I felt my gift around me. Jane’s gift attacked me but my own gift snapped it in seconds. She looked perplexed. Then I let her have it. Her gift, used on her but stronger then ever. That was my gift. I could remove other peoples and use them myself. I was the ultimate danger.
“Demetri! Felix!” Caius ordered. Demetri (I assumed) came forward while Felix hesitated. Then Demetri froze. My gift held him in place. I didn’t just remove gifts, I could remove physical abilities. The ability to move, breathe, eat, everything. If I didn’t want it, it was gone. I ran on. I could hear the vampires chasing after me. I needed to stop them but it took concentration. I could see the door ahead of me.

A hulking figure blocked me. Felix! I hesitated. The vampires weren’t far behind but I didn’t want to hurt Felix.

“Felix, move!” I said.

“Felix. I don’t want to hurt you. Please, just move!” he was torn between his love for me and his bond to the Volturi. Power swirled around me. I turned to face them. I wouldn’t hurt Felix.

“STOP!” to my surprise, they did.

“I won’t do this,” I said. Aro stepped forward. My hair felt alive with electricity, my fingers burned with power. I was powerful.

“You cannot leave. You are unknown!” hissed Caius. I casually removed his ability to speak.

“I won’t let there be anymore bloodshed,” I told him “I could kill all of you, but I try to control my ability. But I can’t be contained. Let me go, or I will destroy you” I warned. He stared.

“I’m sorry. But as Caius says, you are unknown” I didn’t resist as they took me away.

Days flew past. I didn’t eat, I didn’t sleep, and I didn’t speak. I had formed an oasis in my mind. Alec and Felix tried to talk to me but I ignored them. I had heard Aro, Marcus and Caius discussing me. I was suffering. I longed to be with the mother that I had never known, to be with the man who had cared for me, with the family who had found me. But I couldn’t. I sighed and heard someone passing the door. Probably Felix. I ignored his pacing and settled back into nothing.

“Alec? What are you doing here?” I was in the future. I was taller, I looked about sixteen. Alec was standing opposite me.

“I’m sorry. But you have to leave him. He’s evil!”

The visions no longer made sense. I growled. The chains had been removed, except for one long chain that was attached to my wrist. I was curled up in the corner. My eyes were as dark as they could go. I wouldn’t touch the food they gave me and I was getting very thin. I knew it was only a matter of time before Aro tried something and I snapped. I heard a noise outside but kept my eyes closed. Each day I was subject to ‘testing’ or torture as I called it. Jane particularly enjoyed this, now that I had removed my gifts influence from her. The door opened and Aro came in, followed by a delicious smell.

“Hello Cadyna. How are you today?” I growled quietly. That was like asking a prisoner how there day had been. In fact, he was doing just that. I was a prisoner. A prisoner of my own will.

“I’ve brought you a present,” he continued. I didn’t like his expression. He clicked his fingers and a vampire came in, dragging someone with them. I froze. A small girl. Even though I was appalled, I couldn’t stop myself from trying to seize her. I pulled against my chain, struggling to reach her. It wasn’t me. It was my vampire side. Aro smiled. He pushed the girl forward, just in reach of my claws. NO! I yelled my thoughts aloud. Aro looked at me.

“I won’t do it. Do what ever you want to me, kill me even, just don’t kill innocents”

“Perfect” he said. He gestured for the guard to take the girl away. My mouth was still watering after her delicious scent.

“I have an offer for you”
