Me, Edward and my dear Alice were out hunting one late afternoon.

We were running through the woods, the tress flying behind us. Edward may enjoy running the most, but

I must say that we all feel quite exhilarated when we ran.

As usual, Edward was up front, leading the way. Our captain, you could say.

Alice was by my side, holding my hand. It was warm, comfortable and reassuring.

She's what held me down on this planet. With out her frail, warm hands holding me down, I'd drift away.

I looked over to my true love. Her night black hair was whooshing back. Her small, thin body was moving quickly beside me. Her face was determined.

I almost stumbled on a log that was in front of me. Her beauty always seemed to amaze me.

The emotions reflecting from my darling was exhilaration, happiness, and love.

Edward stopped behind a giant rock. Behind it, I could hear 2 mountain lions, lazily enjoying the small sunshine that shone on them.
They had a very brisk smell, almost like cinnamon. They weren’t my favourite, but satisfying.

Edward had already climbed up the rock, ready to jump and attack. My Alice was at the corner, ready to pounce.

I wasn't really hungry, so I decided to let them enjoy. I carefully walked over to my Alice and wrapped my arms around her.

Her face and body posture was still ready to pounce. Her emotions showed little hunger, but attention to me.

"Have my share" I whispered in her ear. I kissed her neck quickly (much too quickly for my taste) and went around to the other corner of the giant rock.

The lions seemed to have sensed the presence of us. There emotions turned from lazy and happy to scared and worried.

I focused and turned there worrisome emotions into the same laziness.

Suddenly, Edward pounced. He jumped and landed on one of the lions. It seemed to take the lions a second to realize what was going on.

While they were still a bit clueless, Edward jumped for of the neck.

Alice suddenly jumped and tackled the other one.

It made me laugh every time I saw her hunt.

Her small body looked like it would be crushed by the lions, but that was not the case.

She was beautiful, no doubt. With her graceful entry, beautiful finish.

I remember Maria told me once that hunting was an art. It took care, precision...

I shook my head. I couldn't let my horrible life from Before come back and put me down.

I was here. I was now.

I always thought of the time before I met Alice as the Before times. Everything after that was my real life.

Everything from Before didn't matter.

Everything from Before could just drift into the universe. Into the unknown. It wouldn't be missed.

I shook my head again. I put my focus back onto my life, Alice.

She was gingerly enjoying the mountain lion. As she slurped up the goodness, she seemed to almost stroke the lion.

Reassuring it? Comforting it?

That's my Alice. Putting a good mystery in my mind.

"What mystery?" Edward was suddenly at my side, watching Alice along with me.

Notice how she's stroking it? Why is that?I asked in my mind.

He chuckled.

"She thinks the fur is beautiful" Edward smiled.

I couldn't help but laugh. Before I knew it I was on holding on to the rock so I wouldn't fall.

Because of my Before, I looked at my food as my prey, my enemy. I attacked it with all my force and power.

Now my darling was stroking the enemy because the fur was beautiful!

"What's so funny?" Alice was suddenly at my side, holding my hand.

I chuckled and kissed her lightly on the lips.

I'm pretty sure that her lips were perfectly shaped for mine. Edward seemed to inch away as the once

small peck became a long kiss.

My god she smelt good.

It was like lavender, rain, peppermint and wood. And like all vampires, she smelt almost bitter sweet.

By now, Alice and I were making out, and Edward had fled, mumbling something about Bella.

It didn’t matter. I held onto my small, beautiful girl.

And she was mine. All mine. No one else’s.

Suddenly we were falling. I turned my body so instead of Alice falling onto the ground and me on top of her, I would fall first and she’d fall on top of me.

That was one of my biggest goals in life. To protect my Alice. To make sure no harm comes her way.

Her being so small, so fragile.

“What are you thinking about Jasper?” Alice asked suddenly. She was lying on my chest, lazily drawing hearts with her finger.

I chuckled. I raised my head so my lips were right by her ear.

“I am thinking about why I love you so much, ma’am” I whispered. I gently kissed her neck as she thought about this.

“Why don’t you show me how much you love me...” Alice said slyly.

I grinned.

That’s my Alice.
