I gasped aloud as I sat up in a cold dark room. I didn’t even remember what happened. How did I even get in here? Was the last few hours just a dream of some sort, and if so then why did it feel so real? I heard a loud crash to my left and saw, once my eyes adjusted to the darkness, that there was a door there. I felt around on the floor until I was on my hands and knees crawling in the direction the noise came from. I was trying very hard to control my breathing if this was a place where I really didn’t need to make myself heard or seen. I felt the cold cement floor in front of me to be able to somewhat tell where I was going. I stopped as my hand hit what felt like a wall. I adjusted my position and began to feel the wall to find any sort of exit or crack to at least know where the door was. My hand reached what felt like the hinges to a door. I sat on the floor and pressed my ear against the cold door. “No Victoria, if you won’t to go through with this plan you can’t keep it here. You know that the temptation is too hard for the army. One will eventually get to her” My heart literally stopped. Victoria. It wasn’t a dream. This was really truly happening. “Riley WHAT do you suggest we do with her then eh? If you are so concerned about her safety why don’t you watch after her? She doesn’t have that much longer to live anyway” I gasped. They had to be talking about me. But what could Victoria possibly want with me? It made no sense. If she wanted my blood she would have taken that already. But no she wants something more apparently. And to keep me safe? Army? Trying to keep my breathing steady and calm was beginning to be extremely difficult. I gasped in a deep breath as I felt a single tear run down my cheek. Just thinking that I would never again see my husband, never see my children grow up, never see Edward…. even if would have only been dreams. It was hurting me so bad and that was probably exactly what she was going for. A long torturous death instead of just a quick snap of the neck. No pain there. Just surprise, and death. “She’s awake” I gasped and slid back from the door quickly. I turned around and crawled to the opposite side of the room hoping to get as far from them as possible. The door slowly slid open as the two creatures walked in. Edwards POV “ALICE!? What do you see??” I stared into the eyes of my shocked sister. I would have just been able to see it myself had I not had my own mind on different things. Alice’s mind was always on Bella. And that was most of the reason why I tried to block it out. Alice gasped and screamed a sound that would have made any human nearby deaf. I grabbed a hold of the sides of her shirt and forced her to stay calm. “Alice now calm down and replay what you saw without freaking out” she nodded glumly and I saw flickers of Bella…. with red. But that wasn’t just red; it was hair…Victoria’s hair. Alice showed me what she could before shrieking again. I completely lost all of the feeling in my body. This couldn’t be happening. Bella; my Bella, taken by these monsters. And what could I even do with her husband being a werewolf. “Edward we have to save her. You know that right” Alice asked me panicked. “Of course. We will do everything it takes to make her safe. That creature has issues with me, and shouldn’t have even brought Bella into this” We stood and ran down to the living room where the others were already waiting. “If you heard what just happened then you know that we have to save Bella from …Victoria” Alice whispered next to me. I heard my mother let out a sharp breath. “B-Be-Bella was taken by them? But I thought that she was with those wolves. Weren’t they suppose to keep her safe” “Yes, but I never should have put my trust in their word. I should have ignored Jacob’s command to stay as far from her as possible” “What!?” Alice shrieked. I turned to face my small pixie sister. She glared into my eyes “Edward you better not be serious. Jacob can’t keep her safe obviously. I mean I wonder if he even knows that she’s gone” “Speaking of which” Carlisle interrupted “Shouldn’t we go instead of just standing around here debating about it” I nodded and took off out the door. First things first, I need to make sure the kids are okay.. I came up onto the old brick house seconds later with Alice right behind me. I was just about to reach the front steps when I collided into what felt like a boulder. I heard Alice let out a shriek as I jumped to my feet. “WHERE is she?!” It was the wolf. As if I didn’t already have enough reasons to hate him. How could he honestly think that I would ever do anything to harm Bella? He grabbed my shoulders and threw me to the ground. “Tell me now you filthy leech” he snarled. “Jacob calm down” Alice pleaded, “We don’t know where Bella is, but we do know who has her” Jacobs defence immediately switched to the Alice. I tackled him to the ground before he could even think about harming her. Alice flinched as if waiting for something, but continued. “We came by here to tell you that she has been taken by others of our kind, and to make sure that the kids weren’t harmed” Jacob shook his head. “What do you mean? Is it the same leeches that were here last week?” Alice and I both nodded in unison. Jacob looked up at me astonished. “How did they get her?” I shook my head. “Alice just got the vision a few minutes ago. I’m not sure how or when they got her, but they did, and we need to stop Victoria” Jacob cocked an eyebrow as if asking ‘Why does she even have a name?’ “Oh so it has a name?” he grumbled. Right on target. “Yes and I’m quite surprised Bella hasn’t already told you the truth behind that ‘fall’ in Phoenix” he shook his head. “She did. She told me all of that even though I could tell it hurt her to speak of you” he turned to glare at me as the last few words were spoken. I shuddered as Jacob started to show me glimpses of Bella. She looked like a walking corpse. She had no ambition in life. How could my leaving affect her so much? It was me that was supposed to be the only one suffering when I left. I had to keep her safe. I was trying to keep her as far from my world as possible, but it seemed as if that were never going to happen entirely. I have damned Bella’s life, the day I met her. “Jacob STOP” I heard Alice scream. I noticed then that I was on the ground. I didn’t even remember moving. I felt two tiny arms curl under my arms and pull me from the ground “Edward is beating himself up enough without your help. He never wanted to leave Bella. He only wanted to keep her safe” “Oh and that worked out so well didn’t it?” He sneered. “LOOK” Alice shrieked, “This is not the time to do this. Are you forgetting that Bella needs us right now” Jacob nodded. “Now before we do anything” Alice began, before she turned grudgingly to face Jacob “The girls. Are they with someone? Safe?” Jacob nodded. “Yes, they’re at Sam’s house” “Ok, Alice and I know where it’s at…. We may need you and the pack” I was trying to rake through his thoughts so I could tell what the answer was going to be. “We will be there…but where is there at?” He added looking up from the ground. Alice sighed in relief that we were actually starting to get through to the dog. “They are in the old abandoned warehouse, off thirty-six, in Port Angeles” Jacob nodded and took off into the forest. I closed my eyes and felt a wave of grief hit me like a strong blow as I saw a new vision in Alice’s mind. “And hurry Jacob we don’t have much time” I whispered as I plummeted back to the ground.
