I wasn’t as resilient as I had thought because Seth had obviously broken my arm. I held it gingerly the shock on my face echoed that of everyone else.

“Dad.” I whispered and Carlisle was there in a flash.

“What happened?” Carlisle asked looking at me on the floor.

“I think my arm is broken.” I said calming myself with a deep breath.

“How?” Carlisle seem confused

“I guess I’m weaker then I thought.” I said shrugging “I was in the wrong place.”

“The dog here didn’t like what I said. He didn’t seem to care that she was there.” Eli said glaring at Seth.

“Oh God, Tabatha I’m sorry.” Seth said coming towards me. Eli hissed and swooped in between us.

“I’m fine really.” I said as Carlisle helped me up “It’s doesn’t hurt that much.”

My arm was already swelling. It was throbbing and I winced as Carlisle examined it.

“Without a doubt it’s broken across the radius and ulna.” Carlisle said.

“That’s a first, I never thought it possible.” I said a little surprised

“Me neither, but we didn’t have much to go on.” Carlisle admitted

“Eli move out the way so Seth can see I’m fine.”

“He did that to you and you still think he’s safe?” Eli said a little miffed

“He didn’t mean to hurt me. It was the opposite he wanted me a safe distance from the two of you.”

“He’s young Elijah, and if you two can’t act right you’ll both be asked to leave my home.” Carlisle said flatly

Eli moved and allowed Seth to come my side. Seth looked so guilty. I felt so bad for him and I found myself comforting him.

“It’s completely fine Seth. See.” I moved my fingers and winced.

“Liar, I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Seth put his hand on the side of my face and I turned into it.

“You are hurting Me.” he dropped his hand in shock. “No, the fighting between you two. I love you both and it’s not fair to me.”

“Let me put a brace on this for you and get you back to bed Tabby.” Carlisle said.

I was so glad that school was out for winter brake I really didn’t feel like explaining my arm to people.

I was back in my room shortly after that staring at the ceiling again. Everyone had gone down stairs and I was alone on the third floor. I fell into a fitful sleep I didn’t sleep long enough to dream. I was determined not to be forced into my visions.

I went to the bathroom and put makeup on the purple under my eyes was far to dark. Not that it would fool anyone. I walked down the stair and into the great room.

“She’s still repressing” Elijah said as I came in the room.

“Mind your own business you old fool.” I grumbled

“He’s worried just as we all are Tabby.” Esme’s sweet voice hit me and I felt guilty.

“I don’t want it.” I said weakly

“You never had a choice, love.” Eli pointed out the obvious

“Thank you captain obvious.” I gripped as I fell limply on the couch.

“Dreams are your gift that any of us would be happy to have. Love, please dream and may they be pleasant. If you would have been dreaming you would have seen me coming. Even though I loved surprising you I should have known there was something wrong with that.” Eli looked like he was blaming himself some how.

“Why can’t I make my own decision?” I asked bitterly

“I know what it does to you. It kills me to see you like this. Your body is weakening and slowing. I can see it slowly happening like the last time.” Eli looked sad and he was thinking about the last time and the week it took me to return to normal. “I can’t sit back and watch you do that to yourself again.” he said sadly

“Then leave you miserable old coot.” I snapped

“Not on your life.” he smiled happily

“Where is Seth?” I asked looking around the room slowly

“He left after you fell asleep last night.” Esme said sitting next to me.

“I want him here I’ll sleep I swear.”

“Nope he’s not coming back until your dreaming it’s decided.” Eli said with a huge smile coming to his face.

“We thought it best and he agreed.” Esme said her eyes soft as they took in my face.

“That wasn’t your decision to make none of you.” I snapped I was cranky and this situation was making it worse.

“Go back to bed love.” Eli said “You want me to carry you. You look like your about to fall over just sitting there.”

“Don’t touch me snitch.” I snapped “I won’t sleep let alone dream until Seth is allowed back.” I said stubbornly.

“Well it won’t be long before you can’t stay awake so we can wait for you to collapse if you have to be stubborn.” Eli said sourly

“I’m going for a walk. And don’t follow me you ass.” I got up and walked passed him to the door.

I was lucky that I never left my room without my phone. I flipped it open and dialed Seth’s number. If I couldn’t see him I could at least hear his voice.

“Hello” Leah answered on the first ring.

“Where’s Seth?” I asked not really feeling up to a verbal confrontation with her today.

“On a date leech.” She said snidely

“Is that right? Well is she pretty?” I asked a smile coming to my face.

“She human and doesn’t smell.”

“Well that real nice. Can you have him call me?”

“No, how about you leave him alone?”

“If that’s what he really wants.” I said softly

“You’re no fun today.” She grumbled “Seth your leech is on the phone” the phone made a thump sound as she threw it on something.

“You’re supposed to be sleeping sweet.” His voice was gentle but I could hear the stress in it.

“Not until I see you. Come see me?” the last part was more a question then an order.

“I don’t know. Not that I don’t want to see you it’s just Elijah thinks I’m a distraction. I don’t want to hurt you again.”

“Eli doesn’t know me anymore. Come to me please.” My voice was weak and I knew it was getting close. The darkness was threatening to take me. Plus my arm still kind of hurt but no where as bad. I wondered how fast I healed.

“I’m on my way.” He said hanging up the phone.

“Please hurry” I said weakly and slumped onto the steps of the porch.

“You look like death.” Rosalie said as she walked up the front step.

“That coming from the queen of the damned.” I grumbled weakly

“Still got your wits about you I see.” She said with a smile.

“Until the darkness comes.” Eli said behind me and I jumped

“You shouldn’t sneak up on people with beating hearts.” I said turning towards him glaring.

“If you weren’t so weak you would have heard me. Damn it all! Tab go to sleep.” Eli said harshly throwing his hands in the air.

“Not in this life time, Seth is coming. I’ll sleep later.”

“He’s coming? How did you talk him into that?”

“I asked. You would come if I asked wouldn’t you? He loves me Eli can’t you see that?” I asked him softly pleading with my eyes

“Yes, I can see that he has some sort of connection to you.” he said bitterly his eyes darting to the forest across the front lawn.

I followed his eyes and saw Seth coming out of the trees.

I pulled myself up and walked slowly over to him. Rosalie and Eli walked into the house. When I got to Seth I fell into his arms.

“That was dirty, you left while I was napping.” I said trying to sound angry.

“We all thought it best if you had no distraction. How’s your arm?” He asked before kissing my forehead.

“Fine I think it’s healing fast.” I said moving it with almost no pain.

“Good now let me take you to bed.”

“No I want to spend time with you.”

“Don’t be stubborn Tabatha”

“I’m perfectly fine. I’ll sleep tonight I promise.”

“You don’t look perfectly fine. Yesterday you looked fine and today it looks like you’ve been up for weeks. Maybe I just didn’t see it. I’m kicking myself for not noticing that you didn’t dream.” He sad sadly

“You wouldn’t have known the difference. Plus it doesn’t matter. A lot of people don’t dream.”

He glared at me and pulled me up in his arms carrying me into the house.

“She about to collapse. She can’t even hold her own weight.” Seth said panic in his voice “How the hell can we make her sleep?”

“Put me down if you’re going to join this group traitorous vampires.” I said squirming in his arms.

“Stop being difficult.” He growled in my ear.

“Even my boyfriend is a traitor great. Put me down I’m going to my room.” He placed me on my feet and I swayed slightly before getting my balance.

I pulled myself up the stairs and into my room slamming the door as hard as I could manage. Falling on the bed I rolled over and stared at the ceiling.

“Why can’t they all just leave me be?” I grumbled out loud. “Maybe I’ll leave. I just have to figure out how to get passed them.”

“Yeah that will happen with a mind reader in the house.” Edward said from my door.

“Why can’t I brood in peace?”

“Your thoughts are foggy but still I got what you were thinking.” Edward smiled. “Diabolical plans thought out that way never tend to succeed.”

“Stay out of my head it’s annoying.”

“Plus I don’t think you would make it far.”

“Go away mind reader.”

“Fine but no more plotting I’m going to tell them what you’re thinking.” Edward walked out the door and pulled it shut behind him.

Damn you, you suck! I thought and I heard Edward laughing down stairs.

I rolled on my side and cleared my head of all thoughts. Hoping that if I slept for just a few hours they would be happy. Darkness creped in and I slept. But still no dreams came my sleep was fitful and I awoke disgruntled.

Well damn even when I try to sleep nothing. It’s not me I’m broken.

Edward was in my door again. “Your not broken you’re still not allowing yourself to rest. What are you afraid of?”

“Nothing Edward. Seeing something I don’t want to maybe.”

“Do you have a lot of visions that scare you?”

“Mostly, sometimes their pleasant. Like when I saw you guys and Seth.” I smiled at the memory of the visions.

“That explains it.” Edward exhaling loudly. “Sleep, dream nothing can be that bad.”

“You don’t have my visions.” I stated flatly

“Do you feel any better? You’ve been sleeping for hours.”

“A little. My arm feels great can I take this stupid thing off my arm?” I waved the braced arm back and forth.

“I’ll ask Carlisle.” With that he left pulling the door shut again.

I fell asleep again and this time the dream came but it lasted only a minute and then blackness. All I saw was a young female vampire with short brown hair. She had a sadistic smile on her face.

Carlisle was in my room when I awoke this time.

“Did I wake you dear?” He asked softly while he looked at my arm.

“Not really, I had a short vision that’s what really woke me.”

“What was it?”

“Some young vampire.” I shrugged

“Mmmm…” He took the brace off my arm. “You seem to heal almost as fast as the shape shifters. That’s reassuring.”

“Can I get up now? I feel much better.” I lied but I made my voice sound stronger than I really felt.

“I don’t see why not if you had a vision.” Smiling he stood and offered me his hand. I took it and allowed him to help me to the great room.

“You still don’t look strong enough.” Eli said from the chair in the corner

“Shut up traitor. I had a vision leave me be.” I snapped

“What was it?” He asked challenging me. I pictured the vampire girl in my head.

“Jane.” Edward hissed

I raised one eyebrow “Who?”

“That vampire you just pictured.” He said through his clinched teeth.

“Okay that helps none.” I grumbled

“A sadistic Volturi guard.” Eli explained “You saw her that can’t be good what else did you see?”

“Nothing” I admitted upset with myself now for not seeing more.

“You not making this easy love.” Eli said with a sigh

“I tried I really did.”

“I’ll have Alice look into it.” Carlisle said as he walked out the door.

“If it has something to do with me she won’t see it.” I grumbled to myself

“Seth were are you?” I called I knew he was there I could smell him. I was feeling better just not a hundred percent.

“Kitchen sweet.” his voice was garbled he must have been eating.

I walked in the direction of his voice. “That looks tasty. Can I have some?” he pushed his plate towards me and I picked at it. To weak to hunt I still need to eat something.

“Feeling better you spent all day in bed?” He asked smiling sweetly

“Tip top.” I returned his smile.

“Sure sure.” He said in an imitation of Jake.

I ate more of his food slowly and watched him watch me. We didn’t talk just sat there in silence.

I finally pushed the plate away from barely touching the disgusting human food. I stood and walked back to the great room. Stopping in the middle of the room so that it would stop spinning. I didn’t succeed the room only spun faster. Finally the blackness that had been threatening to come for two days over took me and I slumped to the floor.
