"Come on Bella, you need new clothes! You're getting fat!" Alice complained as I took my sweet time getting out of the car and into the mall doors.

"That's it Alice, call me fat one more time and I will never go shopping with you again!" I warned.

"Sorry Bella but you need maternity clothes!" she whined.

"Alice," I said as I finally joined her. "I will not die if I don't have maternity clothes right this instant."

"But Bella!" she whined some more.

"Alice!"

"Sorry, Bella," she pouted. "I'm just excited, that's all!"

I sighed. "I know Alice, I'm excited for this baby too, but let's not go overboard please."

She linked arms with me and together we walked to our first store, Motherhood Maternity. It was a fairly small store, which I greatly appreciated. But knowing Alice, she would easily fill at least three bags.

"Ooh, this is cute. Ooh and this." Alice went around picking up nearly every other shirt. I sighed loudly, knowing this was going to be a long day.

She heard me. "Hey, be thankful you don't have to try on these clothes, you won't know if they fit until you get fa...I mean, until your precious baby starts to grow," she smiled sheepishly.

"Yeah nice save Alice."

She was finally satisfied an hour and a half later, we walked out of the store with only two big bags full of clothes.

Next store, Prada.

Now, I don't know if you know this, but Alice, yeah, big Prada freak. She could spend hours in there. Me, not so much.

"Alice, seeing as this store has nothing to do with my fat stomach or my baby, I'm going to go to The Children's Place to look at the baby clothes, okay?"

She just knodded and I left. Edward and I decided to keep the sex of the baby a secret, but I figured with the Cullens' endless supply of money, I could afford to buy some clothes for either gender, but I would buy mostly gender-neutral things.

I loved seeing the little clothes and the tiny socks. Every day, I get more and more excited for my little baby to come. I decided to call Edward and see what he thought about me buying clothes so soon.

The phone rang twice before he picked up. "Bella?"

"Hi honey, I just wanted to ask you a question."

"Go ahead," he mumbled. I must have woken him up. Too bad, I'm shopping with Alice at five o'clock in the morning. Karma's a bitch.

"So I'm in a baby clothing store, and I'm finding all of these cute little clothes and I was just wondering, how do you feel about me buying some clothes right now?"

"Bella, we don't even know the gender yet, and we won't until you give birth," he reminded me.

"I know, but I can buy yellows and pinks, you know, gender-neutral things. And we can also return the wrong color clothes when the baby's born."

"Sure, sweetheart. If it makes you happy." I could almost hear him smiling through the phone. "Now I'm going to go back to sleep, call if you need anything else. I love you."

"Love you, too. Goodnight," I told him, then hung up the phone.

I grinned to myself and gladly started picking out all sorts of clothes for my little miracle.

Two hours later, Alice met me in The Children's Place as I was checking out. She had three bags in her tiny hands and was grinning.

"What?" I asked.

"Oh nothing, I just bought you a new purse and wallet! It's nice and big so that you don't have to carry around an ugly diaper bag around."

I did hate shopping, but I loved how Alice cared about me and thought of me in times like these. "Thanks Alice, I really appreciate it. Besides," I grinned, "I want to be one of those cool moms." She grinned back at me and we moved on to the next store.

Next stop, Macy's. It was a win-win situation; Alice got to shop for my clothes while I got to shop for the baby.

I really don't know how Alice does it, but she managed to buy four bags full of maternity clothes for me. I honestly don't know where I'm going to keep all of these clothes. I only bought two bags worth of baby items, but I was still proud. I was making progress.

We decided that we could no longer hold any more, so we made a quick trip to the car before round two. On the way to our fourth store, we passed Kay Jewelers and I stopped there.

"Bella?" Alice called to me.

I made my way to the engagment rings and just stared. I felt Alice next to me, and I know she was gazing at them too.

"Alice?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you ever think Jasper will ask you to marry him?" I asked her quietly.

"I think I was meant to be a Hale," she smiled. "And I'm pretty sure Edward will ask you too...some day."

"Me too. I can feel it," I told her as I put my hand on my stomach. Alice caught me daydreaming and smiled.

"You really want this?"

"More than ever," I whispered. "I love your brother, Alice."

"I know you do. Now come on, let's go get you a pretzel!" she said, grabbing my hand.

As we ate our pretzels with cheese, I looked at her and sighed. "Alice, I miss Edward. Can we go home?"

"As much as I love shopping, I miss Jasper. Looking at those rings made me want to run home to him. There's one more place I want to stop, then I say we head home."

Must I say, I have never been happier to look at jewelry.

We finished our pretzels and Alice led me to a manicure/pedicure shop and I looked at her, confused.

"You need something special done, Bella. You deserve it."

So we spent the next hour getting our nails done and just talking about the future. We discussed the baby, marriages, and college choices and what we wanted to do with our lifes. It was nice to have some girl time.

"Edward, I'm home!" I called as Alice and I carried a couple of bags into the Cullen house. It was exactly 1:02 P.M. and I was ready to be home. Well, the Cullen house, same thing.

"Bella!" he grinned, gathering me in his arms. "I missed you."

"I missed you, too," I told him, and kissed him. "And there's about ten more bags out there in the car," I hinted.

"Ten more?! How many bags do you have?" he asked, eyes bugging out of his head.

"Only fourteen. Alice did quite well I would say," I smiled.

"I'm assuming you had fun?"

"Actually, I did. And I can't wait to show you what I got for the baby!" I said happily.

He laughed and took my hand as we gathered the rest of the bags. Alice was too busy with Jasper to help, but I didn't mind.

"Oh, we even got our nails done! You like?" I asked Edward and we walked to the car.

"Yes, very pretty," he grinned. "Now, show me what you got my little pumpkin."

We each carried the bags up to his room and spent the next hour looking at baby things and discussing names a little bit. Edward liked Lila for a girl and Henry for a boy. Traditional names, just like his family. I liked Rachel for a girl and William for a boy, Will for short. The middle name was going to be Anthony for a boy and Renee for a girl, no questions asked. We both knew that from the moment of our first doctor's appoinment and it finally seemed real.

Final Total: 14 bags and a manicure in 6 hours
