As I drove down the road that led to Forks, I couldn’t help but feel things were going to change. Life in London had taken yet another turn for the worse and I was beginning to break. My best friend Elphaba had a vacation home in Forks, and she told me it would be a great reprieve. Now as I began to look for a CD to drown out the silence. I felt the first pang of loneliness. My mother had begged to come with me after I told her. But I refused to allow anyone to come with me on this trip. I finally found my favorite CD and I slid it in and pressed play. Within Seconds Linkin Park began to fill the car. I smiled softly as I sped up, knowing I would be in Forks within the next couple of minutes.

I couldn’t help but smile brightly when I came upon the sign that said Forks welcome’s you. I caught sight of the small town and it was everything I knew it would be. I had seen dozens of pictures from Elphaba and Forks was just as beautiful now as it was in the photos. I pulled in front of a small café and I turned the car off. I frowned when I saw how many people were inside.

I have never really been a social person. I would spend all of my time in my room reading or staring out the window, daydreaming about leaving London. I looked nothing like my mother and it often was made public by the way people looked at me. I wasn’t tall but I wasn’t short either, I had long brown hair that reached my shoulders, which I kept pulled, back most of the time. My eyes were dark silvery orbs surrounded by a ring of green. I was thin, but I had curves in the right places. I pale to, I had always been pale, the dark circles under my eyes gave the impression that I was sick, when it was only from a lack of sleep.

I quickly swallowed whatever fear I had and I climbed out of the car. I had dressed to impress but I still made sure I wasn’t to dress up. I wore a simple white long sleeved shirt, with dark jeans, and black converse. I pulled my hair out of the bun and i ran my fingers through it a few times before pulling on my black jacket. I grabbed my bag and I locked my car before walking into the café.

All eyes were on me as I made my way to the small bar and I sat down. I kept praying I wouldn’t have to speak much, knowing my thick accent would give me away. The waitress walked up to me and she smiled, "What can I get for you Hun?" I thought for a moment I spoke slowly,

"Um, this is my first time here so I don’t know what to get"

The waitress heard my accent and she smiled softly, "Don’t worry dear, your accent wont give you away. It’s the car you’re driving, how about I get you the special" I nodded and my eyes scanned the room. Everyone looked the same except for a young girl sitting in the corner with what appeared to be her father. I looked at her for a few moments before the waitress pulled me out of my trance. My mouth began to water when she sat a bowl of hot chicken soup in front of me along with a small sandwich. I ate slowly and I tried to keep the attention away from me.

I finished my food and I went to stand in order to pay. I managed to make it to the register and pay for my meal without making a scene. But when I tried to leave, my feet got tangled in my bag and began to fall. I closed my eyes waiting for the impact, but it never came. I opened my eyes and I noticed a pair of large warm arms around me.

I turned and I opened my eyes, to find a pair of dark eyes staring back at me.

"Are you alright?"

I tried to nod, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of him, He frowned, "miss are you alright?" I nodded and I finally found the will to speak, "Yes, I’m alright…thank you" He stood me upright and he handed me my bag, He held his hand out and he smiled, I all but melted on the spot,

"I’m Jacob Black"

I reached out and I took his hand smiling when I felt how warm it was, "I’m Kitana. Kitana Malfoy" He arched a brow and he grinned, "I take it you’re not from around here. I can tell by the accent, what is that, British?" I nodded,

"Yes, I’m From London."

Jacob smiled, "Well Miss Malfoy, let me walk you to your car so I know you won’t trip again" I smiled and I began to walk out of the café. My eyes fell on the girl and a look of shock was written on her face. I frowned, I had only been here one day and already I had probably done something wrong.

Jacob walked me to my car and he stood by watching to make sure I didn’t trip again. I couldn’t help but blush when I saw him leaning against my car. I closed the back door and I smiled,

"Thanks for making sure I don’t break anything"

Jacob laughed and he nodded, "Well just make sure you don’t hurt yourself." I nodded and I leaned into my car. Jacob was quiet for a few minutes before clearing his throat, "well I need to get inside, I live in La Push and everyone is getting together tonight. I want you to come. " I nodded and I smiled. Jacob grinned and he walked inside. I climbed into my car and I watched as he sat next to the girl who had been starring at me. I frowned when I realized they must be together. I tried not to let it bother me, I had finally made a friend and I wasn’t going to ruin it.

I pulled away from the Café and I drove to the hotel I would be staying at. I carried my bags inside and I fell across the bed. I let out a sigh as my thoughts went to the girl and to Jacob. I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes, It was time for me to get ready. I unpacked and I took a shower before dressing in Jeans, Fur lined boots, and a long sleeved red shirt. I dried my hair and I pulled it back into a loose ponytail. I grabbed my jacket and by beanie before leaving the Hotel. I climbed into my car and I stopped when I saw a white envelope on the dashboard. I looked around and I arched a brow when I saw I was alone.

I took the envelope and I opened it. I pulled the letter out and I smiled softly as I read it,

The Directions to La Push are enclosed. Ill be waiting at the cabin to show you around the reservation. It’s going to be cold so bundle up. Be careful and ill see you soon.

Jacob

I pulled out the directions and I smiled. Under normal circumstances I would have been afraid but. There was something about Jacob that made me feel comfortable. I kept the directions in my lap and I drove away from Forks. It wasn’t long before I caught sight of the reservation. I pulled onto it and I followed the directions to his cabin. I parked and I climbed out, I pulled my jacket on and I pulled my beanie over my ears before locking my car and walking up to the door.

I knocked and I began to fidget as I waited. After what seemed like an eternity, an older man in a wheel chair opened the door.

"Can I help you?"

I smiled softly, "I’m looking for Jacob. My name is Kitana" The man smiled and he moved to the side allowing me to walk in. "Welcome to La Push Kitana. I’m Billy, Jacob’s father." I smiled as Billy closed the door. I sat in the living room for a few moments before Jacob came in. I immediately stood and I smiled.

Jacob ushered me outside before grabbing his jacket and leaving. We walked along the beach talking about our families. When we came upon the Bonfire a group of boys started walking towards us. Jacob smiled and I tried to relax. Jacob linked his arm in mine as he spoke,

"Kitana this is Embry, Quil and Sam. Guys this is Kitana, She is the girl from London I was telling you about"

The taller one, which I figured out, was Sam, Stepped forward and he took my hand in his. He smiled as he kissed the top of my hand, Welcome to America Kitana, and Welcome to La push" I smiled softly and Sam frowned,

"She is freezing Jacob. Get her closer to the fire"

Jacob and I sat near the other kids. I sat on the ground in front of his legs and I laughed as I listened to them tell jokes and stories of when they were kids. As the wind picked up I shivered and I pulled my knees closer to my chest. Jacob must have felt the shiver because he moved to sit directly behind me and he wrapped his arms around me. It was like being curled against a space heater.

The hours slowly ticked by and I hated to leave, but when it began to rain, I had no choice. Jacob walked with me back to my car and he once again leaned into it. I smiled as I stood close to him,

"I had so much fun tonight. Thank you for inviting me."

Jacob smiled and I felt butterflies in my stomach, "I’m really glad you came Kitana" I nodded and I opened the door. Jacob handed me a piece of paper and I looked at him,

"This is my number, I want you to call me when you get to the hotel and let me know you made it there safely"

I took the paper and I nodded. I smiled softly before climbing into the car and starting it. I tried not to look back as I drove away from La Push. I wanted so badly to turn around and go back. But I didn’t I was only going to be in Forks for a week and then I would be returning to London. The thought of returning made me want to cry.

As I drove I noticed the lights behind me getting closer and closer. I ignored it and I pulled in to the hotel. The lights behind me disappeared and I let out a sigh as I grabbed my bag and I climbed out of the car.

I walked down the sidewalk to the hotel and I began to hear footsteps behind me. I held my bag in front of me and I reached in for the can of pepper spray Elphaba had given me. When I reached the hotel I practically ran through the doors and into the lobby. I stumbled as I ran to the elevators.

As the doors closed I saw someone walk by. I held my breath as the elevator slowly climbed towards the 5th floor. When the doors open I pushed past the group of people and I ran to my room. I heard the footsteps stop just a few feet away from me.

I looked up to see a man standing at the end of the hallway, staring me down. I pushed the door opened I fell into my room. I locked the door and I ran to the bed. Tears began to roll down my cheeks as the truth hit me,

Someone was following me…
