1: Jacob and Renesmee
This is my take on Jake and Nessie's future. After all, their lives go beyond the end of Breaking Dawn! This story is part of the "Their Futures" Series!!! I will be adding more to this story and sequels will come when I finish it!!! The sequel, "2: Marie Masen", is up, but i'm having some difficulties with the second chapter!!! If you have any ideas leave them in a review of the first chapter that I have so far for my continuation!!!
I'm not afraid of harsh reviews so if you don't like my work then please tell me that!!! There is a quote froma very good book at the end, and as a disclaimer I admit that I had nothing to do with it!!! That bit of brilliance and humor belongs to Annette Curtis Klause!!! I also had absolutely nothing ot do will the creation of the Twilight Saga; I just enjoy manipulating its characters!!!

I was nervous as hell. I knew that they expected me to ask permission, and it really didn’t bother me other than the nagging question in the back of my mind: “What if they say no?” I try not to think that way though. Edward and Bella wouldn’t do that to me; well, Bella wouldn’t. All of this seemed really weird. I was asking my old rival and my first love for permission to propose to their daughter.
Nessie was waiting for me at Emmett and Rosalie’s house. I wasn’t too thrilled about that; Blondie still hates me, and I’m not too fond of her either. According to Edward, this was the first time they had moved anywhere and lived in separate houses. Even Alice and Jasper had their own house. Apparently there were four old Victorian style mansions, all within fifteen miles of each other, which Esme felt the need to renovate. Edward and Bella’s home was my favorite. The feeling of home is everywhere, and Nessie lives there, which is the main part of why I love it. The scenery was great, too. There was a beautiful view of the snowy mountains and a frozen lake in the center of the valley between them. I made my way up the driveway looking at the beauty surrounding me. If Nessie were here I wouldn’t be able to see how gorgeous this area was. She had a tendency to outshine everything and everyone in the vicinity. When I pulled up to the house, Edward and Bella were waiting for me on the front porch.
“Hello, Jacob. How are you?” Edward was smiling at me as he read my mind.
“I’m scared to death. How are you?” I smiled. He and Bella started laughing.
“I’m doing fine.”
“How are you, Bella?”
“I’m amused. You’re acting like one of us is going to attack you. I’m not going to kill you, and Edward’s bark is worse than his bite, trust me,” she said. He and I laughed at her use of irony to lighten tension in the air. I shook my head and replied, “I’m not sure if I believe that. A vampire bite is like a lethal injection to me.” We all laughed at my revelation, but I was still nervous. Where was Jasper when you needed him? Edward looked at me.
“We know why you’re here, and yes you may. I think that Renesmee might be ready to be rescued anyway. She went to Carlisle and Esme’s house because she knows how you and Rose feel about each other. Rose also said that she wasn’t letting you anywhere near her house for fear that the smell would linger.”
“Alice decided to help Rose get Nessie ready so she’s probably been treated like a life-size Barbie doll,” Bella said with a shudder. “Go save her from her aunts, and tell them that we’ll be there in a little bit.”
“Thank you, both, so much.” I felt a small amount of relief, but then I remembered that I still had to actually ask the question. They got up and gave me a hug, both wishing me luck as I got in my car and drove back down the driveway. I turned on the road to Carlisle and Esme’s house. Theirs was my second favorite. I liked Carlisle and Esme. Carlisle was an all-around good guy, and Esme was a very maternal person. If Nessie said yes, they would be my grandparents-in-law. Jasper was waiting for me outside. He sent a flood of calm over me.
“Thank you; I needed that.”
“Edward called. He said you might need some help staying conscious.”
We walked up the stairs and into the living room, which took up the entire first floor. I’d asked Esme why it was like that once. She told me that it helped to have room to move because Emmett and Jasper liked to wrestle and didn’t seem to be capable of going outside first. I’d laughed and said I didn’t blame them.
“Alice has been holding Renesmee hostage. She wouldn’t let any of us see her,” Carlisle said when I looked around for my angel. Alice’s voice floated down the stairs.
“Okay, we’re coming. Brace yourself, Jake. She looks like she ought to have wings.”
“She always looks like she ought to have wings,” I replied. Alice came down the stairs.
“You sound like Edward. That boy was always saying something about Bella’s inner and outer beauty before they got married. It’s even worse now. Okay, Renesmee; it’s time to knock him dead,” Alice said.
I watched the top of the stairs. When I saw Nessie appears, my heart stopped and my breath was knocked out of me. She was wearing a dark blue, halter top that was laced up the front with nothing but a string holding it together. My eyes traveled down. She was also wearing a denim mini-skirt and shoes with a heel that was at least four inches high. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her, and I didn’t trust myself not to keep my hands off of her later. Edward would kill me if he could hear my thoughts right now. She made it to the bottom step and I couldn’t stand the distance any longer. I ran to the stairs, and, grabbing her into my arms, spun around with her. She laughed, and I kissed her. When I sat her back down, I asked, “Who picked out this outfit?!”
“Aunt Rosalie bought it for me yesterday!” She smiled. I wasn’t sure if she was trying to be seductive, but if that was her goal she had succeeded with flying colors. I was mentally thanking Blondie when the front door opened. Edward was laughing as he and Bella walked into the house.
“Emmett, I think hell just froze over five times!” Edward was trying to control his laughter enough to state the reason when he saw Nessie. The smile left his face instantly and he stopped laughing in the same second.
“Go upstairs and change your clothes this instant, young lady!” His voice rang with fury. I struggled to censor my thoughts, but it wasn’t working. Even with her high-heels on I was still taller than her, and the halter top was so low-cut that seeing down her shirt was all too easy. The damn thing hugged every luscious curve of her upper body, too. The mini-skirt showed a vast majority of her long, sexy legs, and I couldn’t stop thinking about them. She looked at him defiantly. I could tell that Bella was worried and frustrated.
“Edward,” she said reproachfully as she stared into his eyes. I looked at them questioningly. What the hell was going on? Edward seemed too busy to answer my mental question.
“Bella is pushing her shield away from her mind to allow Edward to hear her thoughts. She’s trying to reason with him before he hurts someone. You and Rosalie will be the most likely targets if he loses his temper. I’ll help if he starts to get out of control, but I’m letting Bella try things her way. It usually works. The two people in this world that he doesn’t want to upset more than anyone else are Bella and Nessie, but when the paternal side of his temper is triggered Bella is the only person who can calm him down without force,” Jasper explained. I felt grateful for Jasper again. He was a very helpful guy. I looked back at Edward and Bella. They were walking outside. The rest of us waited inside for them to come back in. After about ten minutes Edward walked back through the door followed by a triumphant looking Bella.
“Go out and have fun, you two,” she said. I took Nessie’s hand and we made our way to the door.
“Will you go ahead and start the car, Jake? I need to talk to Dad for a second.” Nessie looked into my eyes, and I knew that I needed to go and start the car.
“Okay,” I said worriedly and walked out the door.
Nessie stood in front of me with a pleading look on her face.
I’m not a little girl anymore, Dad. Please don’t be mad about the outfit. Aunt Rosalie may have picked it out, but I could’ve refused to wear it. I just wanted to see Jake’s jaw drop to the floor. It didn’t, but Grandpa told Grandma that he thought he was going to have to do chest compressions to “restart the poor boy’s heart”. Aunt Alice did warn him, though. I know that you probably want to kill Jacob for whatever he’s thinking, but if Mom were wearing this you would be thinking the exact same thing and you know it. You’re my father, and I love you. But you have to remember that I love Jake the way Mom loves you. The cases are very similar. Asking one of us to live without the other would be like asking you and Mom to live without each other. I know for a fact that you know how impossible that is. I also know that Jake’s going to ask me to marry him, and I’m going to say yes. I’m going to plan my wedding with the help of Mom, Aunt Alice, Aunt Rose, and Grandma Esme. When the big day arrives, I will expect you to walk me down the aisle without complaint. Can you handle that?
I nodded and hugged her tightly.
“If you hadn’t inherited your mother’s eyes, I might actually be able to stay mad at you long enough to do something productive. You seem to have gotten my ability to argue effectively without much persuasion, too. That is a dangerous combination,” I said, shaking my head in defeat.
“You forgot about the inability to be reasoned with that she got from me,” Bella said. “Now get going, Renesmee. Jacob is probably about to pace a ditch in the driveway.”
“Hey, Edward; you never did tell us why Hell froze over five times.”
“Jacob was mentally thanking Rosalie.” My teeth ground together, and I spoke through them. “Apparently he likes Renesmee’s outfit a lot. I swear, if he doesn’t keep his hands to himself, he will lose them along with something else.”
Bella pushed her shield from her mind once again.
It doesn’t matter either way. I’m not saying that I condone them having sex, but it wouldn’t make me angry. Jake would never do anything that Nessie didn’t want him to do. We have to trust our daughter. She may have acquired some of our less wonderful traits, but she got some of the good ones, too. We don’t need to worry. I know that she probably got my “impatient human hormones”, as you called them, but she might also have gotten your ability to resist temptation.
“If she inherited the former, I definitely hope the latter was included, too,” I said.
Nessie walked out of the house with a smile on her face. I walked around the car and opened the door for her.
“Thank you,” she said as she got into the passenger seat.
“No problem.” I shut the door behind her, walked to the driver’s side, and got in. I had everything planned out. We were going to a secluded cottage in the woods for a romantic dinner together, and I was going to cook. Esme had fixed it up for us. It was twenty miles from Edward and Bella’s house. She looked at the house as we pulled up. The front porch was the width of the house, and you could see a balcony on the second floor that was connected to a bedroom. We climbed the stairs, and I unlocked the front door. I directed Nessie to the kitchen/dining room. She looked around at all the stuff and when she turned toward the table I was there. I pulled out a chair and she sat down.
“What would you like to eat?” I asked while pushing her chair in.
“Hmm… What is there?”
“Everything you can think of, I imagine.”
“Steak and mashed potatoes?”
“Medium rare on the steak, right?”
“Yes, please. Do you need any help?”
“No, I’m okay. With my appetite, I’ve learned how to cook quickly and efficiently. I love you, Nessie, my angel.”
“I love you, too, Jake.”
I kissed her and held her tightly. She put her hands on my face and I caught broken images that I couldn’t figure out.
“I vote that we skip dinner,” she said breathlessly when it was obvious that I had no clue what she really wanted.
I brought my lips back to his and he groaned in agreement. I put my hands on his neck and showed him what I had in mind to do instead. The kiss deepened as he saw my idea. I wrapped my legs around his waist and kicked off my shoes. He was walking up the stairs with me in his arms. The next thing I knew, my back was on the bed. He unlaced my shirt and untied the bow behind my neck. I heard his breath catch when he saw the lingerie-type bra beneath it.
“That part was Aunt Alice’s idea. Thanks for not ripping the shirt, by the way.”
“I like that shirt. I’m going to be careful not to rip any of this stuff. I want to see it again.”
He kissed from the base of my neck all the way to my lips. I got impatient and ripped his shirt off. I didn’t want his lips to leave my skin. He unzipped my skirt while I unbuttoned his pants. Undressing didn’t take any longer than two minutes total. As soon as we were naked, he was everywhere at once. The heat of his skin on mine added to the sensuality of the moment. The taste of his mouth on mine was seductive. I couldn’t get enough of him, and I most definitely wanted more. We made love again and again until finally our energy ran out, which did not happen quickly.
“Wow!” Jake pulled me closer as he spoke.
“That’s the understatement of the century!” I rubbed my leg against his.
“Will you marry me? I was going to ask while we had dinner, but we sort of voted against eating.”
“Yes; I’d love to marry you.”
“I’d get up and get the ring, but I really don’t want to move from this position. You feel so good pressed up against me. I never want to leave this bed. I could stay here and make love to you forever. I love you, my darling Renesmee.”
“And I love you. Why did we come here? What is this place?”
“Esme renovated this house for us. Everyone was extremely sure that you would say yes, so she made this house part of her project. She’s very gifted. I love it here.”
“I love it, too. It reminds me of the first house that Grandma did for Mom and Dad.”
“You’re right. My wonderful, beautiful fiancée; I’m so glad that agreed to marry me. I want to wake up next to you every morning from now on.” He looked into my eyes and kissed me softly. I laughed when I remembered something I had read last year.
“What’s so funny?” he asked.
“I just remembered something that I read a while back. The book was called Blood and Chocolate. It was by Annette Curtis Klause. It was about werewolves. Toward the end, a girl says to her werewolf mate, ‘Don’t wag your tail yet, wolfman. You’ve bitten off more bunny than you can chew.’ You might as well let that be your warning.”
“I’ve watched you grow up from a little baby that grew a lot in a little amount of time to a sweet, sassy, sexy woman that I just can’t get enough of, and you think I don’t know that already. I may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but I’m not the dimmest one, either,” he teased. I kissed him playfully and he responded passionately. We made love until we were out of energy again, and then fell asleep in each others’ arms.
