Nightfall

Summary:
banner_nightfall (Post-BD) A few years after Renesmee is born, the Cullens are ready to leave Forks. Too many questions are being asked: What happened to Isabella Swan? Who's that little girl? How did she grow so fast? When Carlisle finds the House of Night, an exclusive Vampire Finishing school, the family packs their bags for Oklahoma. When they arrive at the school though, they find Rosalie's new friend has a troubled past. And the High Priestess isn't all that she's pretending to be. A crossover with PC and Kristen Cast's House of Night series (AU). Contains spoilers for books "Chosen" and "Untamed" (Though I'm not sure about "Hunted" yet, there may be some later on, but it's pretty unlikely.)

Carlisle’s shiny Mercedes pulled up next to the great stone building. I slumped in my seat and scowled. I hated traveling, and my ass hurt. I wasn’t even allowed to ride in my car, with its comfy leather upholstery. No, we had to help save the planet, and carpool! Global warming shwarming. It didn’t affect me.Worst, Nessie was riding in Edward’s car with Bella. Knowing that I was in one of my “moods”, Emmett grabbed my hand and smiled. My heart melted at the sight of those dimples. I squeezed my arms tight as he wrapped me in one of his bear hugs and whispered “Don’t worry Rose.” Mmmm, he smelled good today. Like pine with a hint of DVB cologne. Yummy.

We all clambered out of the car. I stared at the boxes stacked on the roof of the car until I spotted the one labelled “Rosalie”, in Esme’s perfect handwriting. I leaped onto the boxes and snapped the cord. I plucked mine out and carried it over to the others. “Hey Renesmee!” I called out. She giggled as she watched the others scramble to catch the falling boxes.

“Rosalie!” Esme groaned. She joined us on the sidewalk. “Sorry we’re late.” She said.

Bella grinned. “Naw, it’s just Edward’s crazy driving.”

A yellow Porsche screeched up to the curb. A blonde boy climbed out and opened the door for a perky brunette who danced over to where we were standing. “Wow,” she said, in her musical voice. “Nice place.”

Japer joined her and nodded, silent as usual. Alice’s personal pack mule, he had various shopping bags draped over his arms.

“We stopped at an outlet on the way.” Alice chirped, watching me eye the bags. “We picked some nice clothes out for you Bells.” She teased.

I rolled my eyes. “Let’s get going already.”

“Wait.” Carlisle looked serious. “These vampires are a little… well, different from us. Just, try not to stare.”

Edward’s eyes widened. Obviously, he was hearing whatever Carlisle didn’t want to tell us. “Amazing” he whispered.

And so we entered the House of Night.

I had to admit, what Carlisle had done was amazing. Don’t ask me how, but somehow he had managed to find the House of Night, a school exclusively for vampires. Our time would soon be up in Forks- someone would have noticed we hadn’t changed in years. So we all packed our bags and headed for Oklahoma. Carlisle would be teaching history and medicine, and Esme would help out with odd jobs such as cooking and working in the infirmary (apparently, these vampires took several years to complete the “change” and they still ate, slept and bled like regular humans). That is, while she wasn’t taking care of Renesmee. The rest of us would attend classes there.

Inside the building, a few students lingered in the halls, each with a sapphire outline of a crescent moon on their foreheads. Some kind of weird fashion trend maybe? Edward turned around and smirked, suppressing a laugh. I was about to hit him, when I realized I wasn’t the only one. He was laughing at all of our thoughts, except his beloved Bella. I hate it when he does that.
