“What?” I said when he had told me his offer.

“I would have thought it would have been obvious. Your amazing ability. We need you to destroy somebody. In return, you go free”

“And if I don’t except?”

“Then, obviously you would stay here”

“I don’t care,” I said, fiercely. I would not shed blood.

“And the Cullen’s would be killed” said Caius from the doorway “along with that wolf pack” I glared. They had found the chink in my armor. I didn’t want innocents to die, and the Cullen’s were as innocent as it got.

“That’s murder!” I said, angrily.

“We’re vampire’s honey, it’s what we do” said Caius. I flew across the room and hit him in the face, hard. He groaned.

“So, will you do it? It‘s the only way to spare the Cullen‘s. that or become one of us” Aro asked, ignoring the groaning Caius.

“Fine!” I yelled.

“Excellent!” said Aro, cheerfully. He unchained me.

“But I must warn you. If you attempt to run away, the Cullen’s will pay the price,” he said. I nodded.

I was seated in my car. Since I had started eating blood again, I had shot up. I looked about fifteen. Looked like prolonged absence of blood made my growth accelerate. But I knew I wouldn’t being do that again. I would age slowly as well. Carlisle had predicted that I would stop ageing by the time that I looked eighteen. Good. I stared out into the rain, waiting. It had been a week. One day for travel, the rest to plan. I wasn’t looking forward to this, but I had to weigh one life against the lives of my friends. Not that Edward was my friend. I heard a noise as my target came into view. He couldn’t see my car but I could see him clearly. A drug dealer. He had insulted the Volturi a while ago but they had let him go. Let him feel safe. They needed someone strong to bring down this vampire. A vampire drug dealer? That was my thought when Aro had told me. I got out of the car silently. The target lived in a large, creepy looking house. I knew that in a minute he would be off to choose his prey. I walked down the road in the classic nightclub gear. He reappeared when I was about halfway down. He sped up, I could hear.

“Hey!” he said when he was in human hearing range. I turned. Turned back and walked faster. Classic human reaction.

“Hey, don’t be like that!” he was quite good looking. In a weird way. He caught up with me and grabbed my hand.

“Let go of me!” I said, trying not to sound forceful (like a human who is afraid).

“I’m sorry. How about I take you to get a drink?” he seemed to have the gift of the charm.

“Err…sure” I said, dazed. He smiled and led me to his house. He took me into his kitchen and poured me a drink. I sipped it gently. Then he kissed me. I pushed him away, stunned.

“What are you doing?”

“Oh come on sweetheart. What did you think I invited you back here for?”

“A…a…drink” I was actually afraid. I felt like all my strength had deserted me.

“Not a chance” he pushed his charm power and kissed me. Suddenly I was kissing him back. Passionately. He pushed me against the wall and his hands tangled into my hair. He held me close, his arms were like steel. I enjoyed it. That horrified me and made me act. I kneed him in the groin. He grunted but didn’t pull away. Then I shoved him over the table. He landed on the floor and cursed. He flew at me, but I shifted and attacked. He was dead in minutes.

“Son of a b****” I said. I took a photo as evidence and left.
