“I’m tired of being cooped up inside all the time.” Alice complained one day. The sun shone through the window throwing rainbows throughout the room as it touched our diamond skin.
“Why can’t it be cloudy more often? I see it being sunny for all of next week. How are we going to be able to miss that much school without raising suspicions?” She continued on her rampage. She did have a point though. In Forks, sunny days had been so rare that the Cullens had hardly ever missed school. Here it was sunny at least once a week.
“Carlisle, she has a point...” Edward hinted. He was always the most logical next to Carlisle.
“I know Edward, I don’t think we will be able to stay here much longer. Where would we move though? We can’t go back to Washington for at least of couple more decades.” It had only been 20 years since we lived in Forks, 20 years since I became a vampire. I hadn’t noticed Emmett come in; I was too deep in thought.
“I think we should travel the world. I’ve never been anywhere besides Canada and America. I wanna see the world!” He boomed suddenly. Emmett always had the most extreme and random ideas. I was pretty sure if it were possible for a vampire to have A.D.D, Emmett would have it.
“That actually isn’t such a bad idea.” Alice seconded. I couldn’t believe it. Were they actually thinking about this?
“We could go to Italy and see the Volturi...” Carlisle mused. The Volturi had sent a letter about 10 years back apologizing for their actions. They weren’t entirely forgiven; they had still tried to kill my daughter. Renesmee and Jake lived somewhere in Canada as a married couple now. She had wanted to get away from the family for a while.
“We could go to Milan! Bella, think of the clothes you, Rosalie, and I could get.” Alice suddenly was hopping up and down with excitement. Of course she wanted to go to the fashion capital of the world. It was so...Alice. By now the whole family was in the living room and practically foaming at the mouth with excitement. I had to admit, it could be fun.
“I think that we might be able to work this out. Where would you all want to go?” Carlisle asked. There was an immediate wave of answers.
“Australia.” Esme said.
“Tokyo.” Rosalie sounded bored.
“Uh...Greece?” It sounded like a question when I said this. Jasper and Edward exchanged a look and grinned.
“Africa.” They both said at the exact same time. Everyone besides Emmett looked confused.
“For the hunting.” Edward explained. I laughed; of course they would want to hunt some lions. The carnivores tasted much better than the herbivores.
“Well I guess that’s settled. The only remaining question is, how do you plan on going around in the sun, without being noticed?” Carlisle asked. Alice rolled her eyes like it was the most obvious thing ever.
“Carlisle, we can go out at night. Plus they're tons of rural areas in Africa. We will be fine." Alice walked over to Jasper and he put his arm around her tiny waist.
"Well, I guess we're going over seas. Jasper, can you get us all passports? Esme honey, can you call the school and tell them we're moving? Everybody else, start packing!" Carlisle laughed at his own enthusiasm. “We’ll be keeping the rest of our things at the house in Forks.”
Everyone was really zealous. Rosalie and Alice wouldn't stop talking about the clothes. Edward and Emmett wouldn't shut up about the animals. I was just excited to go somewhere new. I had never been outside of the country; except for the couple of times we had gone hunting in Canada and when I went to Italy to save Edward. I had always wanted to travel, but my family would have never been able to afford to go anywhere overseas. Until I met the Cullens, I had never had much money. I began to ponder all of the things I wanted to see and do. I worked in silence with Edward next to me as we packed up our room. I saw everything that we had acquired in our life together, all of his music, and my books. When I picked up Wuthering Heights, Edward laughed. He still didn’t quite understand my love for the book.
“How many times have you read that book now?” He grinned.
“Enough times to know my favorite parts by heart.” I retorted. It was one of my favorites; I hated when he poked fun at it. We finished the rest of our packing quickly and soon had our boxes and suitcases downstairs. Alice and Jasper came down soon after us. Jasper had given Alice a dose of tranquility. She was going to give her self a complex. Alice had about 10 boxes just for her clothes plus the four suitcases.
“Alice, do you ever throw anything away?!” I asked astonished. Jasper chuckled darkly.
“Bella, these clothes are just from the fall and winter. I’m hoping to get the rest of my spring wardrobe in Milan. Think of the parties we’ll be able to get in to!” Even Jasper couldn’t control the wave of excitement that flowed through her.
“Not to mention the fact that not even the Volturi could stop me from being in Milan during Fashion Week!” She practically shrieked.
“What’s fashion week?” I asked, honestly curious. Alice looked like I had just committed a serious offense.
“WHAT IS FASHION WEEK? Probably the most important week in any major designer’s life. Bella, Fashion Week is the one week a year where designers display their latest collections; it lets people know what trends are in and what are out.” She started out furious but ended sounding condescending, like she was trying to tell a two year old something very simple. I rolled my eyes. Alice couldn’t honestly expect me to know what that was, could she?
“You had better be happy that I will at least wear heels and miniskirts now.” I snapped. Being a vampire had given me grace and coordination, but it hadn’t given me any more fashion sense. I no longer had to watch out for my feet when I walked.“Bella, how could you not know what Fashion Week was?” Jasper and Edward mimicked Alice. I pushed my shield away and mentally stuck my tongue out at Edward. Rose and Emmett appeared after, carrying 6 boxes and 4 suitcases. Rosalie had a lot of clothes, but she had nothing compared to Alice. We knew we wouldn’t be able to leave for at least a day or two, but we wanted to be ready. Esme had called the school an informed them that Carlisle got a sudden job offer. All we had to do was book the tickets
