Hidden Feelings

What if Edward wasn't the only one who loved Bella? What if someone hid their feelings for her. What if they stopped her jumping? What if they were taken?

Ok, this is twilight and new moon combined. From the point of view of Jasper.

I drove the Mercedes down the streets of phoenix. Bella was asleep in the back of the car, her head resting on Alice’s neck. I envied her even there. Not that she’d want to be close to me. We were nearly at the hotel and part of me was thankful. Her scent had filled the car and it took all my resistance not to attack her. She was mouthwatering. The hotel came into view and I hurried out the car. Alice carried Bella up the stairs to our room and placed her on the bed inside. I sat in the living room and stared into space. It was going to be a long wait.

When Bella woke, Alice pressured her into eating. You could tell she didn’t enjoy the attention, and there was something else she wasn’t happy about.

“You’ve done so much for me. I don’t understand”

“Bella, our family is strong. Our only fear is losing you” was it that complicated? I would have thought it was obvious.

“But, why?”

“Edwards been alone for nearly a century. You haven’t seen the changes we can see. Do you think any of us want to look in his eyes for the next century if he loses you?” Alice said. No. I didn’t want to feel what he would feel for the next century either.

Bella nodded and walked out of the room. Alice followed. I heard Bella ask her questions, about creating vampires. Then Alice gasped. I ran in.

“What is it Alice?”

“The tracker, he just changed course. He’s in a room, the walls are made of mirrors, and there’s a golden stripe along the wall. He’s watching a TV, no running a VCR. It’s dark”

“Where is it?”

“I don’t know, but we know he won’t be in Washington being hunted. He’ll elude them”

“Should we call?” Bella spoke for the first time since the vision.

Me and Alice exchanged glances.

The phone rang. Alice picked it up and handed it to Bella. She left the room to speak to Edward, while Alice began to sketch the room of mirrors. When Bella came back, she looked at the picture.

“That’s a ballet studio,” she said.

“Do you know this place?”

“I took lessons as a kid, the hall was shaped like that, except the stereo was here, and it was older and there wasn’t a VCR”

“Would you have any reason to go back there now?”

“No, I was a terrible dancer, they always put me at the back for recitals” she confessed. Alice attempted to draw the other room but it was to dark. Then there was nothing to do but wait.

“Alice!” I called as she blanked out.

“What is it?” Bella asked.

“Something’s brought the tracker back to the room with the VCR, but it’s light now” she sketched.

“The phone goes there,” Bella said suddenly. We both looked at her.

“It’s my mother’s house” Alice was up in a flash, on the phone. I walked closer to Bella and put my hand on her shoulder. The feel of her warm skin…NO!

“Bella, Edward’s going to come and get you. He’s going to take you away”

What? No!
