Carlisle thought it over, and he decided that as long as I wasn't gone long, and I went in a wheelchair, I should be fine. So Edward got me some scrubs to put over my hospital gown and then put his own on. He had me wash my hands in the bathroom in my room, and we were off to the NICU.

I could hardly sit still in the elevator. Edward noticed.

"What's got you so excited?" he asked. Like he didn't know.

"I get to see my babies for the first time, duh!" I said like a five year old.

He chuckled. "You will love them, and they you. I'm just glad they get names today."

We made our way to the NICU where a young looking nurse waited by the door, smiling as we came into view. I immediately liked her because she didn't ogle over Edward like most women, and she just had an all around niceness about her look.

"Hello Edward, nice to see you again. And you must be Bella," she greeted me. "I'm Angela, it's nice to finally meet you. Edward talks to the twins about you all the time."

"Nice to meet you too," I told her shyly.

"Alright, enough small talk, are they awake?" Edward asked.

"They are. Go ahead," she said, opening the door for us. Edward wheeled me into the room and parked me in between two babies which I knew were ours because they looked just like Edward.

"Okay, you can visit them, touch them, whatever you want. I've got to go wash my hands quickly," he told me, kissing my forehead.

"Mmhmm," I said absentmindedly. I was engrossed in my baby boy. He chuckled and went off to wash his hands.

I stuck my hand in my son's incubator and stroked his tiny hand. "Hi, baby boy, it's mommy. You're so handsome, you look just like your daddy. I'm so glad I finally get to meet you, although I miss having you in my belly. I love you." He looked up at me with Edward's eyes and I fell in love all over again.

"What are you thinking about?" Edward whispered into my ear from behind me.

I turned to look at him. He was gazing at our son with loving eyes. "That I love you. A lot." He finally looked at me and smiled.

"I love you, too," he said before kissing me.

"And how's my little girl?" I turned and put my hand in to touch my daughter. She made a little sound that I though was a giggle. It was the sweetest thing. "Hi, baby, I love you too."

"She looks like you, doesn't she?" Edward mused.

"She does. But our son looks like you," I added.

We visited with our children for a little bit before Angela came over to us. "Are you ready to name them?" she asked us.

I looked at Edward. He nodded and I said, "Sure, I think we've got it."

"Okay, let me get the birth certificates and you can fill them out."

I filled out our daughter's first. It went like this:

Name of Baby: Lucia Renee Cullen

Sex: Female

Time of Day Born: 11: 35 P.M.

Month/Day/Year Born: June 20th, 2009

Town and State Born In: Forks, Washington

Weight at Birth: 3 lbs. 1 oz.

Length at Birth: 16 inches

Mother's Full Name: Isabella Marie Swan

Father's Full Name: Edward Anthony Cullen

And my son's went like this:

Name of Baby: Jack Anthony Cullen

Sex: Male

Time of Day Born: 11: 36 P.M.

Month/Day/Year Born: June 20th, 2009

Town and State Born In: Forks, Washington

Weight at Birth: 3 lbs. 0 oz.

Length at Birth: 16 inches

Mother's Full Name: Isabella Marie Swan

Father's Full Name: Edward Anthony Cullen

I handed them back to Angela. She smiled and walked away with them. I looked at Edward talking to little Jack and said, "You know what I just realized? They were born on your birthday."

He looked up, suprised. "Wow, I guess they were."

"And, that just reminded me that I have to make it up to you because we never did get to celebrate," I added.

"Bella," he said disapprovingly. "You gave me the best gift in the world. I don't need anything else."

"I'm still baking you a cake, and we can celebrate once the twins come home."

He sighed. "You're so stubborn. I think you have to go back to your room now, we can come back to visit later."

I pouted, but agreed, and said goodbye to my babies. "Bye, Lucy girl, I'll come back later. I love you, sweetie." I blew her a kiss and she smiled at me. It was amazing how she could recognize instantly that I was her mommy. "Bye, Jack, I love you too, buddy," I said, and blew him a kiss. Edward said his goodbyes to our babies and wheeled me out of the NICU. When we got back to my room, the whole family was waiting. Charlie, Esme, Carlisle (he must have had the day off), Alice, Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, and...Renee?

"Mom!" I squealed.

"Bella!" She came to hug me. "How are you?"

"I could be better," I said. "Where's Phil?" I asked while Edward helped me get back into bed.

"Back in Florida. He has games so he couldn't come, but he says congratulations," Renee explained.

"Tell him thank you."

"So let's get to the important stuff. What did you name them?" Alice asked. She was really excited apparently.

I smiled up at Edward for him to continue. "Jack Anthony Cullen and Lucia Renee Cullen," he grinned.

"Lucy and Jack, I like it," Alice smiled, satisfied.

I laughed. "I'm glad you approve."

Edward leaned down to whisper something in my ear. I nodded and Edward started. "Well, while you're all here, Bella and I have one more announcement."

I saw Alice zero in on my left hand. She squealed and ran over to hug me. "Bella! We're going to be sisters!"

I hugged her back. "You were my sister before, Ali," I said.

"Wait, you two are getting married?" Renee did not look pleased.

"Yes, we are, and I would appreciate it if you were happy for us instead of giving us a lecture," I told her sternly.

"And you knew about this?" she asked Charlie.

"Well, I knew Edward was going to ask, I didn't know when. He's a good kid, Renee, and he did ask me for her hand," Charlie answered.

Before Renee could respond, everybody congratulated us. I was grateful for that, because I didn't want to hear about how we were too young, too naive, ect.

Once the excitment died down, I looked at Carlisle and said, "When can I get out of here?"

5 days later

"Well, Bella, you look good, brain's looking healthy, I'd say you're ready to go home."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously."

"I love you Carlisle! This is the best news in awhile," I squealed.

"Glad I could help," he laughed. "You'll have to come once a week for a checkup, although I'm sure you'll be here every day to visit Jack and Lucy."

"If Edward has time seeing as I won't be able to drive," I sighed.

"Oh, we'll make time to come," Edward piped in. It brought tears to my eyes sometimes that he loved them so much. He couldn't get any better.

"I love you," I said, leaning up to kiss him briefly.

"I love you, too."

Edward and I went to say goodbye to Lucy and Jack while Carlisle got my release forms.

"Hey, Bella, you look a lot better," Angela greeted me. "Hi Edward," she added.

"I feel a lot better. I get to finally go home today," I told her.

"Good for you," she smiled.

Edward put me in between Jack and Lucy while he went to wash his hands.

"Hi, Lucy girl, how are you today?" She smiled up at me and I smiled back. "Mommy's got to go home today, but me and daddy will be back every day to see you. I love you pretty baby," I said, stroking her belly before turning to my son. "Hi, Jack, how are you? Boy, you look just like daddy, you're so handsome." And he flashed me the signature Edward crooked grin and my heart stopped. He was definately going to be a heartbreaker when he grew up. "I love you, buddy. Mommy's got to go now, but I'll be back soon," I told him, rubbing his hand before letting Edward say goodbye to our babies.

"Ready to go?" he asked once he was done.

"Yep, I'm ready to be home," I sighed. "I'm just going to miss them."

"Me too, but we'll come back every day, I promise."

We said goodbye to Angela and I was finally released from the hospital around 8:30 at night. I wouldn't be able to drive for at least three months, so Edward was going to be one busy guy these next few months. He had gotten permission from his professors to study from home. Being Edward and the son of the famous Dr. Cullen, this wasn't a big deal. He just explained his situation and that was that.

"We'll probably be bombarded with who knows what when we get home, are you okay with that?" Edward asked once he started down the road. I've noticed that he drives much slower than he used to, and his eyes are constantly on the road.

"I can visit for a few minutes, but I really want a shower before I go to bed and I'm exhausted already."

"You can do whatever you like, love."

We sat in silence the rest of the way home, holding hands. It was nice to finally be with him outside of that horrible hospital. I didn't like having my babies in the hospital, it didn't seem right. Of course they wouldn't feel at home. And they were all alone in a room with other babies and a nurse. They weren't even together, they were in seperate boxes all alone. The thought brought tears to my eyes. I sniffled and wiped my eyes, trying to hide the tears from Edward. I should have known it wouldn't work.

"Bella? Are you okay sweetheart?" he asked, glancing very briefly at me.

"I'm fine," I said, my voice cracking, giving me away.

I heard Edward sigh, and he let it drop until he pulled into the driveway. He shut the car off (Carlisle bought him a new Volvo because his old one was ruined, and Edward was too busy staying with me to buy it himself) and lifted me into his arms bridal style. He carried me straight to our bedroom, ignoring everybody there to greet us. He locked our door and set me down on the bed.

"What's wrong love?" he asked me, gathering me in his arms.

"I don't like them being all alone in that room. They're living in a box, Edward, all alone," I whispered. "And I can't take care of them. I feel so helpless for my own children." Tears were flowing freely now.

"Bella, I know it's hard, but they get to come home soon, and we can take care of them. They're in good hands at the hospital, they'll be fine," he comforted me. "Don't feel helpless, after all, you gave them life. Nothing will break that bond." Edward wiped my tears away and I finally settled down enough to shower and get ready for bed.

"Just know that I love you, Bella," Edward whispered into my ear as we laid in bed.

"I love you, too. Thank you for sticking with me through all of this," I whispered back, looking into his eyes.

"Anytime, love."

He hummed my lullaby, and before I drifted to sleep, I thought one thing: our family wouldn't be complete until I had my babies home with me.
