8. Stay

The second month went uneventfully, although I was growing. I had another doctor's appointment, I have to go once a month until I get near the end of my pregnancy.

I wonder when people at school were going to notice. Right now it was pretty easy to hide, but it wouldn't be like that for long.

When I was about ten weeks, Edward and I got a look at our little baby for the first time. I was speachless the whole time, looking between Edward and the screen that held the movement inside my tummy. Tears were shed, hands were held, and new beginnings started, all in one room within 15 minutes.

We were met by Alice once we reached the Cullen household. My appointment was after school and Alice somehow talked Charlie into letting me stay the weekend, saying that we needed to do some serious thinking, planning, and shopping about his soon-to-be grandchild. Charlie probably panicked at the word shopping and decided on a last-minute fishing trip with his friend Harry Clearwater.

"Isabella Cullen, get your butt in here right now!" Alice shouted as Edward was helping me out of his Volvo.

I froze as her words sunk in. "Did you just call me Bella Cullen?" I whispered.

Alice waved it off. "Oh Bella, what's the difference? You'll end up being one of us sooner or later."

"Alice!" Edward yelled.

"Well she will! You know she will," Alice defended herself. "She practically is one now," she mumbled as an afterthought.

"Of course I will, but who knows when?" I smiled brightly at Edward. He sighed.

"Bella, I'm not asking you to marry me while your pregnant. That seems so...wrong, to me. But I promise you, I will marry you some day," he smiled at me. I kissed him and we met Alice in the livingroom.

"So you better get some sleep tonight because we have a ton of shopping to do, and we have to get up real early, and-"

I cut her off. "Alice, I promised to go shopping with you, but I will spend time with Edward too," I ordered. She started to say something, but I beat her to it. "Alone."

She got aggrivated and stomped her foot. "Fine, but we are going shopping tomorrow. Just maybe not as early as I was originally planning..." She was making her way to the stairs, deep in thought. She sighed and said, "Now I have to go re-plan," and headed to her room.

"Now that we're alone..." Edward grinned against my neck, then kissed it. He scooped me up and carried me and my bag to the guest room. We laid down together on the bed and he started playing with my hair.

"Mmm, Edward, I don't want to go shopping," I murmered, my eyes half closed.

"I know love, but you did promise Alice..."

I groaned. "Thanks for sticking up for me."

He laughed. "Oh Bella, I'll come rescue you if it gets too bad."

We laid under the covers for awhile until I started getting tired. Edward noticed. "I'll leave you to get some sleep." He started to get up, but I grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him down again.

"No, stay," I mumbled, half asleep already.

"Okay. But get some sleep. You look tired," he said, wrapping his arms around me and tucking the covers in around us. "I love you, beautiful."

"I love you more," I said as he kissed my forehead and I fell into a deep, peaceful sleep, dreaming of my little baby and Edward.

"Bella, wake up," I heard an angelic voice whisper into my ear. I moaned and stretched, nearly missing his face with my arm. "Whoa, Bella!"

I opened my eyes and giggled at what I saw: Edward hanging over the edge of the bed, with my arm about two inches away from his face. "Sorry," I giggled again, and he smiled.

"Anything to hear you laugh."

"What time is it?" I asked him as he returned to his originial position.

"A little after 8. Are you hungry?" he asked me.

"Starving. I'm eating for two, you know," I stated.

"I'll order a pizza, you go into the family room and put in a movie."

I got up from the cozy bed, bringing the comforter with me to the family room that was downstairs in the basement. I picked out a movie and put it in. I was fast-forwarding through the previews as Edward came down with a bowl of popcorn and two cans of Dr. Pepper. I smiled, he knew me too well.

"A little appitizer before the pizza," he said, handing me the popcorn and sat down next to me on the loveseat. I covered him up with the blanket and he handed me a can of pop.

We cuddled and watched the movie. About 30 minutes into it, the doorbell rang and Edward got up to pay the pizza guy. He came back down with a large pizza: half sausage and mushroom, half supreme. I'm the sausage and mushroom, he's the supreme.

"I love you, Edward," I said as we dug into the pizza.

When it was gone, I snuggled into him and without finishing the movie, I fell asleep.

"Bella, I told you, it's over. I'm leaving you. I don't want you, or this baby that you think is mine. Goodbye, Bella."

I woke up gasping for air, this being the fifth time I've had this nightmare. Seeing as Edward was in my room also every night and has witnessed me waking up like this, I told him the nightmare. And every time I had it, he would kiss me and assure me that would never happen and that he loves me.

Tears streaming down my face, I stumbled down the hall and into Edward's room.

"Bella?" he mumbled, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. He saw the tears and immediately got up to take my in his arms. "Oh Bella, you know it's not true. I love you both so much, I could never leave you," he murmured, kissing my forehead.

"I know! But it won't go away!" I sobbed.

"Come on, you can sleep with me. I'll keep the nightmares away," he promised, leading me to his bed.

"Belllllaaa!!!" an all too chipper voice sounded through Edward's room at a time that I was sure was way too early for a Saturday.

"Alice go away," I groaned, snuggling closer to Edward, who was stirring also.

"Bella, you promised to go shopping with me today!" Alice whined.

"Listen, I don't know what time it is, but I know that's it's way too early to even think about getting up," I told her.

She quickly turned deathly. "Fine Bella, if that's the way you want to be, then I guess I'll just have to tell Charlie and Carlisle and Esme that you two slept in the same bed last night, and I happen to know you do this nearly every night."

Edward shot out of bed like a rocket and said, "Okay, okay, Bella, get up, you're going shopping!"

Alice covered her eyes. "Ew, Edward, put some clothes on!"

He was wearing just a pair of boxers. Damn he looked great.

"Then leave, Bella will be ready in 15 minutes. Go pick out her clothes or something while she showers," he ordered her. She cheered up at the thought of picking out my clothes and left the room. I glared at Edward as he turned around to face me.

"Edward Anthony Cullen, you are going to owe me BIG TIME," I growled.

"Bella, honey," he started, trying to calm me.

"Edward! It is 5 o'clock in the morning, ON A SATURDAY!! Do you realize that maybe your sister might just need help. She has a problem, she's a shopaholic! AND SHE'S PULLING ME INTO THIS DEATH TRAP WITH HER!!" I yelled at him. I was breathing heavily as he made his way over to me.

"Bella, you need to calm down. And I promise to make it up to you," he grinned, leaning down to kiss me.

Of course I melted right there. "Not fair," I pouted.

He just laughed and helped me out of bed. "Go get ready, I promise it won't be as bad as you think."

I was walking toward the bathroom when he suddenly stopped me. He knelt down in front of me and lifted my shirt just above my baby bump. As soon as he saw it, he grinned from ear to ear, looked up at me, and said in a voice that sounded like a little boy at Christmas, "That's my baby in there."

I've never seen him so happy, it made me want to cry. I helped him up and said, "It's our baby in there." I kissed him and went to get ready for the pure torture ahead of me.
