at me.

"Give it a rest, Rosalie." I sighed, throwing my car keys into the drawer in the living room. "I don’t want to hear it."

"You need to hear it!" She shouted, appearing beside me, standing at the same height as me, looking me in the eye. "You’re not going to ruin this for me, Edward. I like it here, as small as this town is, as crazy as the people are, I like it, we don’t get noticed. Now, you’re going around and practically telling the girl what we are! Have you lost your mind?"

"Rose, not now." I said, pushing past her.

Her screaming fit had gathered a crowd. The entire family was gathered in various places around the living room and staircase. Their thoughts came rushing at me, a mixture of disaproval, understanding, acceptance, undecided, and gloating. I frowned, looking at them each.

"Rosalie is right." Jasper stated simply. "It’s dangerous. Think of what would happen if they found out."

"They won’t find out!" I shouted, balling my hands into fist.

"Edward, I understand what you’re doing, but you need to be cautious. We’re all thinking about the good of the family here, and maybe this girl is what the family needs." Carlisle said, his soft fatherly voice taking over. "Alice told me what she saw."

"Alice can be wrong."

"Not about this." She said, flipping a little strand of black hair out of her face. "I’ve seen every way that it will work out. No getting away, Edward." She seemed happy about the way Bella’s future was looking. "It will happen, wether you like it or not."

"Rose and Jasper have a point, man. You need to be careful. I’m just saying!" Emmett put his hands up in the air. "I don’t think the girl is that bad, seems kind of funny, and clumsy."

Rosalie looked over at him, shooting daggers at him. The thoughts were rolling off her in waves, and through Jasper I had an understanding of the feelings she was having.

"Are you happy?" Esme spoke up.

I looked at her, the corners of my mouth lifting up. "Yes." She wouldn’t care what Bella looked like as long as I was happy, Bella could have three eyes for all Esme cared, she just wanted me happy. It would put her fears about me being too young away.

"Well, why you’re being happy, we’re going to be fearing for our lives! Would you die for this girl?! A stupid human?"

"Then you’re stupider than I thought!" She stormed out of the house, slamming the front door so hard that the glass in it shattered onto the floor.

"I don’t care what you do, just be careful about what you do. I trust you, Edward, I know you’ll do what’s right." Carlisle thought softly.

"I can’t wait to get my new sister!"

"Shut up, Alice!"
