When Bella finally woke up, I bounced into Edward’s room. “Hey, Bella! How are you?”

“Good. But the real question is, how are you?” she replied.

“Putting on a brave face and love/hating my former husband.”

“I see. Did you at least talk to Jake?”

“Yes, we are now what you would call, ‘friends’.”

She smiled. “Good.” Then she leaned forward and hugged me.

“I love hugs,” I said.

“Me too,” said Bella.

“ME THREE! ME FOUR!” yelled Emmett and Jacob as they ran into the room and made the hug into a group hug.

“Emmett-can’t-breathe,” Bella’s line came into action. Everyone laughed and let go.

Edward walked in and singsonged, “Breakfast time for the human!”

Bella laughed with him, while Jacob, Emmett, and I sat there, confused. Edward and Bella laughed, while Emmett followed, yelling, “Bella, we are so having a racecar contest on the new Wii!”

“Whatever, Emmett,” Bella yelled back.

It was finally quiet.

“Alice, are you okay?” questioned Jake.

I sighed. “I guess. How is Angela doing?”

“Pretty good, she’s a strong girl. Hasn’t screamed once.”

“Really? I heard it was like, really painful!”

“You don’t know?”

“No, I don’t remember any of my human life, and because the transformation is part of that, I don’t remember it, either. Although when James came he said he’d hunted me and that I had a vampire friend who changed me- that’s all I know, basically.”

“I’m sorry. I would miss my human life. Especially the part with you in it.”

I smiled at him, then realized something. “Hey, didn’t you see me before the graduation party?”

“Yeah, and?”

“Well, isn’t imprinting supposed to happen the first time you see me after the transformation to a werewolf?”

“Yeah, it is. Weird.”

“Do you have any ideas why we’re different?”

“Well, I’d bet it was because I was so angry at your family that I didn’t notice.”

“Oh, hm. Odd.”

Edward and Bella walked in. “I have a different theory,” Edward said.

“And?”

“You were supposed to imprint on Angela. But because you saw Alice at the time when it would’ve happened, well, it seems you’ve imprinted on her.”

“Or maybe, you just never saw her. You were really busy concentrating on whether or not I was okay, that you only looked at me. But when you saw Alice yesterday, it was for the first time, well-ah!” Bella ended with a random exclamation.

“Well, I guess any of those is likely,” Jacob said.

Jasper walked in. I walked out, Jacob following. I knew avoiding him wouldn’t help, but I just couldn’t talk to el idioto. He just irked me. I bounced down the stairs and to the game closet, opening the door.

“Whoa.” said Jacob. “You guys have a lot of games.”

Yeah, we did- a walk-in closet full. “What would you like to play?”

“Um, how about Catch Phrase?”

“Okay, but we need more people,” I replied.

“BELLS! EDDY! WANNA PLAY CATCH PHRASE?” Jake yelled upstairs.

“SURE JAKE!” Bella yelled back.

Soon enough, they were downstairs. We sat down on some of the couches and I started the beeper.

“Uh! George Washington, Abe Lincoln…”

“President!”

I handed it off.

“Ring! Ring! Buzz! Buzz! Answer the blank!”

“Phone!”

Bella handed the thingy off to Jake.

He hit the button a little too hard and the thingy broke.

“Ja-cob!” Bella said. “You broke it!”

“Oh, don’t worry! We’ve got another,” I said.

Bella rolled her eyes and muttered, “Dang Cullens and their overspending- two Catch Phrase games…”

Edward laughed.

“What is the point of under your breath mutterings around you guys?!”

“I’ve no idea, love,” Edward said.

“You know what? Lunch time for the human! And human-werewolf hybrid, if he likes,” Bella said.

“Mmmm! Lunch sounds good!” Jacob replied.

They had lunch, and Edward took Bella home. Jacob left, because he said he had to update the pack. I sort of missed him, which seemed weird to me.

“I know how you feel,” said a voice that I’d come to hate behind me.

“Of course you do, you lying, horrid, evil IDIOT! I HATE YOU!” I screamed at him, and began to dry sob. I heard him leave, and just sat there on the stairs.
