Notes:
I don't own these characters except for Roxanna, Rhiannon and Shannon. Roxanna's father is partly property of bram stoker and partly property of my imagination. The rest are Stephenie Meyers and i'm seriously annoyed about that. This is not based on the song Rebel without a clue

I waited as long as I could for her to turn up. I was supposed to be giving her a lift to La Push. Eventually, I rang the doorbell.

“Hello Mrs Newton. I was wondering if Roxie’s in. We had plans”

“What? I thought Roxie was spending the night at your house. She didn’t come home last night”

“Oh. Actually, I remember. She was sleeping at La Push last night at a friend’s house” she smiled and shut the door. What was going on? I drove to Bella’s house and rang the doorbell. She opened the door and smiled. Her smile vanished when she gauged my expression.

“I need you to call Jacob, urgently”

“Why?”

“I want to shout at him,” I said. She didn’t say anything but dialled a number.

“Billy? Is Jake in? Oh, it’s just that Edward needs to talk to him, urgently. Is anyone around so that we can arrange a meeting? Okay. Five minutes. Bye” she turned back to me.

“Jake’s out scouting. He say’s he’ll ring Sam and he’ll tell Jake. He wants you to meet in the clearing for a discussion”

“Okay. Bye Bella”

“What are you talking about? I’m coming too!” I sighed but I could see there was no changing her mind.

“Fine, let’s go” I headed to my car and we raced off. We reached the clearing. I was surprised to see that Jacob was already there.

“WHERE IS SHE?!” I yelled.

“She ran off! I thought she’d gone home!”

“YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO LOOK AFTER HER! YOU INSISTED SHE COME OVER AND YOU TOLD ME YOU’D LOOK AFTER HER!”

“She overheard me talking to Quil and Embry. She found out what I was and freaked. She ran off. Well, drove off. On a motorbike. She was going to fast for my bike (hers is a better make) so I stopped after a while. I assumed she’d gone home or to you”

“You assumed wrong dog. We have no idea where she is and Alice saw that she was in danger. Happy with yourself? I thought the idea of imprinting was to stop them getting into trouble, to protect them! You couldn’t even do that you stupid dog!” my voice was no longer loud. It was quiet and deadly. I would kill him.

“It’s possible she just needs some time to calm down” said Bella “We should wait for a week and see if she comes home. The Newton’s are going to report her missing soon though, we need a cover”

“We can say she’s been staying with us or something. But Mike would know she’s not at school” I said. Waiting didn’t seem such a good idea but Bella was probably right. I remembered Roxie’s reaction when I told her what I was.

We were back at school today. Bella had told Mike that they were going to have a lot of tests this week so he was skiving of school by pretending to be ill. There was still no sign of Roxie. If she hadn’t turned up by the end of the week, we would have to do something. We went into our first lesson.

“Class we have four new students today. This is the West family. There are spare seats over there” Mr Banner pointed. I looked up. Two boys, two girls. One boy had sandy brown hair and the other had black hair. They were as big and strong looking as Emmett. One of the girls had long blonde hair with streaks of red and blue. The other had long brown hair that was braided. The moment I saw them I knew instantly what had happened to Roxie.
