I watched the trees flash by. I was in Alice’s Porsche with her, Jasper and Esme. Bella was driving her Ferrari, Edward in his Volvo, Emmett in his jeep (with Jasper’s motorcycle in the back), Rosalie in her convertible and Carlisle in the Mercedes.
“We really have to sort out getting you a car,” said Alice.
“Well you know that you can’t drive them around here. If we’re attending high school that is”
“I know,” she groaned. We would have to walk or get a lift with Carlisle.
“I’ve already got you registered at a local school. Brighton Hill Community College. Emmett, Jasper and Rosalie are going to start in year 11. Edward, Bella, Alice in year 10 and you in year nine”
“I think I can play the innocent little sister pretty well”
“Anyone picks on you and Emmett and Jasper will beat them up,” said Alice.
“Thanks sis” I teased. She smiled. We drew up outside a large house. It was brick, and had lots of windows. There was a large garage. I looked the way we had come and saw a pair of large, iron gates about half a mile away.
“Esme made it” Alice replied. I streaked up to the house. Bella, Edward, Rosalie and Carlisle has already arrived.
“Where’s Emmett?” Jasper asked. Alice giggled.
“He decided to drive via Scotland,” sighed Edward.
“Typical” said Esme “we’ve only been in the house for five minutes and Emmett’s already messing it up”
“He’s not here yet, we’ll be here for at least ten minutes before he starts,” teased Alice. Then she turned to me.
“C’mon Cadyna, we have to get your bedroom”
“Race you!” I said. We were actually evenly matched. I could run faster but she could see which room I would go for. The house was four stories high (the top floor was just one big room). I ran past the kitchen, living room, dining room and library. Up to the top floor.
“You want this one?”
“Yes. It’s perfect” it was large. There were two skylights and two tiny rooms attached.
“Wardrobe space” commented Alice. I grimaced. I hadn’t the addiction she had to clothes. I liked loose clothes that I could jump out of quickly to phase. I stood under the skylight and watched as my skin reflected onto the walls. I liked it. I was going to put diamonds in the windows. Emmett’s jeep pulled up. This was our new home, my new home.
“Have you got your bag?”
“Yes” I sighed. Esme was fussing.
“I’m only going to school, not to wrestle snakes,” I said. She smiled. Edward beeped his horn. I kissed her cheek and ran off. Carlisle had had to leave early, so Edward had decided to drive but park around the corner.
“This is my first run,” I said.
“Wow. And you’re how old?” Emmett teased.
“About 76” we hadn’t been able to determine the right age. Edward accelerated to fast down the road. We were at the school in minutes. He parked a street away.
“Meet outside the school this afternoon”
“What’s our story again?” they all sighed.
“I don’t have a photographic memory, unlike you lot” yes I do, but they don’t need to know that.
“Rosalie and Jasper are twins, as normal. Alice, Bella and you are sisters. Me and Emmett are extras,” Edward explained.
“I know” Emmett grinned and punched me lightly on the arm. We got out of the car and followed the stream of students in their hideous yellow uniform.
“I can’t believe we have to wear this!” wailed Rosalie. Even though she had managed to customize our uniforms (us girls), she still wasn’t happy. Shortened the skirt (not compulsory but looked better), pulled some of the buttons off, and binned the blazer. I was going for meek rather then style. Normal skirt, dark tights etc. we were ready to take on the first day. I smiled, imagining the gossip that would have formed by the end of the day.
