THIS STORY IS COMPLETE!!!!!!! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO READ & REVIEWED!!!! HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ROUND 2!!!!*~Nymphadora_Cullen~*

In case anyone's wondering, in this story, Ana is 17, which means everything is happening now. Bella's been a vampire for two years, and Nessie is, I guess, about the physical representation of a ten or twelve-year-old. Also, I'm planning to do a playlist for this fic. Check the chapter notes to see what music works for each chapter If anyone has any questions, please leave a review.

Chapter 14: Recovery

I rustled the sheets as I twitched in the bed. The dream had been so real; the cloaked monsters with their polite, frivolous ways that only hid the true terror beneath them like a mask.

They had made it seem like they cared for me, that they wanted my welfare. But my family had refused. They could see behind the masks these creatures wore. But I hadn’t, until it had almost been too late.

There had been screaming, sobbing, blood….

Then there had been the pain….

I sat up, shaking, and felt my right shoulder. It felt odd, like there was a cloth there. I pulled my shirt collar to the side, exposing a bandage on my right shoulder. My entire left arm was encased in a cast, complete with a sling.

“Ana, you’re awake!” I looked up to see Seth standing in the door, his eyes sparkling. He walked up to me, and sat next to me on the bed, softly placing his warm hands on my arms.

“I know it’s stupid to ask,” he began, “but how are you?”

“I felt like crap until you came in,” I muttered. He chuckled.

I’m glad I made you feel better,” he whispered.

I blushed, and Seth’s fingers caressed my face.

“You’re so cute when you blush,” he murmured, his eyes twinkling merrily. His words, and the expression that followed, made me blush harder.

I lay back down, and he snuggled closer, laying his head on my shoulder, and curling some of my hair around his finger. I stared into his caramel colored eyes.

“I like how your heartbeat sounds,” He whispered, “It reminds me of your capacity to love me.”

I smiled at him. “I need to love you,” I whispered. “If I didn’t have you, I’d go crazy. And trust me, you don’t want to see that.”

Seth chuckled, but the smile seemed to fade. “I nearly went crazy myself,” he whispered, “Seeing you walk up to them, reaching your hand out. It felt wrong. And then, that Demetri bit you,” Seth’s voice broke, “And, hearing you scream,” he shuddered. “It took all my willpower to stay there with you, instead of chasing after them, taking over where Bella left off.”

“I wonder if Aro would’ve tasted like an onion,” I mused suddenly, and Seth snorted.

“I can imagine that,” he replied. “I doubt it, but I like the idea. So you figured it out?”

I nodded. “But at least we got the venom out,” I whispered, trying to change the subject.

Seth grinned. “You have Edward to thank for that. When Bella was still human, this other vampire attacked her, and Edward got the venom out of her system the same exact way. The only difference is that they were in a ballet studio in Phoenix.”

I smiled, and snuggled back into his body. “I’ll be sure to thank him.” I muttered. I knew Edward played piano, so I began to wonder as to who was his favorite composer. Was it Debussy, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart….

I felt my eyelids started to feel heavy, and I yawned, stretching my arms and legs before curling back up into my former position.

Seth sat up, pulling my blankets closer to me. “Carlisle said you’d feel tired when you first woke up.” He explained. “I’ll just stick around until you feel a bit better.”

I smiled at him, and I saw him smile, too as my eyes closed again.
