You're Still Here!

Somebody comes to Forks that Edward thought should have died a long time ago. How will this new arrival affect the Cullens' and Bella's life? I know it says no spoilers, but there actually are a few. DISCLAIMER: I do not own any of the Twilight characters!

I just thought of this one day and decided it would be cool to write.

Bella’s P.O.V.

I stood in the doorway for two seconds before my brain started working again. Then I slammed the door closed again and started running back down the hall towards the stairs. I scrambled ungracefully down them and started running down the second floor’s hallway to the other staircase.

I hadn’t heard the door open again on the third floor, or hear him move, but suddenly Edward shouted “Wait!” and was there in front of me, blocking me from going any farther.

“Let me go!” I screamed at him, my voice strangled by the emotions running through me. He had grabbed my arm to keep me from going anywhere, and the iciness of his skin stung me unlike it had ever done before. But I needed to get away from here. I didn’t want to see him or talk to him or have anything to do with him right then.

“No, let me explain,” he begged me.

Emmett came out of his room a few doors down the hall.

“What’s going on?” he asked as he walked towards us.

“Let me go!” I screamed at Edward again and pulled my arm, which did little use, ignoring Emmett’s question.

“No! I need to explain!”

“Can somebody please tell me what is going on?!” Emmett shouted at the both of us. “Edward?” he asked his brother.

“Let me go!” I screamed uselessly again. I was going to break down into hysterics if I had to stand there looking at him with his hand on my arm any longer. I looked over at Emmett, and then an idea hit me.

“Emmett, I’ll tell you everything if you make Edward let go of me.” It was a long shot, I know. But I had to try something.

Emmett looked at my face for a while and I guess what he saw there convinced him to make Edward let go, whether he believed me or not.

“Edward, let go of her.”

“No!” He shouted at him. “Bella, please just let me-”

He was cut off when Emmett suddenly grabbed his hands, unlocked them from my arms, and twisted them behind his back.

As soon as I realized I was free, I started running again, down the rest of the hallway, down the stairs, and into the Cullens’ living room.

“Emmett, stop it! Let me go! You‘re making a mistake!” I heard Edward shout upstairs.

I then began to think. I knew that I had only so much time before someone would stop me, most likely Edward. And I knew that my car couldn’t take me very far in that amount of time. Then I remembered the other car in the driveway. I remembered it looking really fast. I saw unfamiliar keys on a very unfamiliar key- chain on the Cullens‘ coffee table. I knew that none of the Cullens had a guitar key-chain. So they must belong to his sister. Which means they must be able to work that car outside. I’ve never been much for carjacking, but I had to get away from here without anyone catching up to me. I guess it was time to see just how fast that car could go.

I ran over to the coffee table, grabbed the keys, and ran out the front door, down the steps, and to the very unfamiliar car.

“Okay, let’s see how this car works,” I said to myself. I put the keys in the ignition, twisted, and to my delight, the car started. I turned the car around and started driving back down the Cullens’ drive.

Since seeing the keys and thinking up this plan, I hadn’t really had a chance to think about why exactly I was, well, carjacking a total stranger’s car because there was such a high feeling in doing it. I mean, I’ve never actually done something like that before. Now I guess I could be considered a criminal. I hope his sister doesn’t press charges. And I really hope Charlie doesn’t find out.

But as I was driving down the road the high started to wear off, and by the time I was at the main road, I remembered what had happen. The tears that had left my eyes during the carjacking scheme started to come back, and there was a huge aching pain in my chest. I couldn’t believe that had actually happened. Edward… and her, whoever she was. I didn’t get a really good look at her face, and I couldn’t remember all of there names, but anyways. He and her were- I couldn’t even think it. I didn’t want to think it. It hurt too much.

I didn’t know where to go. I didn’t want to go home. Charlie might be there. Where else was there to go? Suddenly I knew where I needed to go. Who I needed to see right now. Even though he was mad at me, and even though he had no reason to help me out- heck, he could kick me out and send me right back here when I got there, but I needed to try. I needed to see my best friend right now. I needed his support, his comfort, even though he wouldn’t even know what he was comforting me about. I just needed him. I turned onto the main road and headed to La Push.

Karen’s P.O.V.

Sandra came into the room looking surprised and flustered. That’s odd. She never looked flustered. Wait a minute! I blocked myself away from the world and went into her past five minutes.

‘“Hello. Are you finished unpacking?” Edward asked’

‘“Almost, but I needed a break,” Sandra answered him. She went over to his large CD collection and started looking around. She stopped on a CD.’ Ooh! Matchbox 20! I love them. Note to self: Find that CD later. Wait. Focus.

‘“Yeah. They start accumulating during 50 years.”’

‘Sandra laughed at that.’

‘“You have a very nice house. Thank you for letting us stay here. It was very nice of you,” she told him.’

‘“Not a problem. We’re happy to do it. I’m just so happy to see Clara again.”’

‘“Yeah. I bet. It’s so cool that you two both ended up in the same town after all of these years.” She walked over to the sofa and sat down.’

‘“I know. I can’t believe it. That she is a vampire, too.” Edward said to her.’

‘“It’s weird what fate sometimes has in store for us.” ‘

‘“Yes, it is.”’

‘“It’s like one day, you can be planning on doing what you normally do, whether its going to school, or work, or wherever, just trying to get by. And the next, you find out that you’ve just one the lottery or something.”’

‘“I know.” he agreed.’

‘“Or, one day you can be dating someone, and then this other person comes along, and you’re like ‘What was I thinking?’ because you like this new person better than who you were dating before. You just didn’t know her before.” ’ No no no! You did not flirt with him while you were in there!

‘“What are you talking about?”’

‘“Fate. You could be with someone one day, and then fate would bring you to someone else.”’

‘“Sandra, I know what you’re doing.” he told her.’ Yes! Catch her at her game!

‘“What do you mean?” she asked.’

‘“I love Bella. I know that you like to flirt, but I won’t flirt back. Nor will any of the other guys in this house. I’m sorry.” he paused for a short second, and then said “I’m sorry,” again.’

‘He started to get up from the couch.’ Yes things were going great so far. So what was with the flustered look? I watched on.

‘Then, as he was getting up from the couch, Sandra pushed him back down and kissed him.’ No! ‘Just when I thought it was over, I saw the door open and the human he was with earlier in the doorway. His girlfriend!’

I came out of the vision facing Sandra. I was so angry that I was about to charge over to her and beat her until she begged for mercy. And then I’d beat her some more!

“What happened?” Clara asked, interrupting me from running over to Sandra and putting my plan into action.

“I’ll tell you what happened! That- that-” I had no idea what the right word for her was right then. Nothing seemed to be bad enough. “She-,” I said, pointing to Sandra “kissed your brother!”

“What?!” Clara screamed, dropping the shirt she was putting on a hanger. “How could you do this?! I even told you not to!”

“Me too!” I added.

“Well… well…” Sandra seemed at a loss for words. That was new. “Well… this is all you guys’ faults!” she finally stammered out.

“Our faults?!” Clara shouted. She seemed to be just as mad as me. More mad actually. I wouldn’t blame her. It was her brother after all.

“Yeah! You both knew what I’m capable of, and you still let me go! I’m sorry if that’s the way I am, but you should watch out for me! Why weren’t you keeping a look-out, Karen? You could have come in and stopped me!”

“I can’t believe you’re blaming this on us?!” I screamed at her. “And I’m sorry that I thought we would be able to trust you enough to not have to watch your every move!”

“What’s going on?” Alice came in then and asked, interrupting Sandra from whatever she was about to say. Rosalie came in after her.

“Yeah, Emmett and Edward were fighting downstairs. What happened?”
