Edward's POV

A few weeks had passed since the accident and Bella still hasn't talked to me, other than an occasional hello. Instead, she was with Jake, someone I despised almost as much as Tanya. Every morning the two would drop off the twins before driving to their classes and every morning I wanted nothing more than to knock him out and make Bella realize she wants me. And the truth is, she does want me, she just doesn't know it yet. Her desire for me still lingers. I can tell that by the way I see her stealing looks at me out of the corner of her eye; by the way she pulls her hair off her shoulders exposing her neck; and the way she licks her lips. Yes, she does want me and I will win her back.

"You're crazy man," Jasper said to me. "There's no way you're getting her back."

"Yeah, she's happy with Jake. He's a good guy," Emmett said

"I don't care if he's a good guy. He could be a saint for all I care. He's just not staying with my Bella."

"She's not your Bella anymore," Jasper said.

"Sure she is. She's the mother of my children. If that doesn't claim her to me, than I don't know what does."

"What are you, a cave man? Are you going to drag her back by her hair when you see her with Jake? Just because she had Maddy and Masen doesn't means she's yours," Emmett said.

"No, see, it's quite simple. Bella's having fun with Jake. As soon as he says or does something that makes her angry, I guarantee she'll be here, and then she'll realize she needs me."

"And I'm sure you're going to help him with that, aren't you," Jasper asked.

"Possibly. The boy isn't that smart, so he may just do it all on his own."

"That boy has kept a smile on Bella's face since the day she met him. Doesn't that count for something," Emmett asked.

"Nope. She smiled with me too."

"And she cried a lot because of you, too. In my book, they cancel each other out," Jasper said.

"You'll see. She'll be back and I'll make her happier than she could ever be with Jake."

The doorbell rang and Jasper answered.

"Hey Bells," I heard him say.

"Take one before I drop them both," she said.

"Where's Jake," Jasper asked walking into the living room with Masen on his hip.

"He's gone for the next month."

Excellent! A month of Bella all to myself. No Jake. No Interruptions. Just us. These next four weeks will be the best four weeks of her life and by the end of it, she'll forget all about him.

"Where'd he go," Emmett asked, taking Maddy from Bella.

"He's finishing up his training to be a fire fighter," She said putting down the diaper bags, her book bag and sitting next to Emmett.

"What about school," Jasper asked.

"He had to drop out. With Billy being so sick, Jake couldn't afford his medical bills and college expenses. Billy wasn't happy when Jake told him, but what else could he do?"

"What's wrong with him," I asked.

"I'm not exactly sure and Jake doesn't like to talk about it," Bella said yawning and rubbing her eyes.

"You feel okay, Bells? Look awfully tired," Emmett asked.

"I'm beyond tired. Between writing two papers and Maddy having a cold, I think I've gotten maybe two hours of sleep."

"Just one of the many joys of being a parent, right," I asked.

Bella glared at me.

"Like you know. You haven't kept both of them overnight before."

"I'm sure it's not that difficult," I said.

"Really? Then what does Maddy need to fall asleep?"

"A bottle?"

"Her pink fuzzy blanket. What does Masen like at nap time?"

"A blanket?"

"No. He likes music. Of course you'd know this is if you did the parenting, rather than Esme."

"I do! But it's difficult with my shoulder still being sore."

Bella rolled her eyes.

"Poor baby. I lug around two diaper bags, the stroller, my book bag and both kids. Do you hear me complaining about it?"

"I'd be willing to give you a back rub, if you'd like."

"Touch me and I'll have Jake break your other shoulder," Bella said getting up and walking into the kitchen with the diaper bags.

Emmett and Jasper both laughed.

"Still think you can win her back," Emmett asked.

"I guarantee it. By the end of the next month, she'll be begging me to take her back."

"I heard that!" Bella yelled from the kitchen.

"Heard what, love," I asked as Bella stormed back in the room.

"One, don't call me love. Two," Bella said leaning into me and whispering, "the only thing I'll be begging for is Jake's lips on my skin."

Before she could do anything, I pulled her to me and planted one hell of a kiss on her beautiful lips. She struggled a bit to pull herself away, but I wasn't about to let her go. She was still mine and I knew if she felt the passion in this kiss, it would light the fire that was once there; re-spark the craving of my arms around her, of my lips whispering soft nothings into her ear causing her to get goosebumps. It was all still there, I knew it. She couldn't just force it away so quickly. My body longed to have her curl up next to me and fall asleep on my chest; to smell the strawberry shampoo she loved; to hear hear talk in her sleep; the feeling of her fingers curled in my hair when she kissed me. I needed it. I needed her. I don't care if she was with Jake. I knew he couldn't make her feel like this; his kisses couldn't stop her breathing; his voice couldn't cause goosebumps on her skin. He didn't know her well enough to do that. Only I did. I knew I was the one she dreams about at night; I was the one she wanted kissing her skin..every inch of her skin; I was the only one who could make her quiver with my touch, make her beg for more and scream out in utter pleasure, and I would be damned if I would let Jake slide in and take it all away from me.
